BEFORE FIRST USE

Before assembling the appliance remove all 1.6. Grease the plates slightly and preheat the packing materials. empty appliance for about 10 minutes. Then

  1. Check if all parts are complete.

Wipe the removable parts with a damp cloth 3. or clean it in warm soapy water. Dry the parts carefully

Wipe the housing with a damp cloth. Make 4. sure that no water can penetrate into the housing.

  1. Put the plug into a socket.

The first toast/waffle should not be used and 7. should be thrown away.

  1. For further used the plates must not be greased any more (except if provided in the recipe).

  2. The appliance is now ready for being used.

USE OF THE APPLIANCE

Attach the set of plates which you intend to 1. use by pressing the plates into the hinge. The sliding holders will slightly move to the front.

  1. Put the plug into the socket (power supply 230 V). and turn the temperature button to the desired position between MIN and MAX. The red control lamp turns on and keeps on lighting as long as the appliance is connected to the power.

Use the preheating phase of the Multi 3 in 3. 1 (approx. 5 minutes) to prepare the ingredients.

As soon as the required temperature is rea-4. ched, the green control lamp turns on. This lamp will always turn on, when the required temperature is reached and turns off, when the temperature has fallen and the appliance is heating again.

Before the first use, grease the plates w some oil or butter.

Now place either6.

the prepared sandwiches on the sandwich moulds, or fill the dough into the waffle plates, or place the food to be grilled on the riffled grill plate.

Close the lid. When preparing sandwiches, 7. also close the handle locking!

To keep the prepared snacks warm, reduce 8. the heat to MIN, but keep always in mind that the snacks will get dry after a certain time.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Unplug the appliance before cleaning and let 1. it cool down.

Remove the cooled plates by pulling the 2. sliding device to the front, the plate will jump up.

  1. If some fat should have dripped inside the appliance, wait until it is lukewarm and wipe it away with a kitchen paper.

The aluminium diecast plates can be cleaned 4. either in the dishwasher or by hand. Discolorations may occur in the dishwasher and do not

represent a risk or a reason for complaint.

In case of strong crusts, soak the plates over-5. night.

  1. Use a damp cloth for cleaning of the housing.

Do not use any scouring or corroding agents 7. or oven cleaners.

All parts must be dried before reassembling 8. the appliance.

For vertical storage wind the cable around the 9. cable storage in the bottom.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND RECIPES FOR THE SANDWICH TOASTER

Attention: When preparing sandwiches always close the handle locking!

For preparing sandwiches we recommend the a medium to high temperature setting.

You may use each kind of bread for the preparation of sandwiches - however, we recommend to take toast bread.

Instead of bread you may also use puff pastry or yeast dough which you can buy frozen.

Please roll these doughs approx. 3mm thick and cut them into 13 cm large dough squares.

Spread all sides of the bread which will contact the toast plates slightly with butter.

You will see, that only few ingredients (e.g. the leftovers of other dishes) are necessary to prepare

delicious snacks quite simply and rapidly without any limitation to your phantasy: You may take meat, fish, cheese, sausage, which can be combined with onions, tomatoes, gherkins, mushrooms, and spices to get delicious sandwiches. Or just try to make sweet pastries from puff pastry and fruits such like apples, bananas, pineapple combined with jam or chocolate. But also a simple short pastry dough made of flour and water and filled with a meat stuffing or with vegetables give delicious snacks.

DELICIOUS SNACK IDEAS

Cheese sandwich

4 slices toastbread,2slicescheese,2slicescooked ham,

You may vary this recipe by adding gherkins or pineapples (can).

Place 1 slice of cheese, ham, and optionally pineapple or gherkins on the buttered toast slices (buttered side down).

Then put the other toast slices (buttered side on top) on the sandwich, lay it into the preheated sandwich toaster. Close the toaster and toast the sandwiches for approx. 2-3 minutes.

Sandwich with ricotta or mascarpone and chutney

4 slices toastbread, 100g ricotta ormascarpone cheese, 1 egg, chutney (e.g. mango chutney), salt and pepper

Mix ricotta/mascarpone with the egg, salt, and pepper. Lay two buttered toast slices (buttered side down) on the preheated mould. Press a hollow into the bread with a spoon. Pour the cheese mixture onto this hollow. Add some chutney to taste. Then cover with the other toast slices (buttered side on top), close the unit and toast for approx. 2-3 minutes.

Chinese Rolls

1 tbsp oil, 2 scallions, washed and finely cho 12 small carrot, peeled and grated, 1 tsp soy sauce, 150 g bean sprouts (can), 50 g peeled prawns, some Sambal Oelek, 4 slices toast bread, some melted butter to spread

Heat oil and slightly fry onions, add carrots and continue to fry for 2 minutes. Then add soy sauce, bean sprouts and prawns and let simmer for a moment. Remove the edges of the toast bread and roll the

slices very thinly. Butter the underside with melted butter. Spread the stuffing on the slices and roll them up. Lay one roll each diagonally into the moulds of the toaster and toast for about 2-3 minutes.

