How to fill the water tank of the KSI 240 iron?

First unplug the power cord. Set the steam control button to '0'. Open the filling hole cap. Hold the iron diagonally and use the measuring cup to fill the water tank to the MAX mark. Close the cap by clicking it.

Can I use tap water for my Koenic KSI 240 iron?

Yes, but if the water in your area is very hard, it is recommended to mix equal parts of tap water and demineralized water. Do not use only distilled water. Never put perfume, vinegar or other chemicals in the tank.

How to use the steam and steam shot function?

Steam and steam shot are only available when the temperature is set between 3 and MAX. Fill the tank, plug in the iron, set the temperature. Once the indicator light goes off, you can adjust the steam flow with the steam control button. Press the steam shot button for a burst of steam.

What to do if the iron does not heat up or produce steam?

Check that the plug is properly connected and the temperature is set correctly. Ensure the tank has enough water and the steam control button is not on '0'. If the problem persists, unplug the iron and contact an authorized after-sales service.

When and how to use the self-cleaning function?

Use the self-cleaning before first use, after a long period of inactivity, or every 10 to 15 days. Unplug the iron, set steam to '0', fill with water to MAX, plug in and set maximum temperature. Once the indicator goes off, unplug, hold the iron horizontally over a sink and press the 'SELF CLEAN' button until water and steam stop coming out.

Filling water tank

Fill the water tank with water to steam iron and before using the spray nozzle.

1. Unplug the power plug from the power outlet.
2. Set the steam control knob to Position.
3. Open the cover cap of the filling opening.
4. Hold the iron diagonally and use the filling cup to fill the water tank.
5. Caution! Do not fill the water tank above the MAX mark.
6. Close the cover cap of the fill opening until it audibly locks in.

Caution

Do not put any fragrances, vinegar, laundry starches, decalcifying agents, ironing aids or other chemicals in the water tank.

Note

If the tap water in your area is very hard, using equal parts of tap water and distilled water is recommended; but do not use distilled water only.

Spraying

The spray knob can dampen the laundry in difficult spots. The spray nozzle can be used in dry and steam ironing, independent of the set temperature.

Steam ironing and steam boost function

Steam ironing and steam boost can only be used at temperatures between 3 and MAX. This temperature range is shown on the temperature control.

1. Put the water-filled iron onto its standing base.
2. Connect the power plug to a suitable power outlet.
3. Set the desired temperature on the temperature control dial by turning it to the ironing setting. The operation control LED and indicator light turns on.
4. The temperature control light is illuminated as long as the iron is heating up. It switches off as soon as the set temperature has been reached.
5. You can set the desired steam amount on the steam control or you can shut the steam off entirely for dry ironing.
6. Press the knob to generate a steam boost.

Dry ironing

The tank can be empty for dry ironing. Once water is in the tank, the steam boost can also be used at higher temperatures for dry ironing.

Caution

Never directly point the steam boost into the direction of people or animals!

Always iron on a heat-resistant surface only.

After Use

1. Unplug the power plug from the power outlet.
2. Put the iron back onto its stand base.
3. Let the product cool down.

Automatic Switch-off

This product switches off automatically if it has not been used for a certain period of time. Once the product is moved again, it switches itself on again.

Horizontal position If the product is sitting on its soleplate and is not moved for 30 seconds, it switches off automatically.

Note

A short acoustic alarm signal is heard and the LED light on the handle starts to flash.

Vertical position

This product switches off after approx. 8 minutes, if it is on its stand base and is not in used.

Cleaning and care

1. Put the steam control on the Position.
2. Unplug from the power outlet and let the product cool down.
3. Rinse off the calcium particles and other deposits from the soleplate with a damp cloth and some detergent.
4. Clean the upper part of the iron with a damp cloth.
5. Rinse out the water tank regularly with clear water and then empty it.
6. Keep the product upright in a safe and dry place.

Caution

Do not use any abrasive sponges, vinegar or other chemicals in order to clean the soleplate.

Note

In order to keep the soleplate smooth, it should not come into contact with metal objects.

Self clean function

The self clean function cleans the product of impurities. Cleaning with the self clean system should be carried out as follows before the first use, after longer periods of disuse or every 10 to 15 days:

1. Unplug the power plug from the power outlet.
2. Put the steam control knob to the Position.
3. Fill the water tank to the MAX mark.
4. Put the product onto its stand base.
5. Connect the power plug to a suitable power outlet.
6. Set iron to the maximum temperature, Disconnect from the power outlet as soon as the temperature control light turns off.
7. Hold the device in a horizontal position over a sink. Press on SELF CLEAN and continue pressing.
8. Gently move the device back and forth until damp and hot water cease to escape.
9. Shake out any remaining water out of the water fill opening. Once the soleplate has cooled down, it can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Caution

Do not put any vinegar or other decalcifying agents into the water tank.
