ASSEMBLY

Required tools

1 Philips screwdriver (not included)

  1. Remove all packaging materials.
  2. Clean all parts with a damp cloth, as described in the chapter "Cleaning and care" on page 17.
  3. Insert the base (8) into the base stand (9) - this requires application of force to ensure a stable connection.
  4. Turn the grill housing (6) over and position the assembly element (7) so that the openings of the assembly element are in exact alignment with the holes on the bottom of the grill housing. Fasten the assembly element to the grill housing using the short screws.
  5. Place the grill housing (6) firmly onto the base (8).
  6. Now attach the two side elements (5). Hold each side element on the matching bracket on the grill housing (6) and use the long screw to fasten the side element. This is easier if you raise the side element somewhat using your free hand.

  7. To assembly the grill cover (1), first place it on the grill housing (6). Now align the two hinges so that you can push the two bolts through the holes. Secure the two bolts with the cotter pins by inserting each pin through the small hole in the bolt.

  8. Attach the handle to the lid using the screws provided.
  9. Place the grease drip pan (3) in the middle of the grill housing (6).
  10. Insert the grill plate (2). To do so, hold the grill plate at an angle so that the thermostat connection on the grill plate fits through the opening provided in the grill housing.
  11. Now connect the power cord with the thermostat plug (4).
  12. Check to make sure that all parts are assembled correctly and the grill is stable.
  13. Connect the appliance via the power cord to the power supply (230V ,50Hz)

Folding up the side elements

Unlock the mount on the respective side element by pulling it firmly outward. Then fold the side element upward until you can hang the mount exactly on the grill housing.

To fold the elements down, proceed in reverse order. The mount has to be locked into place by applying pressure.

PREPARING THE APPLIANCE FOR OPERATION

  1. Place the assembled appliance on a suitable level surface.
  2. Open the cover of the appliance.
  3. Check to make sure that the grease drip pan is correctly inserted.
  4. Before using the grill, lightly oil the grill plate with high heat cooking oil, such as sunflower oil.

  5. Now connect the power cord with the thermostat plug to the appliance.

  6. Connect the appliance via the power cord to the power supply (AC, 230 V~, 50 Hz).
  7. You can fold out the side elements as needed.
  8. Select the desired temperature setting on the rotary switch. The indicator lamp on the thermostat indicates when the required

temperature has been reached. It goes out when the set temperature is reached and switches on each time the appliance heats up to the required temperature.

  1. At setting "1" the thermostat switches off.
  2. Allow the grill to pre-heat for about 5 minutes for optimum grilling results.
  3. When the required temperature has been reached, you can start grilling.
  4. Please use only wooden or plastic utensils for turning and stirring food on the grill. Do not use metal spoons, knives or forks. They can scratch the grill plate.
  5. If the food being grilled browns too quickly, turn the rotary switch to a lower setting.
  6. For optimum grilling results, turn the food regularly.

  7. Frozen foods should be completely thawed before grilling.

  8. Do not completely cover the grill plate with aluminum foil or other objects that could cause the appliance to overheat. Of course, you can use conventional aluminum grill trays, and you can also grill food wrapped in aluminum foil, such as potatoes.
  9. It is possible that grease may splatter while food is being grilled. Therefore, you should protect the floor beneath the appliance to prevent damage from splashing grease.
  10. When you are ready to stop grilling, turn the rotary switch to the lowest setting and unplug the appliance from the wall socket.
  11. Then unplug the thermostat plug and allow the grill to cool.
