USER MANUAL 6679 Cloer
- The appliance is intended to be used in household only and similar environments like: - staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments, in farm houses, - by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments - on bed and breakfast type environments.
- Repairs of Cloer electronics appliances should be carried out only by the Cloer customer service. Improper repairs can involve substantial dangers for the user. Moreover, this will void your warranty claims.
- Operate the appliance only at household-usual power sockets. Check if the mains voltage stated on the type plate is up to that of your power supply network.
- The appliance should be connected to a protective grounding conductor.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Cloer to avoid damage.
- Pull power plug of the power socket - in case of a defect - if the appliance is not in use. - before any cleaning.
- Only pull at the plug, never at the feed cable.
- Do not stretch the feed cable over sharp edges and do not tighten it too tight, do not use the feed cable for carrying and protect it from heat (hotplate, for example).
- Do not place the appliance near hot surfaces such as a gas- or electric cooker or oven.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years to avoid they play with it.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors.
- Protect your appliance from humidity (splash water / rain).
- This appliance is not intended to be used with a timer or external accessories.
- Never leave the appliance unattended while in use.
- Let the appliance cool down completely, clean the appliance and all accessories immediately after it has cooled down and before stowing away. More information about proper cleaning on the following pages.
- Do not immerse the appliance in water.
- Caution: Be aware that the device gets very hot when in use. Please only handle the fondue pot by the handles to avoid burns.
- Risk of burns: Do not move the appliance if it is switched on and the heating plate is hot or if the fondue pot is filled with hot oil or the like.
- Do not fill the fondue pot above the MAX mark. If the contents bubble over, there is a risk of scalding.
- Caution! Fire hazard! Hot oils/fats can ignite very easily. Special care must be taken if the oil or fats are reused and/or if they are contaminated. Do not pour water into the burning or hot oil/fat if it overheats. If there is a flame, proceed as follows: Cautiously place a lid on the fondue pot to suffocate the flames. GB7 Where possible, use a glove, damp cloth or similar to avoid injury. Immediately unplug the appliance if it overheats.
- Do not use the device for any purpose other than that intended.
- Caution! Avoid injuries resulting from the sharp ends of the fondue forks.

- Read these operating instructions carefully before using the appliance for the first time.
- Remove all packaging elements and stickers, but not the rating plate.
- Place the fondue set on a dry, non-slip, level surface.
- Clean the fondue pot, fork insert and forks with a damp cloth before the first use.
- Dry all parts thoroughly before use. CE Label / Safety information The appliance meets the requirements of the applicable EC directives. The appliance is designed for indoor domestic use only. CAUTION! Unplug from outlet when not in use, and each time before cleaning the appliance. Operation
- Pour the desired amount of oil, fat, broth or cheese into the fondue pot.
- Do not overfill the appliance. The maximum capacity is 1.5 litres and the minimum capacity 0.725 litres.
- Now place the fondue pot on the heating plate.
- Then place the fork insert on the fondue pot.
- Plug the mains plug into the socket.
- First set the temperature knob to the highest setting.
- During operation, the thermostat cycles to reach and maintain the set temperature. You can tell by the red indicator light that switches on and off. Heating tips The appliance takes approx. 15 minutes to heat 1 litre of oil to 180 °C.
- If using cheese, you can start as soon as the chee
se is melted. While melting, the cheese should be stirred well to prevent burning. Then set the heat regulator to level 2-3 to keep the cheese hot.
- Only use cheeses that are suitable for fondues. CAUTION! The fondue pot is not suitable for use on ceramic, gas or induction hotplates.
- Chop fondue ingredients into bite-sized pieces.
- Frozen ingredients should be thawed before adding them to the fondue.
- Use the forks to carefully pick up ingredients and then place the forks in the holder provided.
- Make sure that the tips of the forks do not scratch the bottom of the pot. Fondue pot tips Avoid boiling the contents of the fondue pot too much. If necessary, turn down the temperature slightly.
- After use, switch off the fondue set by turning the temperature controller to the left as far as it will go and unplugging. CAUTION! Let the appliance cool off before cleaning or stowing away. Tips on oil use
- Use only fresh and uncontaminated oil. Old fat can be recognised by its smell and its altered consistency (foamy, darker and usually viscous). We recommend using the fat/oil a maximum of three times, regard
less of the above assessment.
- Keep oils homogeneous - do not combine different types together.
- Never mix oil or other fats with water.
- Do not add spice mixtures or the like to the oil and do not use aromatic oils or oils containing additives.
- We recommend using vegetable oil such as coconut oil, sunflower oil, vegetable fat, etc.
- Animal fats are not suitable for use in fondues.
- The fondue pot should always be thoroughly cleaned. Tips on the keep warm function The fondue set and its heating plate are also suitable for heating or keeping food warm. Use the supplied fondue pot for this purpose. GB8 Cleaning
- Always disconnect the mains plug before cleaning.
- Allow the unit to cool down.
- Never immerse the appliance in water.
- Wipe the housing with a damp cloth.
- Do not use harsh cleaning products, scrubbing spon
- The fondue pot non-stick coating prevents excessive burn-on and facilitates cleaning.
- The fondue pot and forks are dishwasher safe. To ma
ximise their service life, we do however recommend cleaning them in warm water with a little detergent. Environmentally friendly disposal We use environmentally friendly packaging for the transport of our appliances. Please recycle cardbo
