Frequently Asked Questions - BHI681EB GORENJE

How to install the GORENJE BHI681EB hood?
The BHI681EB is a built-in telescopic hood designed to fit under a 53 cm kitchen cabinet. It is attached in the cabinet using the provided supports. An external exhaust duct is recommended for optimal performance, but a recirculation mode (with active carbon filter) is also possible.
What are the exact dimensions of the BHI681EB hood?
The hood measures 534 mm in width, 208 mm in height, and 300 mm in depth. Its net weight is 4.8 kg. Ensure that your kitchen cabinet has enough space before installation.
What is the maximum airflow of this hood?
In external extraction mode, the hood reaches a maximum airflow of 370 m³/h. In recirculation mode with carbon filter, this flow is reduced to 140 m³/h. The 3 speeds allow you to adjust the power to your needs.
How many speeds does the GORENJE BHI681EB hood have?
The hood has 3 speeds. Speed 1 (low) is suitable for light cooking with a noise level of about 62 dB. Speed 3 (high) is for intense cooking and generates about 67 dB.
How to clean the grease filter?
The grease filter is made of aluminum and is dishwasher safe. It is recommended to clean it regularly, about once a month depending on usage intensity. A clogged filter reduces airflow and increases motor noise.
When should the active carbon filter be replaced?
In recirculation mode, the active carbon filter should be replaced every 4 months or so. This filter cannot be washed or reused. It is available as a spare part from specialized appliance retailers.
What type of lighting is integrated into the BHI681EB?
The hood is equipped with 2 LED bulbs that effectively illuminate the cooking surface. LEDs have a long lifespan and low power consumption compared to traditional halogen bulbs.
What is the energy class of the GORENJE BHI681EB?
The hood is rated class D according to the European energy labeling regulation for hoods (EU 65/2014). Its annual consumption is 70.7 kWh. The filtration efficiency class is D and the lighting class is C.
Can this hood operate in recirculation mode?
Yes, the BHI681EB is compatible with both modes: external extraction (max flow 370 m³/h) and air recirculation (max flow 140 m³/h). In recirculation mode, an active carbon filter (sold separately) must be installed to neutralize odors.
The hood makes an abnormal noise, what to check?
Start by cleaning the grease filter, as a clogged filter is the most common cause of increased noise. Also check that the hood is properly secured and that the mounting screws are tight. If the noise persists, the motor or the duct seals may be the issue.
What is the motor power of the GORENJE BHI681EB?
The hood's motor develops a power of 140 W for a total absorbed power of 146 W (including lighting). The power supply is 220-240 V / 50-60 Hz, compatible with the standard French electrical network.

Is the Non Return Backdraft Damper included in the box of the GORENJE BHI681EB hood?
Frequently Asked Questions - 04/30/2026
Response Notice-Facile

Yes, the Non Return Backdraft Damper is included in the box of the GORENJE BHI681EB hood as an optional accessory.

You will receive the damper with your hood, whether it is used or not depending on your installation setup. However, its installation is only necessary under certain conditions:

  • Install if you do not have any other protection against accidental backflow of outside air currents in your exhaust duct.
  • Do not install if your exhaust duct or installation already has protection against air backflow.

If you need to install the damper, proceed as follows:

  • Insert the backdraft damper into the designated slot on the Air Outlet Fitting of the hood.
  • This installation must be done before connecting the exhaust duct.
  • Consult a qualified service if you have any doubts about the necessity of the damper for your particular installation.

In summary: the backdraft damper is provided with your GORENJE BHI681EB, but you only install it if your local installation conditions require it.
