3. Children aged from 3 years
and less than 8 years shall only swith on/off the appli- ance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal opera- ting position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.

The base should never come into contact with water or other liquids. In case this ever happens, the appli- ance must be completely dry before operating it again.
Do not clean the appliance in a dishwasher.

28. Disconnect the appliance

Let the appliance cool off before cleaning it.
30. Check the appliance, the
wall socket and the lead cable regularly for wear or damage. In case the lead cable or other parts present damages, please send the appliance or the base to our after sales service for ins
pection and repair. Unautho- rised repairs can constitute serious risks for the user and void the warranty. The manufacturer will not be liable in the event of incorrect assembly, improper or incorrect use or if repairs are carried out by unauthorized third parties. Attention: The surfaces of the appliance become hot during operation. Please use only the heat insulated handle to open and close the appliance. Never open the casing of the appliance to prevent electric shock.
1. Before assembling the appliance
remove all packing materials.
2. Check if all parts are complete.
3. Wipe the removable parts with a
damp cloth or clean it in warm soapy water. Dry the parts care- fully

USE OF THE APPLIANCE
1. Attach the set of plates which
you intend to use by pressing the plates into the hinge. The sliding holders will slightly move to the front.
2. Put the plug into the socket
(power supply 230 V~, 50 Hz) and turn the temperature button to the desired position between MIN and MAX. The red control lamp turns on and keeps on ligh- ting as long as the appliance is connected to the power.
3. Use the preheating phase of the
Multi 3 in 1 (approx. 5 minutes) to prepare the ingredients.
4. As soon as the required tempe-
rature is reached, the green con- trol lamp turns on. This lamp will always turn on, when the required temperature is reached and turns off, when the temperature has fal- len and the appliance is heating again.
5. Before the first use, grease the
plates with some oil or butter.

Instead of bread you may also use puff pastry or yeast dough which you can buy frozen. Please roll these doughs approx. 3 mm thick and cut them into 13 cm large dough squares. Spread all sides of the bread which will contact the toast plates slightly with butter. You will see, that only few ingredients (e.g. the left-overs of other dishes) are necessary to prepare delicious snacks quite simply and rapidly without any limitation to your phantasy: You may take meat, fish, cheese, sausage, which can be combined with onions, tomatoes, gherkins, mushrooms, and spices to get delicious sandwiches. Or just try to make sweet pastries from puff pastry and fruits such like apples, bananas, pineapple combined with jam or chocolate. Place 1 slice of cheese, ham, and op- tionally pineapple or gherkins on the buttered toast slices (buttered side down). Then put the other toast slices (but- tered side on top) on the sandwich, lay it into the preheated sandwich toaster. Close the toaster and toast the sand- wiches for approx. 2-3 minutes. Sandwich with ricotta or mascarpone and chutney 4 slices toast bread, 100 g ricotta or mascarpone cheese, 1 egg, chutney (e.g. mango chutney), salt and pepper Mix ricotta/mascarpone with the egg, salt, and pepper. Lay two buttered toast slices (buttered side down) on the preheated mould. Press a hollow into the bread with a spoon. Pour the cheese mixture onto this hollow. Add some chutney to taste. Then cover with the other toast slices (buttered side on top), close the unit and toast for approx. 2-3 minutes. Chinese Rolls 1 tblsp oil, 2 scallions, washed and fi- nely chopped, ½ small carrot, peeled and grated, 1 tsp soy sauce, 150 g bean sprouts (can), 50 g peeled prawns, some Sambal Oelek, 4 slices toast bread, some melted butter to spread Heat oil and slightly fry onions, add carrots and continue to fry for 2 mi- nutes. Then add soy sauce, bean sp- routs and prawns and let simmer for a moment. Remove the edges of the toast bread and roll the slices very thinly. But- ter the underside with melted butter. Spread the stuffing on the slices and roll them up. Lay one roll each diago- nally into the moulds of the toaster and toast for about 2-3 minutes. We recommend to accompany this dish with salad. Apple sultana puffs 15 g butter, 250 g peeled and chop- ped apples, 25 g sultanas, 1 tblsp su- gar, ½ tsp cinnamon, 3 tblsp water, 1 tblsp lemon juice, 250 g puff pastry (defrosted), melted butter Melt butter, add apples, sultanas, su- gar, cinnamon, water and lemon juice and cook stirring occasionally until the apples are soft. Roll puff pastry to a 3 mm thick plate and cut it into 13 cm large dough squares. Spread two dough plates with but- ter and place them on the preheated moulds of the sandwich toaster (but- tered side down). Fill 1 tablespoon of the stuffing on each dough plate and cover it with another buttered dough plate (buttered side on top). Close the toaster and bake for approx. 4 minutes,until the puff pastry is gol- den. Serve warm.

