Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.

The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.
Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket.
The device and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the device must not be used.

WARNING OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!

Do not use this device near baths, wash basins or other vessels containing water.

WARNING:

If the device is used in the bathroom please remove the plug from the socket after use as the proximity of water represents a hazard. This also applies if the device is switched off.
The curling tongs/curling iron becomes hot during use. Danger of burning!
- Allow the device to cool before changing the attachment. Danger of burning!
Always remove the plug from the socket after use.
- Allow the device to cool down before cleaning it and storing it away!

As additional protection we recommend the installation of a fault current protection device (RCD) with a rated current of not more than 30mA in the wiring system of the bathroom. Please contact an authorised electrician for advice.

Before Initial Use

  • Remove all the packing materials.
  • When the device is switched on for the first time there may be a slight smell. You should therefore operate the device for approximately 10 minutes without treating your hair. Ensuring sufficient ventilation!

Commissioning

Fully unwind the mains cable.
- When required, slide the round brush attachment (5) over the closed curling tongs. Ensure that the attachment clicks into place. To detach the attachment, please push the release button up.
- Insert the plug in a duly installed 230V 50Hz socket.
- Press the "ON" button (4) to switch the device on.

i NOTE:

The curling tongs now heat up. The power indicator (2) flashes.
- When the selected temperature is reached, the power indicator light (2) is continuously lit.
- Use the selector (1) to set the temperature. Turn clockwise to increase the temperature. Turn anti-clockwise to reduce the temperature.

General Use

Curling tongs

Only use the curling tongs on dry hair.
Take a strand of hair and pull it carefully downwards until it is taut.
- Clamp the curl tongs to the end of the strand and turn the curl upwards.
- Release the curling tongs again after approximately 5 seconds and continue with the next strand of hair.

Curling iron

Only use the curling iron on dry or towel-dried hair.
Take a strand of hair and wind it around the round brush.
After around 10 seconds, carefully unwind the wound strand and continue with the next strand.

Switch-off

  • Press the "OFF" button (3) to switch the device off.
  • Disconnect from the mains.
  • Leave the device to cool before putting it away! To do so, place the device on the wire bracket or hang it on the loop.

Safety shut-off

This device is equipped with a safety shut-off. If you forget to switch off the device after use, it will automatically switch off after around 60 minutes.

Cleaning and care

WARNING:

Before cleaning remove the mains lead from the socket.
- Do not immerse the device in water! Otherwise this might result in an electric shock or fire.

CAUTION:

  • Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.
  • Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.

  • Clean the casing with a soft, dry cloth – without any additional cleaning agents.

  • To detach the round brush attachment (5), please push the release button up. You can clean the attachment with a suitable accessory (comb or brush). If required you can use a standard dishwashing liquid.
    Clean the curling tongs with a slightly damp cloth.
    After cleaning, always dry the attachment and/or the device well.
