Frequently Asked Questions - HP507 ROLAND

How to connect the HP507 to a Wi-Fi network to use the Piano Partner app?
To connect the HP507, insert the WNA1100-RL wireless USB adapter into the USB MEMORY port, then follow the WPS procedure: hold down [Key Touch] and [Transpose], navigate to 'Wireless' > 'Connect' > 'WPS', then press the WPS button on the router and confirm on the piano.
What to do if the HP507 fails to connect to the Wi-Fi network?
Check that your access point supports WPS and uses the 802.11g/n (2.4 GHz) standard. Make sure authentication is WPA or WPA2 (not WEP). Enable DHCP on the router. If necessary, use the manual connection 'Select AP' and enter the password.
How to use Ad-Hoc mode to directly connect the HP507 to an iPad without a router?
Enable Ad-Hoc mode in 'Wireless' > 'Option' > 'Ad-Hoc' = 'On'. Note the SSID and key (5 digits). On the iPad, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, select the SSID (e.g., HP507) and enter the key. Ad-Hoc mode does not allow Internet access, but the iPad can use its cellular connection.
The Piano Partner app does not find the HP507, what to check?
Make sure the HP507 is on, the Wi-Fi adapter is inserted, the piano is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the iPad, and the router allows communication between devices. Also check the network status on the piano (icon at the bottom left).
How to check the system version of the HP507?
Hold down the [-] and [+] buttons while turning on the HP507. The version is displayed on the screen. For example, version 2.00 adds the wireless LAN function.
Can I use other wireless adapters than the WNA1100-RL?
Roland specifically recommends the WNA1100-RL adapter (sold separately). Other adapters may not be compatible or may not work correctly with the HP507.
How to maintain the keyboard and cabinet of the HP507?
Use a soft, dry cloth to dust. Never use solvents, alcohol, or abrasive products. For the keyboard, you can use a slightly damp cloth if necessary, but avoid excess moisture.
What does the 'Error 46' icon mean during Wi-Fi connection?
Error 46 indicates that the access point is not supported. Make sure to use WPA or WPA2 authentication, not WEP. Also check that your router is compatible with 802.11g/n.
How to reset the network settings of the HP507 to factory defaults?
Perform a factory reset via the 'Function' menu (hold [Key Touch] + [Transpose]). All Wi-Fi connection data will be deleted. You will need to reconfigure the connection after reset.
Is the sound of the HP507 sampled or synthesized?
The HP507 uses SuperNATURAL Piano technology, which combines multichannel sampling and modeling for a realistic piano sound, without audible loops. It also offers many other sounds (organ, strings, etc.).
