Putting into use Before using for the fi rst time

1. Remove the packaging. Remove the lid from the deep fryer.

The frying baskets (7) are in the fryer. Take all of the objects out of the fryer.

2. We recommend cleaning the lid (9), housing (8), container

(6) and frying baskets (7) as described under „Cleaning“.

3. Push the control device (5) into the guide mechanism as ne-

cessary until it is fi rmly in place. Please pull the connecting cable out of the cable compartment (11). Useful hints for use

1. Always remove the food remaining in the oil (e.g. pieces of

French fries). Change the oil after using it 8-10 times. Use high quality frying oil or frying grease.

2. Fats and oils must be heatable to high temperatures. Do not

use margarine, olive oil or butter: they are not fi t for frying, because they start to smoke already at low temperatures. We recommend the use of liquid frying oil.

Please note this important information if you intend to use fat! If you use fat, please divide it up into small pieces. Turn the thermostat to a low temperature and add the pieces slowly. Once the fat has melted and the correct oil level is reached you can set the desired temperature on the thermostat. Under no circumstances should you place the fat in the frying baskets!

3. In order to reduce the acrylamide content of food containing

starch (potatoes, cereals) the temperature during deep-fat frying should not exceed 170° C (or possibly 175° C). Fur- thermore, the frying time should be kept as short as possible and the food only fried until it turns golden yellow.

4. Please note that the safety switch (1) is operated when the

control element is inserted into the guide mechanism.

5. Choose the right frying temperature and check the condi-

tions of the food to be fried. A rule of thumb is that pre-fried foods require a higher temperature than raw foods.

6. Do not carry or move the deep fryer if the oil or grease is still

7. When frying dough-like foods scrape off the excess dough

and put the pieces carefully into the oil.

8. Please ensure that the handle(s) on the frying basket(s)

has/have been properly tightened.

  • Press the ends of the wire together at the free end of the handle.
  • Insert the brackets into wire hoops inside the basket.
  • The deep fat frying basket must not be more than 2/3 full. Do not overfi ll the frying basket (The maximum fi lling quantity for chips is 200g per litre of oil/fat).

9. Rub dry humid foods with a cloth before frying.

In the case of foodstuffs which are too moist (e.g. frozen chips etc.) large amounts of foam may form, which under certain circumstances may cause the oil to overfl ow. Use

1. Make sure that the appliance is unplugged and switched off

(The control lamps (2+3) are off.).

2. Take the lid off the deep fryer.

3. Remove the frying baskets and fi ll oil or fat into the container

(not more than 4,0 l). The fi lling level must be located between the minimum and the maximum level

4. Insert the plug into a 230 V, 50 Hz power socket. The red

POWER control lamp (2) lights up. Set the thermostat (4) by turning it to the desired temperature. Place the lid back in position.

5. Both control lamps are now on. Once the set temperature

has been reached the green HEAT control lamp (3) goes off. The red control lamp remains on and indicates the machine is working. Remove the lid and place the frying basket/baskets containing the food to be fried carefully into the hot. Place the lid back in position.

6. The green control lamp switches on and off several times

during frying. This is normal and it indicates that the temperature is controlled by the thermostat and is being maintained. Once the frying time is over (the frying times are to be found on the packaging of the food or in the recipe), please take out the frying basket.

7. Please allow the oil to drain a little from the food being fried

by suspending the frying basket or baskets on the edge of the frying fat container.

8. In order to switch off the machine, please turn the tempe-

rature regulator to O and remove the plug from the socket. Wind the mains lead up in the form of a spiral in the cable compartment. Cleaning

1. Make sure that the plug is pulled out.

2. Wait until the deep fryer is completely cool before cleaning.

Wait in any case for 1 to 2 hours after use before using again to avoid burns.

3. Pull the control device (5) out by lifting it. In order to change

the oil, pull the frying fat container out and pour the oil out to the side.

4. Please do not immerse the device in water.

5. Clean the deep frying fat container, the lid and the housing

with a damp clothand household detergent if necessary. Never immerse the lid in water.

6. The frying baskets can be cleaned in the usual manner in

7. Avoid using abrasive materials or sharp objects. These may

damage the deep fryer!

8. Reassemble the deep fryer and push the control device (5)

Changing the Odour and Fat Vapour Filter Press the clamp of the fi lter cover inwards and remove it by pulling it forwards.

  • Then reassemble the cover. NOTE: When these fi lters have been used up it is possible to cut universal fi lters to size, e.g. from cooker hoods. Troubleshooting Device is not working Troubleshooting: Check the mains connection. Check the position of the thermostat. Other possible causes: The device is fi tted with a safety switch (1). This prevents the heater being switched on accidentally. Troubleshooting: Check that the control element is correctly in place. Overheating Protection
  • If you should accidentally switch on your deep fat fryer when there is no oil or fat in it the overheating protection is automatically turned on. The appliance is no longer ready to be used. Unplug the deep fryer.
  • Only after the device has been left to cool down completely should the „RESET“ button (12) on the rear of the control element be operated in order to use the deep fat fryer again.
