In line with national regulations regarding the disposal of packaging materials, we pay a fee to authorised recyclers who collect packaging from dealers. However, we recommend that you keep the original cardboard box and the rest of the pa- ckaging materials so that the unit can, if necessary, be transported in the safest possible conditions. The unit Important: The EU Directive 2002/96/EG governs the proper re-acceptance, handling and recycling of used electronic appliances. Old electronic appliances must therefore be disposed of sepa- rately. Never throw this set in the normal domestic waste. You can hand in your old set free of charge at identi ed collection points or at your dealer if you buy a similar new set. Other details about re-acceptance (also for non-EU countries) are available from your local administration. Cleaning It is possible that the packaging material may leave marks on the surface of the oor-standing speaker. This does not mean that the surface has been damaged. These marks can be easily removed using water mixed with a little washing-up liquid and applied using a soft cloth (e.g. micro bre). Only clean your Individual Sound loudspeaker system with a damp, soft, clean cloth (without aggressive cleaning agents). For your safety For your safety and to avoid unnecessary damage to your TV set, please read and observe the following safety instructions:
- Your Individual Sound loudspeaker system is designed exclusively for playing audio signals.
- You must switch off your system (Individual Sound loudspeaker system, Auro, TV and any other components which may be connected) before you can connect or disconnect other devices or loudspeakers. Protect your Individual Sound loudspeaker system against ...
- Damp, moisture, rain, splashing water or dew
- Knocks and mechanical stresses
- Magnetic and electrical elds
- Higher electrical powers than speci ed
- Cold, heat, direct sunlight and extreme temperature variations
- Covering which obstructs air circulation
- Manipulations inside the set
- Do not place any containers lled with liquids or lit candles on top of the unit. Your Individual Sound loudspeaker system has been designed exclusively for pri- vate household use. Warranty services cover this use for the intended purpose.
WARNING: TO RULE OUT THE DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT REMOVE
THE COVER (OR THE REAR PANEL OF THE UNIT). THERE ARE NO PARTS INSIDE THE HOUSING WHICH CAN BE REPAIRED BY THE USER. HAVE REPAIRS DONE ONLY BY YOUR LOEWE DEALER. If you have moved your Individual Sound loudspeaker system out of the cold into a warm environment, leave it for about an hour because of the possible forming of condensation. Do not switch on until it has reached room tempera- ture. This avoids seriously damaging the components. Welcome- 16 English Setting up Installing the subwoofer and satellite speakers Basic information
- Place subwoofer, standing speaker and satellite speakers with stand on a rm, level base.
- Do not place the subwoofers and speakers near to strong sources of heat or in direct sunlight.
- When installing in a cabinet or closed shelf: Leave about 2.5 cm free around the subwoofer to allow unobstructed air circulation to avoid build-up of heat and sound pressure.
- Pull out the power cable during thunderstorms. Surge voltages caused by lightning strikes can damage the TV through the antenna system and the mains.
- Also remove the antenna and mains plugs in long periods of absence.
- The power plug of the TV set must be easily accessible so that the TV can be disconnected from the power supply at all times.
- Lay the speaker and power cables in such a way that they cannot be dama- ged. The power cable may not be kinked or laid over sharp edges, not stood on and not exposed to chemicals; the latter also applies to the system as a whole. A power cable with damaged insulation can lead to electric shocks and is a re risk and must therefore be changed by quali ed service personnel before operation of the set continues.
- When removing the power plug, pull the plug housing and not the cable. The wires in the plug could be damaged and cause a short circuit the next time it is plugged in.
- The speakers generate magnetic dispersion elds which act in the vicinity of the housing. We recommend a minimum distance of > 0.5 m from magneti- cally sensitive equipment such as CRT-TV sets, magnetic data media etc. Satellite loudspeakers The satellite speakers should all be positioned at ear height, i.e. about 1 m above the oor. Use the stands or wall holders available as accessories or place the speakers at the appropriate height on pieces of furniture or on shelves. For the best possible listening experience, the front and surround speakers should be placed symmetrically to the TV set and your sitting position – see the illustrations overleaf. If this is not possible, correct the distance and level of the speakers with the speaker con guration menu of the preceiver or AV receiver. Subwoofer You can position the subwoofer anywhere on the oor. We recommend you to place it in one of the front corners of the room so that the bass signals radiate freely. The subwoofer speaker can be placed in three different positions:
To do this, mount the 4 self-adhesive feet provided on the left-hand side of the speaker. Mount the (optional) speaker cover to protect the speaker (available from your dealer) if necessary.
3. In the Loewe Cube i.
The 4 device feet must be removed and the 4 enclosed self-adhesive feet must be mounted on the bottom of the speaker instead. Make sure that the speaker is positioned exactly over the sound opening in the rack. Important: Never obstruct the air vents on the back of the subwoofer. Makes sure it is far enough away (> 4 cm) from the oor or wall. Please reduce the volume of the subwoofer during a recording with a DVD recorder positioned in the rack, to ensure the recording is successful.17 - English Setting up Suggestion for Surround positioning solution (L27xx/SL1xx) Front left Front right Surround left Surround right Suggestion for Stereo positioning solution (L2650) Front left Front right Subwoofer Auro Subwoofer Viewvision Cube i- 18 English Connection Wiring Loewe Flat-TV (L27xx/SL1xx) – Individual Sound Loewe Flat-TV

Audio Link cable19 - English Connect the cables as shown in the graphic:
- Connect Auro to socket AV2 of the Loewe Flat TV. You must use a Euro-AV cable in which all contacts are wired.