Copyright UNOLD AG | www.unold.de33 Beef/ham snacks 175 g cold beef, finely chopped, 75 g cooked ham, finely chopped, 250 g puff pastry (defrosted), 1 egg, beaten, salt, freshly grinded pepper Mix beef and ham and season with salt, pepper and eggs. Then proceed as described for apple sultana puffs. Samosas You can take small quantites of ve- getables for this recipe – ideal to use left-overs. Just vary the stuffing accor- dingly. 125 g flour, 2 pinches of salt, 3 tblsp oil, 2 tblsp water, 150 g jacket pota- toes, peeled and cut into small pieces 1 tblsp oil, 75 g onions, finely chop- ped, 1 ½ tsp curry powder, 75 g defro- sted peas, 1 tsp fresh, grated ginger, 1 small chilli pepper, seeds removed, finely chopped, 2 tblsp water, 1 pinch of cayenne pepper, 2 tblsp lemon juice melted butter, 2 tblsp fresh, finely chopped coriander Sift flour, rub in salt, oil and water and knead thoroughly. Use more water if necessary. Knead for about 10 min. to get a stiff ball of dough. Rub the dough with oil and leave it in a plastic bag for about 30 minutes. Prepare the stuff in the meantime. Fry the onions in oil, add curry powder and continue to fry for a moment, than add peas, ginger, chilli pepper and cook until the peas are soft. Then add the potatoes and other ingredients and let simmer for 3-4 min. Roll the dough and cut it into approx. 13 cm large squares. Brush the prehe- ated moulds of the sandwich toaster with butter, place 2 dough plates on it and add the stuffing. Cover with two other dough plates, brush with melted butter, close the unit and bake the sa- mosas. We recommend a dressing of yoghurt with fresh, chopped coriander or pars- ley and sprinkled with paprika pepper or garam masala. INFORMATIONS AND RECIPES FOR WAFFLE PREPARATION
Attention: Never close the handle locking when preparing waffles, the dough will overflow! The recipes are provided for 8-10 waffles. For waffles we recommmend a medium to high temperature setting. All recipes can be pre- pared with whole wheat or spelt flour instead of fine flour. Then you should take approx. 15% more liquid and leave the dough for about 30 minutes before baking. You make season your sweet waffles with the following: 2 cl rum or ama- retto, 1 tblsp lemon cests, ½ vanilla flavour, 3 tblsp finely chopped nuts or almonds. You may season your salty waffles by adding: 2-3 tblsp finely chopped herbs, grated cheese or cooked ham, 1 tsp curry powder, caraway or 1 tblsp line seed. For most recipes you need not grease the waffle plates. However, if the waf- fle dough does not contain any grease or only few grease you should grease the plates. Take heat-resisting marga- rine (no diet and grease with a brush. Preheat the unit until the green con- trol lamp turns on. Pour one portion of batter on the lower waffle plate and smoothen with a wood spoon. Then close the unit and bake the waffles. When separting the eggs, beat the eggwhite and stir it under the batter before baking to get very light waffles (not for yeast batter). Copyright UNOLD AG | www.unold.de37 Belgian waffles 150 g butter, 150 g sugar, 2 eggs, 1 packet of vanilla sugar, approx. 375 ml milk, 375 g flour, 1 tsp baking powder When you take mineral water instead of milk, the waffles will become crun- chy. Beat butter, sugar, eggs and va- nilla sugar. Add milk, flour and baking powder and prepare a smooth batter. Yeast waffles 150 g soft butter, 4 eggs, 350 ml warm milk, 1 tblsp sugar, 1 packet of vanilla sugar, 250 g flour, 1 packet of dry yeast Mix flour and yeast. Add the other in- gredients and prepare a smooth batter. Leave the batter for 20-30 min. to lea- ven, then bake the waffles. Butter milk waffles 125 g soft butter, 4 eggs, 1 tblsp su- gar, ¼ tsp cinnamon, 1 pinch salt, 250 g flour, 375 ml butter milk, 1 pa- cket of dry yeast Beat butter with eggs, sugar, cinna- mon and salt. Add flour and butter milk to the foamy mass and prepare a smooth batter. Please grease the waf- fle plates carefully! Cream cheese waffles 150 g cream cheese (low-fat), 4 eggs, 100 g soft butter, 4 tblsp sugar, 1 pa- cket of vanilla sugar, 200 g flour, 150 ml milk Beat cream cheese with soft butter, eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar. Add flour and milk and prepare a smooth batter. Please grease the waffle plates carefully! SWEET WAFFLES Cheese waffles 120 g soft butter, 3 egg yolks, 3 tbl- sp condensated milk 1/8 l milk, ½ tsp salt, 1 pinch of sugar, 75 g grated cheese, 200 g flour , 3 whipped egg whites, 1 grated onion Beat butter with eggs, add milk, con- densated milk, egg yolks, sugar, salt, cheese and flour and prepare a smooth dough. Add whipped egg white. Add onions