4 CHARGING THE MODEL
Attention: The battery and motor must cool down for 15 to 30 minutes before charging and alter every flight. Otherwise they can be damaged. The charging process must be constantly monitored. Always ensure that the charging process takes place on a fireproof surface in a fire-resistant environment.
4A Switch off the helicopter and the remote control, disconnect the battery plug (1D) and the battery connection (1E). Connect the balancer unit to the mains adapter and plug the mains adapter into a mains socket. The left LED on the charger illuminates red; the right LED slowly blinks green.
4B Insert the battery plug (1D) in the socket on the balancer unit. The right LED on the charger illuminates green continuously when the charging process starts.
4C The charging process is complete as soon as the green LED on the charger goes out. Then disconnect the battery from the charger and remove the charger from the mains socket.
The model can fly for approx. 5-7 minutes after a charge time of up to 150 minutes.
5 START PREPARATION
5A The control for thrust (2A) must point down before the remote control is switched on. To switch on the remote control, move the ON/OFF switch (2I) forward. The power LED (2D) flashes.
58 To switch on the model, first connect the battery plug (1D) to the battery connection (1E). Then switch the ON/OFF switch (1F) to ON. Place the helicopter on the ground so that its tail points toward you.
5C Then briefly move the control for thrust (2A) forward and back again. After a few seconds for initialisation, the Power LED illuminates continuously.
After the flight, first switch off the helicopter, then the remote control.
6 TRIM ADJUSTMENT OF THE CONTROL
The correct trim is a basic requirement for fault-free flying behavior of the model.
6A
If the helicopter begins to automatically rotate clockwise quickly or slowly ...
If the model begins to quickly or slowly rotate clockwise by itself, press the left/right trim control (2F) to the left incrementally until the model no longer rotates by itself.
6B
If the helicopter begins to automatically rotate anti-clockwise quickly or slowly ...
If the model begins to quickly or slowly rotate anticlockwise by itself, press the left/right trim control (2F) to the right incrementally until the model no longer rotates by itself.
7 FLIGHT CONTROL
7A Take off or increase altitude by carefully moving the control for thrust (2A) forward.
78 Land or decrease altitude by moving the control for thrust (2A) backwards. Only minimal corrections to the controller are necessary to ensure smoothing flying of the model.
7C To fly along a left-handed curve, carefully move the control for forward/ backward and clockwise/anti-clockwise rotation (28) to the left, as long as the model tail is facing toward the pilot.
70 To fly along a right-handed curve, carefully move the control for forward/backward and clockwise/anti-clockwise rotation (2B) to the right, as long as the model tail is facing toward the pilot.
7E Fly forward by moving the control for forward/backward flight and right/left rotation (2B) carefully forward.
7F Fly backwards by moving the control for forward/backward flight and right/left rotation (2B) carefully backward.
76 Pressing the button for speed (2E) activates the second speed level. Pressing the button again switches back to the first speed level.
7H Use button (2C) to switch the IFD on the nose of the helicopter on and off.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SAFE FLYING
GENERAL FLYING TIPS:
- Always place the model on a level surface. An inclined surface can, under certain circumstances, have a negative impact on the starting behavior of the model.
Always operate the controls slowly and with a gentle touch.
Always maintain visual contact with the model and do not look at the remote control! - Move the thrust control down again somewhat as soon as the model lifts off from the ground. Maintain flying altitude by adjusting the thrust controller.
If the model lowers, move the thrust control slightly upward again.
If the model climbs, move the thrust control down slightly
In order to fly along a curve, it often suffices to tap the control for forward/back and clockwise/anti-clockwise rotation very slightly in the respective direction. There is a general tendency during preliminary attempts at flight to operate the model's controls too aggressively. The control for forward/backward and clockwise/anti-clockwise rotation should always be moved slowly and carefully. Never fast and fitfully. - Beginners should first master trimming before attempting to master the thrust controller. The model does not necessarily have to lie straight at the beginning – initially, it is more important to maintain a constant height of approximately one meter above the ground by repeatedly tapping the thrust control, only then should the pilot practice steering the model left and right.
SUITABLE FLYING ENVIRONMENT:
The location in which the helicopter is flown should fulfil the following criteria:
- It should be an indoor location without any wind. Insofar as possible, there should be no air conditioning systems, heaters, etc. that can cause air currents.
The room should be at least 10 metres long, six metres wide and three metres high.
- No disruptive objects, such as fans, lamps, etc. should be present in the room.
- When initialising take-off, make absolutely sure that all persons and animals
- including the pilot - are at least 1-2 metres removed from the aircraft before flight begins.
Always watch the aircraft to ensure it does not fly into and injure the pilot, other
8 CHANGING THE ROTOR BLADES
If the rotor blades of the helicopter should become damaged, they must be replaced. To do so, proceed as follows:
8A Prior to installation, make sure that you do not mix up the rotor blades. The rotor blades are marked with A (top) and B (bottom).
88 Unscrew the blade retaining screw in anticlockwise motion.
8C Remove the defective rotor blade and replace it with a new one. Screw in the blade retaining screw.
8D Tail rotor: Unscrew the screw in the centre of the rotor blade in an anticlockwise motion
8E Place the new tail rotor on the shaft and tighten the screw again.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem: The rotor blades do not move.
Cause: The ON/OFF switch is set to the "OFF" position. The battery is too weak or depleted.
Remedy: Set the ON/OFF switch to the "ON" position Charge the battery.
Problem: The helicopter stops and descends during flight for no apparent reason.
Cause: The battery is too weak.
Remedy: Charge the battery.
Problem: It isn't possible to control the helicopter using the remote control.
Cause: The ON/OFF switch is set to the "OFF" position.
The batteries were not inserted correctly.
The batteries do not have enough power.
Remedy: Set the ON/OFF switch to the "ON" position.
-
Check whether the batteries are inserted correctly.
-
Insert new batteries
Problem: The helicopter only rotates around its axis clockwise or anti-clockwise.
