What types of pans can I use on the Steba IK 650 Slim hob?

Use only induction-compatible pans with a ferromagnetic base (steel, cast iron, enameled). The minimum diameter must be 12 cm. Check with a magnet: if it sticks to the bottom, the pan is compatible. Avoid aluminum, copper, glass and ceramic.

What do the error codes E0 to E7 mean?

The error codes indicate different problems: E0: electronic error, contact customer service. E1: unsuitable or missing pan. E2: internal overheating. E3: overvoltage. E4: undervoltage. E5: temperature sensor error. E6: IGBT sensor error. E7: hob overheating. For E1, E2, E7: allow to cool and restart.

How do I clean the Steba IK 650 Slim induction hob?

Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool. Clean with a damp cloth and a little dish soap. Never use abrasive products, gasoline or thinner. Never pour water directly on the hob and do not immerse it.

Can I use an external timer or remote control?

No, the appliance must not be used with an external timer or remote control system. It is designed for direct use.

How do I activate the child safety?

Press the lock button (padlock symbol). All buttons except On/Off will be disabled. To deactivate, press this button again for 2 seconds.

Why is my hob not heating even though the indicator is on?

Check that the pan is centered on the cooking zone, that it is induction-compatible and that its diameter is at least 12 cm. If the problem persists, restart the appliance.

What is the maximum power of each zone?

The right zone can reach 1400 W and the left zone 2000 W. Total power may be limited if both zones operate simultaneously.

How do I set the timer?

Press the timer button, the screen shows '0000'. Set hours then minutes with the +/- buttons. The maximum timer is 2h59. After 5 seconds, it starts. You can change the time during use.

What to do if the glass surface is cracked?

Immediately unplug the appliance and contact customer service. Do not use the hob if the surface is cracked, risk of electric shock.

Can I leave the hob plugged in after use?

It is better to unplug the appliance after use, especially if children are present. Wait for the fan to stop (a few minutes) before unplugging.

• Applicable are enameled or induction-appropriate pots. Minimum diameter 12cm , but not larger than the ring on the glass plate. Too large pots can lead to an overheat of the electronic. You can test with a magnet whether your cookware is suitable or not.

If it sticks to the base of the pot, you can use the pot.

• Pots made of aluminum, copper, glass, ceramics and chrome nickel steel are not suitable.
• Make sure that the bottom of the pot is flat and not too thin, as this will influence the temperature regulation negatively.
• Caused in the composition of the materials of the pot, some noise might be heard during cooking.
• Place the appropriate pot / pan (minimum diameter 12cm ) in the middle of the plate.

This appliance is only for private use, in small shops, offices, motels and indoor use and must not be used commercially. Please read the instruction manual carefully and keep it at a safe place. When the appliance is given to another person the instruction manual should be passed to that person, too. Only use the appliance as described in the instruction manual and pay attention to the safety information. No liability for damages or accidents will be accepted, which are caused by not paying attention to the instruction manual.

• Ensure that the power supply is adequately protected.

• Before using the device check whether the glass surface or the power cord is damaged. In this case do not use the appliance!

The appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above and persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience/knowledge, provided that are supervised or have been provided with instruction in the safe use of the appliance and have understood the resulting dangers. Children must not use the packaging as a plaything. Cleaning

and user maintenance must not be carried out by children unless they are 8 years or older and are supervised.

• Children under the age of 8 must be kept away from the appliance and the connecting cable.
• The appliance must not be operated using a timer or a separate remote system!
• Only plug in the device as described on the rating label.
• Place the device on a stable, flat, temperature resistant and nonmetallic surface. Do not touch the top plate shortly after removing the pot or the pan, as the top plate will still be very hot.
• Do not block air intake or exhaust vent.
• Never immerse the appliance or the power cord into water or other liquids (risk of electronic shock). Protect the device from moisture!
• To prevent injury, repairs such as replacing a damaged cord, should only be carried out by a customer service.
• If an extension cord is necessary, pay attention that it is suitable for the device. If a cable drum is used, always unwind it.
• Do not plug with wet hands.
• Always pull the plug, not the cord.
• Pay attention that the power cord does not get in touch with hot parts.
• Do not put any pointed objects into the air intake. Risk of electronic shock!)
• Never place empty pots, cutlery or other metallic objects onto the device. Those objects will get hot! Do not heat cans, they can explode. Do not place a sheet of paper between the pot or the pan and the unit. The paper may get burnt.
  In order to protect the electronic parts, the ventilation runs for a couple of minutes after the device has been turned off.

The glass surface can have a residual heat after cooking.

• Attention! Do not place hot pots or pans onto the control panel! Not warranty payments!

• Do not carry the unit when the pot or the pan is on it.

• Do not use the device if unsupervised. Oil and fat can catch fire if they get too hot.

• Do not place near objects which are affected by magnet. (e.g. automatic-banking cards).

• Unplug the device after every use (not if built-in!)

• While using the device, the surface can get very hot. Don't place the device on a sensitive surface (c.g. painted furniture) and keep distance of at least 70~cm to burnable materials (e.g. curtains).

Cleaning

Clean after every use

• Unplug the device and wait until cooled down.

Never immerse the device into water and never run water over the unit. Pay attention that no liquids can get into the device through the air inlets.

• A discoloration or storing can be caused if pots are used which are not clean at the bottom.

• Use a damp cloth and some detergent for cleaning.

• Do not use any abrasive milk, polishing wool or solvent for cleaning.

• Use vacuum cleaner to suck up dirt from the air intake and exhaust vent.

How to use the device

• Plug the device into an earthed socket.
• A signal tone sounds, the display is illuminated. The device is in stand-by mode.
• Place the induction suited cookware with a min. diameter of 12cm on the plate.
• Press the on/off button. The display shows "ON".
• Chose temperature or power with the select button

• The temperature can be adjusted with the + / - button in steps of 60 - 80 - 120 - 150 - 180 - 200 - 220 - 240°C. The power can be adjusted in steps of:

• right plate: 400 - 600 - 800 - 1000 - 1100 - 1200 - 1300 - 1400 watts

• left plate: 300 - 700 - 1000 - 1200 - 1400 - 1600 1800 - 2000 watts
  The device starts.
• During operation, the temperature or power can be changed.

Timer

• If the temperature or power is set and no amendments are made, the device turns off automatically after 2:59 hours.
• Press the timer button. The display shows "0000", after 5 seconds the device gets back to normal operation.
  Max timer setting is 2 hours 59 minutes
• Set the hours with the button.
• Set the minutes with the button.
  The time is accepted within 5 seconds and the time begins to count down.
• The display shows time and temperature in change.
  The time can be changed by pressing the timer button and the +/- buttons.
  After the time run out a signal tone sounds and the device switches automatically into the stand-by mode.

Residual heat

After turning off the device the display shows:

H the temperature of the plate is above 60^

• The ventilation of the device runs for a couple of minutes after the device has been turn off. Unplug after the ventilation shuts off.

Child lock

• Press the button. All buttons, except on/off are locked.

In order to unlock, press the button for some seconds.