- To get a better picture quality, use a three-wire cinch cable (available from your dealer) and connect it to Auro “COMPONENT VIDEO OUT” and “SD/HD- COMPONENT IN” of the TV set. Set the “VIDEO OUT SELECTOR” switch on the back of Auro to the “COMP.” position.
- With a six-wire cinch cable (available from your dealer), connect the cinch socket group “PRE-OUT” of Auro to the cinch socket group “Line-IN” k of the subwoofer. Connect the sockets as follows: - Auro socket “Preout C” to subwoofer socket “Line IN Center”; - Auro socket “Preout LFE” to subwoofer socket “Line IN Subw.”; - Auro socket “Preout L” to subwoofer socket “Line IN Front Left”; - Auro socket “Preout R” to subwoofer socket “Line IN Front Right”; - Auro socket “Preout SL” to subwoofer socket “Line IN Surr. Left”; - Auro socket “Preout SR” to subwoofer socket “Line IN Surr. Right”.
- Connect the cubic plug cable from the “System connector” socket e on the subwoofer to the cubic socket on Auro (the side of the cable with anti-kink). The cubic plugs are secured in the socket by a lug. You have to press down the lug rst before you can remove the cubic plug.
- To use the TV as a center loudspeaker connect “AUDIO IN C” on the TV set to “PRE OUT C” on the DVD Preceiver with a cinch cable (the connection of the center cable “C” between Auro and Individual Sound is omitted).
- To play the TV sound over Auro/Individual Sound, connect the digital audio output of the TV set “AUDIO DIGITAL OUT” with the “DIGITAL IN” input from Auro with a cinch cable.
- Before establishing the L-Link, Auro and the TV must be in the powerless state otherwise these devices cannot identify each other after switching on.

Switching the subwoofer on/off You switch the Individual Sound loudspeaker system on in position “I – ON” with the ON/OFF switch g. If the subwoofer is connected as described on page 18 to 19, there is no need to switch the subwoofer on and off separately any more. After switching on the subwoofer for the rst time, it is always switched on and off immediately with the Loewe TV set or the Loewe Auro Preceiver. Settings on the Loewe TV set Make the necessary settings on your Loewe Auro Preceiver as described in the Auro operating manual in the chapter “Initial start-up” / “External devices“. Settings on the Loewe Auro Preceiver Make the necessary settings on your Loewe Auro Preceiver as described in the Auro operating manual in the chapter “Initial start-up – setting the loudspeaker system”. Phase switch/bass intensity The “Phase” switch i and the “Bass intensity” knob h enable you to optimize bass reproduction. We recommend you to proceed as follows:
- If the subwoofer is in the corner of the room, set the bass intensity knob to “Min”.
- If the subwoofer is against a wall, set the bass intensity knob to the center position.
- If the subwoofer is standing freely in the room, set the bass intensity knob to “Max”.
- Start DVD playback for example and select a title with bass parts.
- Have a second person activate the phase switch whilst you sit and listen.
- Decide for yourself which switch position reproduces the best bass sound.
- Set the bass intensity to suit your taste if necessary. Setting the crossover frequency The “Crossover Frequency” knob j gives you the possibility of setting the limit frequency for bass reproduction between 50 Hz and 250 Hz depending on which speakers you have connected. The knob should be set to 250 Hz for Loewe Audio Systems because the crossover frequency is set in the Loewe audio sources (TV/Auro). Cover on the subwoofer After you have made the settings described in “Start-up and operation”, replace the cover on the rear of the subwoofer.- 22 English Technical Data Subwoofer Dimensions of subwoofer in cm W 43 x H 24,4 x D 35,5 Weight subwoofer in kg 12,6 Digital output stages 6 channels Principle 1 way bass re ex, active Fitting 1x bass 200 mm Load capacity subwoofer 100 (sine) /150 Watt (max. music) Satellite channels 50 (sine) /65 Watt (max. music) Mains voltage 220 – 240 Volt Max. power consumption 250 Watts Nominal power consumption 50 Watts Power consumption on standby < 0,5 Watts Bass intensity ±12 dB Transmission range 38 Hz–250 Hz ± 3dB Phase switch yes Power switch yes System link Audio Link 25-pole D-Sub Cubic socket 9-pin JST Satellite loudspeakers Dimensions satellite loudspeakers in cm without/with stand W 6,2 H 15 x D 6,2 / Stand Ø 20 x H 100,5 Weight satellite loudspeakers in kg without/with stand 0,7 / 3,3 Principle 1 way Fitting 2x broadband, paper diaphragm, Ø 55mm Load capacity 50 W (sine) / 50 W (max. music) Impedance 8 Ohm Transmission range 160 Hz–20 kHz - 6dB Sound pressure 86 dB spl (1w/m) Standing speaker Dimensions standing speaker in cm Ø 26 x H 112,5 Weight standing speaker in kg 11,5 Principle 3 way bass re ex, d‘Appolito arrangement Fitting 2x bass 80 mm, paper diaphragm 2x broadband 80 mm, paper diaphragm 1x treble, coated fabric calotte, Ø 33mm Load capacity 65 W (sine) / 120 W (max. music) Impedance 4 -8 Ohm Transmission range 75 Hz–22 kHz - 6dB Sound pressure 84 dB spl (1w/m) Masthead Loewe Opta GmbH is a public limited company of German law with its Head Of- fice in Kronach.
