Frequently Asked Questions - SF3000 ALPINA

Which fruits cannot be used with the juicer?

The juicer cannot process bananas, peaches, apricots, mangoes, papayas as they do not produce juice. Also avoid coconut and other hard foods that could damage the motor.

Do I need to peel citrus fruits before putting them in the juicer?

Yes, you must remove the peels of citrus fruits (oranges, lemons, etc.) as well as the pits of cherries before inserting them into the chute.

Can I run the appliance continuously for a long time?

No, do not leave the juicer on for more than 2 minutes at a time. After 2 minutes, turn it off and let it cool for at least 2 minutes before using again.

How to clean the filter?

Use a small toothbrush (not included) to easily clean the filter. Rinse the parts under clean water. Do not put them in the dishwasher.

What to do if apple juice browns quickly?

Add a few drops of lemon juice to the apple juice to slow down oxidation and prevent it from browning too fast.

Can the motor be immersed in water?

No, never immerse the motor block in water or any other liquid. Clean it only with a damp cloth.

What to do in case of food jamming in the chute?

Use another piece of fruit or vegetable to push the stuck food. If that does not work, turn off the appliance, unplug it, and disassemble it to remove the food.

Does the warranty cover all defects?

The 2-year warranty covers material and manufacturing defects. It does not cover normal wear, fragile parts (ceramic, bulbs) or damage caused by misuse.

Can I use the juicer to make juice from watermelon or orange?

The juicer is not suitable for very juicy fruits like watermelon or orange because their juice has too low viscosity. These fruits are not recommended.

How to properly assemble the appliance?

Make sure the lid (part 2) and the safety locks (part 5) are aligned on the same side. Turn the upper part (part 4) if necessary. The appliance will only work if the lid is correctly locked.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

1. Read all instructions carefully.
2. This appliance may only be connected to the same main voltage as shown on the rating plate.
3. To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not immerse or rinse housing, cord or plug in water or other liquid.

16. The use of attachment not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
17. Always make sure juicer cover is clamped down securely in place before motor is turned ON. Do not fasten or unfasten clamps while juicer is in operation. Unit is designed to shut off automatically if protective cover is not fastened securely in place.
18. The appliance is not to be operated without the cover locked in place by the securing clamps. NEVER OPERATE UNIT UNLESS IT IS FULLY ASSEMBLED.
19. Be sure to turn switch to OFF position after each use of your juicer. Make sure the motor stops completely before disassembling.
20. Do not put fingers or other objects into juicer opening while it is in operation. If food becomes lodged in opening, use food pusher or another piece of fruit or vegetable to push it down. If this doesn't work, turn the motor off, unplug unit, then disassemble juicer to remove remaining food.
21. Make sure filter basket is firmly attached to adaptor.
22. Do not overload appliance or use excessive force to press food through the feeding hole.
23. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
24. Sharp Blade-Always use food pusher.

CAUTION: GRATER HAS SHARP BLADE-ALWAYS USE PUSHER, BECAREFUL OF MOVING PARTS. KEEP FINGER'S OUT OF FEEDER AND DISCHARGE OPENINGS.UNPLUG UNIT BEFORE CLEANING AND BEFORE ASSEMBLING AND REMOVING PARTS.

Before using, please make ensure the lid (part2) with arrow sign and the securing clamps (part 5) with arrow sign are on the same side. If necessary, turn the upper body (part 4).

GUIDE FOR EXTRACTING JUICES

• When making a mix drink, use the softer ingredients first, then the harder ones.
• Vitamins disappear quickly after extraction of the fruits and vegetables. The juice should be consumed as soon as possible.
• Apple juice turns brown rapidly. A few drops of lemon juice will keep it from turning brown too quickly.
  The pulp can be used as a base for soups, sauces, jams, and desserts.

HOW TO USE:

Please note that safety interlock prevents unit from operating unless protective cover is clamped securely in place.

1. Before plugging unit into power source, make sure the switch is OFF and the securing clamps unit into power source. Make sure the switch is off and the securing clamps are safely locked.
2. Wash fruits and vegetables well. Cut fruits into small pieces so they can fit into the feeding funnel.

(a) The juice extractor cannot process bananas, peaches, apricots, mangos, Papayas, etc. because no juice can be squeezed from those fruits.
(b) The juice extractor cannot process coconut or other hard items because they may damage the motor and filter.
(c) Peels must be removed from citrus fruits, remove pits from cherries. Prune, etc. before feeding them into the funnel.
(d) The juice extractor is not suitable for processing the succulent fruits or the fruits that the juice viscosity is low, such as watermelons, oranges, etc.
3. Making sure that the indicate volt is suited to local electrical service and then plug the cord into power outlet.
4. Switch the power "ON".
5. Insert the prepared fruits into the feeding funnel and gently push the plunger down.
6. When residue or juice cups are full, switch the power "OFF" and empty the containers before continuing to process.
7. After using, switch appliance "OFF" and unplug the unit.

DO NOT RUN JUICER CONTINUOUSLY FOR LONGER THAN 2 MINUTES.TURN OFF SWITCH AND LET IT REST FOR AT LEAST 2 MINUTES TO COOL DOWN THE MOTOR, AND TO CLEAN CLEAR THE LID AND THE UP BODY. IF NOT MOTOR MAY BECOME DAMAGED.

HELPFUL HINTS:

1. The best results are obtained when using young and particularly fresh vegetables and fruits. In general, the softer the vegetable and riper the fruit, the thicker and less clear the juice will be.
2. Wash fruits and vegetables and dry them well, if possible.
3. Cut fruits and carrots into strips.
4. Roll leafy vegetables into clumps.

2. Open the securing clamps, remove the container cover, upper body and the filter. Clean these parts under running water. Do not use a dishwasher or very hot water.
3. To clean the filter easily, use a small toothbrush (not included) is recommended.
4. WARNING: DO NOT IMMERSE MOTOR HOUSING IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.MOTOR MUST ALWAYS BE KEPT DRY. USE A DAMP CLOTH TO CLEAN THE MOTOR HOUSING.

6. Dry all parts.
7. Reassemble all parts in proper order and store the appliance in a dry place.
8. Unplug before cleaning and before assembling or removing parts.
