GETTING STARTED

  2. Confirm that all accessories mentioned have been supplied.
  3. Clean the detachable accessories in hot water with a mild washing-up liquid, rinse with clear water and dry thoroughly.
  4. Clean the casing of the appliance with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
  5. Connect the plug to the wall socket.

  6. Slightly grease the baking plates and heat the empty appliance up during approx. 10 minutes, adjusting it to the highest temperature. Clean the baking plates with a damp cloth.

  7. The first doughnuts you prepare as well as the first waffles are not suitable for consumption and should be disposed of.
  8. For further use the baking plates do not need to be greased again.

PREPARING WAFFLES AND DOUGHNUTS

  1. Fix each baking plate of the set you want to use to the inside of the appliance, inserting the baking plates in the fitting of the hinge and press to fit. During this process the slide-type retainers move slightly forward.
  2. Connect the plug to the wall socket (power supply 230 V\~, 50 Hz) and turn the temperature control to the desired position between MIN and MAX. The red indicator light for operation lights up.
  3. While the appliance heats up (approx. 5 minutes) you may prepare the ingredients for the desired food.
  4. When the necessary temperature is reached, the green indicator light lights up. This indicator light always lights up when the

CLEANING AND CARE

  1. Before cleaning, please unplug the appliance from the wall socket and let it cool down.

  2. Extract the cooled down baking plates by pulling the sliding switch towards the front. The baking plate comes off.

  3. In case some of the grease entered the lower part of the appliance, this can be removed best with a kitchen roll while the appliance is still warm.

  4. The die-cast aluminium baking plates can be cleaned in the dishwasher or manually. We recommend cleaning them manually, as aluminium may change its colour when cleaned in the dishwasher. These discolourations are not harmful to health and do not constitute a reason for claim.

  5. Heavily encrusted remains can be removed leaving the baking plates in water with a mild washing-up liquid over night.

  6. Clean the casing with a thoroughly squeezed out, damp cloth.

  7. Do not use any abrasive scrubbing agents, steel wool, metal objects, hot cleaning agents or disinfectants, since they can damage the appliance.

  8. Clean the casing with a damp cloth and dry with a soft cloth. Do not apply cleaning agents directly on the appliance, but on the cloth.

  9. Before storing the appliance, all parts have to be dry.

  10. For space saving storage, wrap the cable around the cable storage device on the bottom of the appliance. The appliance may be stored in an upright position.

RECIPES

  1. All recipes serve 8 – 10 waffles/doughnuts.
  2. We recommend a medium to high temperature adjustment.
  3. Instead of using superfine flour, all recipes may be also prepared with wholegrain wheat or spelt flour. In this case, use approx. 15% more liquid and leave the dough to soak 30 minutes before you start baking.
  4. To vary the taste of the sweet dough, try to add either 2 cl rum or Amaretto, 1 tbs. of grated lemon peel, 12 a small bottle of butter-vanilla flavouring, 3 tbs. of finely chopped nuts or almonds. The taste of the spicy dough may be changed by adding 2 – 3 tbs. of finely chopped herbs, grated cheese or roast ham, 1 tsp. of curry, caraway or 1 tbs. of linseed.
  5. The dough should be less liquid than normal in case you want to prepare waffle or doughnut lollies.
  6. Greasing of the baking plates is not necessary for most of the recipes. If you use a dough with little or no fat, grease the baking plates. Grease the baking plates with heat resistant margarine (no diet margarine) using a pastry brush.
  7. Heat the appliance up until the green indicator light lights up. Grease the baking plates, if necessary. Fill the indicated amount of dough into the moulds in the lower baking plate using a tablespoon. Smooth the dough out using a wooden spoon, close the appliance and bake the waffles or doughnuts until they are golden brown.
  8. Separating egg white and yolk, whipping the egg white and folding into the dough at the end makes the waffles especially light and airy (not with yeast dough).
  9. The thicker the dough, the lighter the doughnuts will be.
  10. Let the waffles and doughnuts cool down on a cake cooler, if you do not eat them immediately. If you put one upon another they will become soggy.