We recommend to accompany this dish with salad.

Apple sultana puffs

15 g butter, 250 g peeled and chopped apples

25 g sultanas, 1 tbsp sugar, 12 tsp cinnamon

3 tbsp water, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 250g puff pastry (defrosted), melted butter

Melt butter, add apples, sultanas, sugar, cinnamon, water and lemon juice and cook stirring occasionally until the apples are soft.

Roll puff pastry to a 3 mm thick plate and cut it into 13 cm large dough squares.

Spread two dough plates with butter and place them on the preheated moulds of the sandwich toaster (buttered side down). Fill 1 tablespoon of the stuffing on each dough plate and cover it with buttered dough plate (buttered side on top).

Close the toaster and bake for approx. 4 minutes, until the puff pastry is golden. Serve warm.

Beef/ham snacks

175 g cold beef, finely chopped

75 g cooked ham, finely chopped

250 g puff pastry (defrosted)

1 egg, beaten, salt, freshly grinded pepper

Mix beef and ham and season with salt, pepper and eggs.

Then proceed as described for apple sultana puffs.

Samosas

You can take small quantities of vegetables for this recipe - ideal to use left-overs. Just vary the stuffing accordingly.

125 g flour, 2 pinches of salt, 3 tbsp water
150 g jacket potatoes, peeled and cut into small pieces
1 tblsp oil
75 g onions, finely chopped
1 1 / 2 tsp curry powder
75 g defrosted peas
1 tsp fresh, grated ginger
1 small chilli pepper, seeds removed, finely chopped
2 tblsp water
1 pinch of cayenne pepper
2 tbsp lemon juice melted butter
2 tbsp fresh, finely chopped coriander

Sift flour, rub in salt, oil and water and kneathoroughly. Use more water if necessary. Knead for about 10 min. to get a stiff ball of dough. Rub the dough with oil and leave it in a plastic bag for about 30 minutes.

Prepare the stuff in the meantime. Fry the onions in oil, add curry powder and continue to fry for a moment, than add peas, ginger, chilli pepper and cook until the peas are soft. Then add the potatoes and other ingredients and let simmer for 3-4 min.

Roll the dough and cut it into approx. 13 cm large squares. Brush the preheated moulds of the sandwich toaster with butter, place 2 dough plates on it and add the stuffing. Cover with two other plates, brush with melted butter, close the unit and bake the samosas.

We recommend a dressing of yoghurt with fresh, chopped coriander or parsley and sprinkled with paprika pepper or garam masala.

Attention: Never close the handle locking when preparing waffles, the dough will overflow!

The recipes are provided for 8-10 waffles.

For waffles we recommend a medium to high temperature setting.

UNOLD Multi 3in1 - INFORMATIONS AND RECIPES FOR WAFFLE PREPARATION - 1

All recipes can be prepared with whole wheat or spelt flour instead of fine flour. Then you shc take approx. 15% more liquid and leave the dough for about 30 minutes before baking.

You make season your sweet waffles with th following: 2 cl rum or amaretto, 1 tbsp lemon cests, 12 vanilla flavour, 3 tbsp finely cho nuts or almonds.

You may season your salty waffles by adding 2-3 tbsp finely chopped herbs, grated cheese or cooked ham, 1 tsp curry powder, caraway or 1 tbsp line seed.

For most recipes you need not grease the waffle plates. However, if the waffle dough does not contain any grease or only few grease you should grease the plates. Take heat-resistant margarine (no diet and grease with a brush.

Preheat the unit until the green control lamp turns on. Pour one portion of batter on the lower waffle plate and smoothen with a wood spoon. Then close the unit and bake the waffles.

When separating the eggs, beat the eggwhite and stir it under the batter before baking to get very light waffles (not for yeast batter).

SWEET WAFFLES

Belgian waffles

150 g butter, 150 g sugar, 2 eggs, 1 packet of vanilla sugar, approx. 375 ml milk, 375 g flour, 1 tsp baking powder

When you take mineral water instead of milk, the waffles will become crunchy. Beat butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla sugar. Add milk, flour and baking powder and prepare a smooth batter.

Yeast waffles

150 g soft butter, 4 eggs, 350 ml warm milk, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 packet of vanilla sugar, 250 g flour, 1 packet of dry yeast

Mix flour and yeast. Add the other ingredients to prepare a smooth batter. Leave the batter for 20-30 minutes to leaven, then bake the waffles.

