USER MANUAL 281 Cloer
- The appliance is intended to be used in household only and using in: – staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments, – in farm houses, – by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments, on bed and breakfast type environments.
- Have repairs of Cloer electronic appliances carried out only by authorized Cloer specialist dealers or by the Cloer customer service. Improper repairs can involve substantial dangers for the user. Furthermore, this will void your warranty claims.
- Only operate the appliance at household-usual power sockets. Check if the mains voltage stated on the type plate is up to that of your power supply network.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Cloer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- Pull power plug of the power socket – in case of a defect, – if the appliance is not used, – before any cleaning.
- Only pull at the plug, never at the feed cable.
- Do not stretch the feed cable over sharp edges and do not tighten it too tight, do not use it for carrying and protect it from heat (hotplate, for example).
- Do not tighten the feed cable too tight as otherwise the appliance is likely to tip over. Do not stretch the feed cable over sharp edges.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Do not leave children unattended to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8years.
- Do not immerse the appliance in water.
- Protect the appliance from humidity (splashing water or rain)
- Let the appliance cool off before cleaning or stowing away. More information about proper cleaning on the following pages
- Do not use the appliance outdoors.
- This appliance should not be operated due to an external timer or seperate remote control system.
- Caution! The baking surfaces of the appliance become hot during operation. Danger of being burned! EN8
Before the first use Read these operating instructions carefully before using the appliance for the first time.
- Remove all packaging elements and stickers, but not the rating plate and the serial number.
- Place the Crispy cone maker on a dry, flat, nonslip surface.
- Clean the baking surface with a damp cloth.
- The two first crispy cones are unfit for human con
sumption because of hygienical reasons. Due to the production residues some smoke can appeared during the first minutes. Therefore, ensure good ventilation during the first time. CE Label / Safety information The appliance meets the requirements of the applicable CE directives. The appliance is designed for indoor domestic use only. ATTENTION! Always unplug the appliance when not in use and before cleaning.
- Use wood or heat resistant plastic cutlery, otherwise the non-stick surface could be damaged.
- Appliances with white or light-coloured plastic parts or casings generally take on a brownish hue after a short time. This is caused by the steam from baking and cannot be avoided.
- Remark: Do not use acidic ingredients in the dough (e.g. fruit, fruit juices), these could damage the ba
king plates. Preheating Plug the appliance into the wall socket. Set the con- troller to 1 to preheat the appliance. Preheating in a higher level should be avoided in order not to over
heat the coat. ATTENTION! Appliance becomes hot. Do not touch any part of the appliance except the handles or the operating elements.
1. Appliances with audible signal and
indicator lights (Type 281 and 285)
- The red control lamp lights up.
- After some minutes the red control lamp goes out and the green one lights up. An audible signal appears.
2. Appliances with indicator lights (Type 271)
- The red control lamp lights up.
- After some minutes the red control lamp goes out and the green one lights up.
3. Appliance with control lamp (Type 261)
- The red control lamp lights up.
- After some minutes the red control lamp goes out.
4. Appliance without temperature regulator (Type 260)
- Heat up appliance until the red control lamp goes out (approx. 6 minutes). Baking

ted, for this reason, you should wait until the following crispy cone before changing the browning level.
- Fill the batter in the middle of the lower baking tin. When baking crispy cones it is important to ascertain the exact batter quantity (approx. 1 level tablespoon). You should try to avoid the batter not running into the overflow rim which is about an inch. Should this happen to you by mistake, particularly during the first baking trials, you can simply break off the excess batter from the rolled, cold croissant.
- For making your crispy cones a success it is important to close the appliance after having filled in the batter and to press the handles together. Due to the pressure the bat
ter is fast and evenly spread and browned.
- Take the crispy cones out of the appliance immedia
tely after termination of the baking process. We re- commend to use a wooden fork.
- After having been taken out the crispy cones must be rolled by return when they are still hot. As soon as they are cooled down they cannot be rolled any more.
- Advice: You can use a champagne glass for rolling the crispy cones.

4. Appliance without temperature regulator
- Grease the baking surfaces before each baking pro
cess, as this appliance has not a non-stick coating. Use margarine or butter for greasing, no oil.
- The control lamp indicates only the operating con
dition. Regarding this appliance you must ascertain the baking time for the requested browning level by means of a watch. Cleaning
- Please unplug the appliance before cleaning.
- Use a paper towel to clean the appliance while still warm.
- Afterwards, wipe the crispy cone maker with a damp cloth, but never under running water.
- Tip: Place two absorbent paper towels between the baking surfaces and close the appliance.
- Do not use caustic cleaning agents. Tips If a crispy cone does not turn out right, there may be many reasons for this. The following section provides some tips for successful crispy cones.
- Use only premium quality flour.
- Make sure to have all ingredients at the same tem
perature, and mix the batter until it is smooth. Use melted butter that is lukewarm.
- For crispy crispy cones, do not use milk. Milk will make the crispy cones soft.
- The batter should be thick, but should drip from the spoon. Fill the baking form completely with batter. A small serving spoon is ideal.
- You can store crispy cones for several weeks without a problem provided you keep them in a tightly sealed container or pot.
- Fillings for sweet crispy cones: – ice cream, whipped cream, butter cream, fruit
