General Safety Instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.
Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket.
- The device and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the device must not be used.
- Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by qualified person and with a cable of the same type.

- If the hair dryer is used in the bathroom, remove the mains plug after use as water represents a hazard. This also applies when the hair dryer is switched off.
- As additional protection we recommend the installation of a fault current protection device (FI/RCD) with a rated current of not more than 30mA in the wiring system of the bathroom. Please contact an authorised electrician for advice.

Use the hair straightener with or without mains cable
With mains cable
- Connect the mains cable adapter to the hair straightener socket.
- Guides "A" on the adapter and on the hair straightener must fit together.
- Press the "B" buttons if you want to unplug the adapter again from the hair straightener.

Without mains cable
- Connect the mains cable adapter to the socket on the base station.
- Guides "A" on the adapter and on the base station must fit together.
- Put the hair straightener into the base station. The socket should point downwards.
- Press the "B" buttons, if you want to unplug the adapter again from the base station.

Electrical Connection
- Before inserting the plug into the socket. Make sure that the mains voltage to be used matches that of the device. You can find this information on the nameplate.
- Connect the device to a duly installed 230V, 50Hz protective contact socket.
For use with the mains cable
- Slide the switch on the hair straightener up. The LED in the switch lights up.
- Wait approximately 90 seconds until the hair straightener is hot.
For use without the mains cable
- Switch the toggle switch on the base station so that the light in the switch light up.
- Slide the switch on the hair straightener up. The LED in the switch lights up.
- Wait approximately 90 seconds until the hair straightener is hot.
Application
WARNING:
Only use the appliance on dry hair.
- Choose the strand of hair you want to start with.
- Pin up the rest of the hair in place.
- Straighten out the strand of hair by pulling the hair down.
- Place the straightener on the hair line. Guide the straightener towards the ends of the hair.
- Now work strand for strand through the hair, placing the straightener each time at the same height. This gives the hair style an even shape.
Switch-off
- Switch off the switch on the base station and on the hair straightener. The LEDs switch off.
- Disconnect the plug from the socket.
- Leave the device to cool before putting it away!
Mains Cable
The mains cable should only be wound up loosely.
- Never tie the cable tightly round the device, as over time this may result in the cable breaking.
- Check the mains cable regularly for damage.
Cleaning and care
WARNING:
- Before cleaning remove the mains lead from the socket.
- Under no circumstances should you immerse the device in water for cleaning purposes. Otherwise this might result in an electric shock or fire.
CAUTION:
- Do not use a wire brush or any abrasive items.
- Do not use any acidic or abrasive detergents.
Hair straightener, base station, mains cable
Clean the abovementioned parts with a soft, dry cloth.
- You can clean dirt from the hotplates with a slightly damp cloth.
Storage
- Leave the appliance to cool before putting it away!
We recommend that you keep the appliance in the original packaging if you do not intend to use it for long periods.
Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children in a well ventilated and dry place.