Butter milk waffles

125 g soft butter, 4 eggs, 1 tbsp sugar, 14 tsp cinnamon, 1 pinch salt, 250 g flour, 375 ml butter milk, 1 packet of dry yeast

Beat butter with eggs, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Add flour and butter milk to the foamy mass and prepare a smooth batter. Please grease the waffle plates carefully!

Cream cheese waffles

150 g cream cheese (low-fat), 4 eggs, 100 g soft butter, 4 tbsp sugar, 1 packet of vanilla sugar, 200 g flour, 150 ml milk

Beats cream cheese with soft butter, eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar. Add flour and milk and prepare a smooth batter. Please grease the waffle plates carefully!

SALTY WAFFLES

Cheese waffles

120 g soft butter, 3 egg yolks, 3 tbsp condensed milk 1/8 l milk, 12 tsp salt, 1 pinch of sugar, 75 grated cheese, 200 g flour, 3 whipped egg 1 grated onion

Beat butter with eggs, add milk, condensed milk, egg yolks, sugar, salt, cheese and flour and prepare a smooth dough. Add whipped egg white. Add onions immediately before baking to provide that the dough

becomes bitter. Eventually add 1 tblsp of chopped parsley.

g Carrot waffles

whites 150 g soft butter, 2 tbsp sugar, 4 eggs, 100 g finely grated carrots, 1 pinch of f cinnamon, 1 pinch of salt, 250 g flour Prepare a smooth batter of all ingredients. Try zucchini instead of carrots.

WAFFLES FOR PEOPLE SUFFERING OF A GLUTEN ALLERGY

Corn waffles

3 eggs, 50 g soft butter, 3 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp maple syrup, 150 ml milk, 200 g corn flour, almonds

Make a smooth dough of all ingredients and leave for about 15 minutes before baking. Please grease the waffle plates carefully!

Rice waffles

150 g soft rice, 600 ml milk, 1 tbsp sugar, 30 g butter, 4 eggs, 12 tsp cinnamon, 1 pinch of salt. Make a pudding from rice, milk, sugar and butter and let it cool down. Mix eggs, cinnamon and salt with the pudding. Please grease the waffle plates carefully!

Potato waffles

675 g raw, finely grated potatoes, 2 raw fin
100ppgd shirows, 4 eggs, 2 pinches of salt,
2 tbsp sour cream, 5 tbsp finely chopped parsley,
100-125 g potato starch

Finely mash the potatoes and onions with a hand blender and mix thoroughly with the other ingredients. Please grease the waffle plates carefully!

INFORMATIONS AND RECIPES FOR THE CONTACT GRILL

For grilling we recommend the MAX temperature setting.

Always preheat the contact grill (until the green lamp turns off). Then place the food you want to grill. You may grill in the opened grill. If you want to do contact grilling, close the upper grill plate over the food which will then be grilled rapidly and uniformly. Your food will be best with a thickness

of 1.5-3 cm. The times in the below recipes are provided for contact grilling. Do not close the handle locking.

The following recipes are provided for 1-2 persons.

MEAT DISHES

Porc medaillons with pepper butter

4 porc medaillons, 125 g butter, 3 tbsp green pepper kernels, 1 tsp lemon juice, salt, pepper

Beat butter with lemon juice and salt, add pepper, form a roll and put it into the refrigerator. Wash and dry the meat, grill it from both sides for approx. 3-5 minutes in the preheated grill, then season with salt and pepper. Serve with one slice of the pepper butter.

Turkey steak with herbs

2 small turkey steaks

1 bunch of mixed herbs (parsley, thyme, majoram, rosemary etc.)
2 tbsp oil, 1 tbsp lemon juice, salt, pepper

Wash and dry the steaks. Finely chop the herbs and mix with oil and lemon juice. Lay the steaks into the marinade for 2-3 hrs, turn occasionally.

Dry the steaks and grill them in the preheated grill for approx. 8 minutes from both sides.

Pineapple steak

12 fresh pineapple, 1 glove of garlic, 12 tsp ground coriander, cayenne pepper, 2 small beef fillet steaks, 2 tsp oil, 4 tbsp crème fraîche, salt, pepper

Finely mash one quarter of the pineapple with a hand blender, season with chopped garlic, coriander and cayenne pepper. Keep the rest of the pineapple in the refrigerator. Marinate the steaks overnight in pineapple puree.

Cut one quarter of the pineapple into slices. Dry the meat and spread it with oil. Grill it from both sides for 3-5 minutes, together with the pineapple slices.

Bring the puree to boil, refine it with crème f Season the steaks, put a little slice of butter on them and serve them with the pineapple puree.

