Algemeen
This stylish Princess coffee maker is suitable for making 4 to 14 cups of coffee. The appliance has a water level indicator, a pause-and-serve function, a hotplate and a permanent filter. You, therefore, no longer need to use disposable coffee filters. If you still wish to use disposable coffee filters, then you do not have to use the permanent filter.

Operation and controls
See Figure 1.
The appliance has the following features:
1 Housing
2 On/Off switch with indicator light
3 Hotplate
4 Glass jug
5 Filter holder
6 Lid
7 Water reservoir
8 Water level indicator
9 Power cord and plug
10 Measuring spoon
Before use for the first time
First use the appliance a couple of times only with water to clean the inside. To do so, follow the instructions given below, but without placing any coffee in the filter. Dispose of the water afterwards.
Making coffee
1 Place the appliance on a flat, strong base.
2 Make sure the appliance is switched off (On/Off switch in the "0" position and the indicator light not lit).
3 Put the plug in the wall socket.
4 Open the lid.
5 Pour the required amount of water into the reservoir (minimum of 4 and a maximum of 14 cups, as shown on the water level indicator). Use the glass jug to fill the reservoir.
See figures 2, 3 and 4.
6 Place the black filter holder (without the white permanent filter) in the appliance. When doing so, make sure the handle is upright and the protruding lips at the bottom of the handle fall into the recesses in the housing. Push the black filter holder downwards slightly to make sure the lips are at the bottom of the recesses.
7 Fold the black filter holder's handle down and make sure the lips are under the locks in the recesses. The filter holder is now locked and can no longer be pushed upwards.

The pause-and-serve function will not work correctly if the filter holder is not locked into place correctly. Also do not fully close the lid to allow steam to escape.
8 Place the white permanent filter in the filter holder or use a paper filter. Fill the filter with the required amount of ground coffee (the customary quantity is 1 level scoop for each cup). Close the lid.
9 Place the glass jug on the hotplate. The lid must be fitted to the coffee jug.
10 Turn the appliance on (On/Off switch in the "1" position). The On/Off indicator will be lit. The coffee will now be made. The hotplate will keep the coffee hot.
11 Remove the glass jug from the hotplate to pour a cup of coffee. The appliance has a pause-and-serve function. It is, therefore, not necessary for all the water to have passed before removing the jug from the hotplate.
12 Switch the appliance off after use (turn the On/Off switch to the "0" position) and remove the plug from the wall socket.
