Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.

• The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.
• Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
• When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
• Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket.

• The device and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the device must not be used.

• Use only original spare parts.

• In order to ensure your children's safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

Special Safety Instructions for this Machine

WARNING: Danger of burning!

• Hold the cover and the egg tray by the handle.
• Hot steam is released from the lid and when opening the cover! Risk of burning!

WARNING:

• Please be careful when handling the measuring beaker as it has a pointed spike underneath! Danger of injury!
• CAUTION: Avoid injuries from the egg pricker.

CAUTION:

• Please ensure that the cable does not come into contact with the hot parts of the appliance.

• Never turn on the egg cooker on without water.

• Use only cold water when filling.

• Do not allow decalcification agents to come into contact with the hot plate.
• Use the appliance only on a level work surface.
• Do not move the device and do not touch it when it is working.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the appliance understand the hazards involved.
• Cleaning and maintenance by the user shall not be made by children unless they are older 8 years and supervised.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
  Children shall not play with the appliance.
• Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.

• Only use the appliance in a dry, indoor area. It is intended for domestic use and similar areas of use such as e.g.

CAUTION:

Do not insert the device into water for cleaning.

• Please follow the instructions as stipulated in the chapter "Cleaning".

First Use of the Machine

• Take out all the parts carefully out of the packing. Save the packing and the inner packing material for the whole duration of the warranty.
• Clean the device before using it for the first time as described in "Cleaning".

Mains Lead

Unwind the required mains lead from the base.

Operation

1. Place the machine on a flat surface.
2. Fill the cooking bowl with the amount of water signaled on the measuring beaker for the number of eggs to be boiled.

NOTE:

As the degree of cooking depends on several factors, it is advisable in the case of large (egg sizes L and XL) or cold eggs to use slightly more water. If the eggs are too hard, please pour slightly less water than stated in the cooking bowl, or slightly more if the eggs are too soft.

1. The markings on the beaker have the following meaning:

soft for soft-boiled eggs
weich The individual lines above the words show
mollet the number of eggs (1-7).

medium between hard and soft-boiled.
mittel The individual lines above the words show medium the number of eggs (1-7).

hard for hard-boiled eggs.
hart The individual lines above the words show dur the number of eggs (1-7).

1. Insert the egg tray.
2. Pierce the eggs on the bottom to avoid that they crack. Please use the pricker on the underside of the measuring beaker. Press the egg delicately against the piercing needle until the egg is pierced.
3. Distribute the eggs evenly and one opposite the other in the egg tray.
4. Cover it with the lid.
5. Insert the plug in a duly installed 230 V/50 Hz socket.
6. Turn the device on using the on/off switch. The control lamp now illuminates.
7. The eggs are ready when the buzzer sounds. Switch the device off and remove the mains plug from the socket.

8. Please hold the lid by the handle and put it to one side. Caution! Hot.

9. Take the egg tray out of the cooking bowl and run the eggs briefly under cold water so that they do not continue cooking.

10. Leave the device to cool before putting it away!

Mains Cable Take-up Device

The mains cable can be wound up on the base.

Cleaning

WARNING:

Always remove the plug from the mains supply before cleaning the machine.
- Never insert the device into water for cleaning.

• The exterior of the machine should be cleaned, if necessary, with a slightly damp cloth without additives.
• Wash the lid and the egg tray in a normal sink.
• Allow the unit to cool down before you put it away.

Decalcification

• The decalcification intervals depend on the hardness of the water and the frequency of use.
• If the machine switches off before the water boils, it probably needs to be decalcified.
• Do not use vinegar, but a normal citric acid-based decalcifier. Follow the manufacturers' instructions.