Lamb spits with garlic

300 g lamb meat from leg or fillet, 1 ves of garlic, 3 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp herb vinegar, salt, pepper, 2 twigs of thyme, 1 twig of rosemary, 1 bay leaf, 1 red paprika, 2 tomatoes cut into quarters, 100 g yoghurt, 1 tbsp crème fraîche, 1 tsp lemon juice, 1-2 tbsp finely chopped, fresh peppermint

Cut the meat into pieces. Finely chop the onion and the garlic. Mix with vinegar and oil, add salt and pepper. Tear thyme and rosemary leafs from the twigs and add as well as the bay leaf. Marinate the meat overnight in the refrigerator.

Put cleaned paprika pieces, meat and tomatoes on wood spits and grill in the preheated grill from both sides for 4-5 minutes.

Mix yoghurt with crème fraîche, lemon juice and peppermint, season with salt and pepper and serve the spits with the sauce.

TIP: If you should not get fresh peppermint, just take dried peppermint!

Chicken spits with fruit

300 g chicken breast, 2 medium onions, 1 sour apple, 1 banana, lemon juice, 1 tbsp peanut oil salt, pepper, curry powder

Cut the chicken into cubes. Cut the onions into quarters, peel and cut the apple. Cut the banana into approx. 3 cm long pieces. Sprinkle the fruits with lemon juice.

Put all ingredients on wood spits, brush them with oil, and grill for approx. 10 minutes in the preheated grill. Season with salt, pepper and curry powder and leave for a moment before serving.

Oriental chopped meat spits

150 g chopped beef, 150 g chopped lamb
1 medium onion, 2 tbsp finely chopped herbs (saue, pepper-mint, thyme, rosemary, parsley etc.), 2 gloves of garlic, 1 egg, salt, pepper

Finely chop the onion and mash the garlic. Thoroughly mix the chopped meat with the herbs, the onion, the garlic and the egg, season with salt and pepper. Form small sausages of the meat, stick them on wood spits and grill from both sides in the preheated grill by brushing occasionally with olive oil.

Variation: Add 50 g of mashed sheep cheese to the meat, form small rolls and grill them. In the mediterranean region, this dish is also served cold with a yoghurt peppermint sauce.

FISH DISHES

Herb Trout

2 small trouts, 2 tbsp parsley, 2 tsp lemon juice, salt, pepper, butter

Clean the fish, sprinkle it with lemon juice, fill parsley inside and brush it with melted butter. Then grill it from both sides in the preheated grill. Season with salt and pepper.

Grilled salmon with lemon butter

2 small slices of salmon, 2 tsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp soft butter, 1 tsp grated lemon cests, salt, pepper Clean the fish, sprinkle it with lemon juice and pepper and grill it from both sides in the preheated grill.

Mix butter with lemon cests, and serve the salmon with the butter.

VEGETARIAN DELICACIES

Grilled eggplants and zucchini

1 long eggplant, salt, 2 small zucchini, 4 tbsp olive oil, pepper

Cut the stalk from both vegetables. Cut the eggplant into slices, salt them and leave them for at least 30 min. Then rinse the slices and dry them.

Cut the zucchini also in slices and salt slightly.

Brush eggplant and zucchini with oil and grill them in the preheated grill from both sides.

We recommend to serve this dish with aioli or yoghurt mint sauce and French whitebread.

Mediterranean vegetable spit

2 small zucchini, 6 small onions, 2 stalks of celery, 6 artichoke bottoms (can), 6 cocktail tomatoes, 125g cream, lemon juice, salt, pepper 1 box of cress

Cut the zucchini into 2-3 cm thick slices. Cut the onions into halfs, peel the celery and cut it into 2-3 cm long pieces. Dry the artichokes and cut in the middle, cut the tomatoes.

Put all ingredients on wood spits and grill from both sides in the preheated grill for 3-4 minutes.

Tipsy pineapple

4 slices pineapple, 4 tsp cherry brandy, 1 tbsp butter, 2 tsp light honey, 1 pinch of grinded coriander Dry pineapple slices and sprinkle with cherry brandy. Leave for 30 min.

Melt butter and honey in a pot, season with coriander. Grill the pineapple slices from both sides in the preheated grill, brush occasionally with the butter honey mixture.

Serve with whipped cream or vanilla or pineapple ice cream.

Baked apple

1 large apple, lemon juice, 25g butter, 4 tsp liquid honey, 1 pinch of of ground cloves, 1 pinch of of cinnamon, 1 tsp sugar

Peel the apple, remove the grains and cut it into 1 cm thick slices. Sprinkle the apple slices with lemon juice and leave them for some minutes. Melt butter and honey in a pot and season with cloves.

Grill the apple slices in the preheated grill from both sides and brush occasionally with the honey butter mixtures.

Mix cinnamon and sugar and spread on the apple slices.

Serve with whipped cream.