immediately before baking to provide that the dough becomes bit- ter. Eventually add 1 tblsp of chopped parsley. Carrot waffles 150 g soft butter, 2 tblsp sugar, 4 eggs, 100 g finely grated carrots, 1 pinch of f cinnamon, 1 pinch of salt, 250 g flour Prepare a smooth batter of all ingre- dients. Try zucchini instead of carrots. SALTY WAFFLES Copyright UNOLD AG | www.unold.de38 Corn waffles 3 eggs, 50 g soft butter, 3 tblsp ho- ney, 1 tblsp maple syrop, 150 ml milk, 200 g corn flour, 100 g sliced almonds Make a smooth dough of all ingre- dients and leave for about 15 minutes before baking. Please grease the waf- fle plates carefully! Rice waffles 150 g soft rice, 600 ml milk, 1 tblsp sugar, 30 g butter, 4 eggs, ½ tsp cin- namon, 1 pinch of of salt Make a pudding from rice, milk, sugar and butter and let it cool down. Mix eggs, cinnamon and salt with the pud- ding. Please grease the waffle plates carefully! Potato waffles 675 g raw, finely grated potatoes, 2 raw finely chopped onions, 4 eggs, 2 pinches of salt,2 tblsp sour cream, 5 tblsp finely chopped parsley, 100- 125 g potato starch Finely mash the potatoes and onions with a hand blender and mix thorough- ly with the other ingredients. Please grease the waffle plates carefully! WAFFLES FOR PEOPLE SUFFERING OF A GLUTEN ALLERGY INFORMATIONS AND RECIPES FOR THE CONTACT GRILL For grilling we recommend the MAX temperature setting. Always pre- heat the contact grill (until the green lamp turns off). Then place the food you want to grill. You may grill in the opened grill. If you want to do contact grilling, close the upper grill plate over the food which will then be grilled rapidly and uniformly. Your food will be best with a thickness of 1.5-3 cm. The times in the below recipes are provided for contact grilling. Do not close the handle locking. The following recipes are provided for 1-2 persons. Porc medaillons with pepper butter 4 porc medaillons, 125 g butter, 3 tbl- sp green pepper kernels, 1 tsp lemon juice, salt, pepper Beat butter with lemon juice and salt, add pepper, form a roll and put it into the refrigerator. Wash and dry the meat, grill it from both sides for approx. 3–5 minutes in the preheated grill, then season with salt and pep- per. Serve with one slice of the pepper butter. MEAT DISHES Copyright UNOLD AG | www.unold.de39 Turkey steak with herbs 2 small turkey steaks 1 bunch of mixed herbs (parsley, thy- me, majoram, rosemary etc.), 2 tblsp oil, 1 tblsp lemon juice, salt, pepper Wash and dry the steaks. Finely chop the herbs and mix with oil and lemon juice. Lay the steaks into the marinade for 2-3 hrs, turn occasionally. Dry the steaks and grill them in the preheated grill for approx. 8 minutes from both sides. Pineapple steak ½ fresh pineapple, 1 glove of garlic, ½ tsp ground coriander, cayenne pepper, 2 small beef fillet steaks, 2 tsp oil, 4 tblsp crème fraîche, salt, pepper Finely mash one quarter of the pineap- ple with a hand blender, season with chopped garlic, coriander and cayenne pepper. Keep the rest of the pineapple in the refrigerator. Marinate the steaks overnight in pineapple puree. Cut one quarter of the pineapple into slices. Dry the meat and spread it with oil. Grill it from both sides for 3–5 minutes, together with the pineapple slices. Bring the puree to boil, refine it with crème fraîche. Season the steaks, put a little slice of butter on them and ser- ve them with the pineapple puree. Lamb spits with garlic 300 g lamb meat from leg or fillet, 1 onion, 3 gloves of garlic, 3 tblsp olive oil, 2 tblsp herb vinegar, salt, pepper, 2 twigs of thyme , 1 twig of rosemary, 1 bay leaf, 1 red paprika , 2 tomatoes cut into quarters, 100 g yo- ghurt, 1 tblsp crème fraîche, 1 tsp le- mon juice, 1-2 tblsp finely chopped, fresh peppermint Cut the meat into pieces. Finely chop the onion and the garlic. Mix with vi- negar and oil, add salt and pepper. Tear thyme and rosemary leafs from the twigs and add as well as the bay leaf. Marinate the meat overnight in the refrigerator. Put cleaned paprika pieces, meat and tomates on wood spits and grill in the preheated grill from both sides for 4–5 minutes. Mix yoghurt with crème fraîche, lemon juice and peppermint, season with salt and pepper and serve the spits with the sauce. TIP: If you should not get fresh peppermint, just take dried pep- permint! Chicken spits with fruit 300 g chicken breast, 2 medium oni- ons, 1 sour apple, 1 banana, lemon juice, 1 tblsp peanut oil, salt, pepper, curry powder Cut the chicken into cubes. Cut the onions into quarters, peel and cut the apple. Cut the banana into approx. 3 cm long pieces. Sprinkle the fruits with lemon juice.
