How to connect the amplifier in bridge mode?
For bridge mode (only on VX200 and VX700MK2), set the rear selector to Bridge. Connect the speaker between the red terminals of the two channels (left channel positive, right channel negative) or use a suitable Speakon cable. The total impedance must be at least 8 ohms. Send the signal only to the left input.
What does the PROTECT indicator mean?
The PROTECT indicator lights up when the speakers are disconnected from the amplifier. This can occur during the first second after power-on, in case of overheating, technical failure (DC protection), or when turning off. If the indicator stays on during normal operation, reduce the level or check the connections.
How to set the maximum sound level with the gain controls?
First turn the gain controls to the left. Send an audio signal and check that the VU meters on the mixing console indicate approximately 0 dB. Set the console's master to maximum. Then gradually open the amplifier's gain controls to the desired level. Make sure no one can touch them afterwards.
What is the function of the GROUND LIFT switch?
The Ground Lift switch cuts the ground loop between the amplifier and other devices. In the Lift position, it eliminates unwanted hum caused by interconnected grounds.
How to clean the amplifier?
Use a soft slightly damp cloth to clean the exterior. Do not introduce water inside. Do not use volatile products like benzene. Regularly vacuum the ventilation openings to prevent overheating.
What are the important safety precautions?
Never open the device (risk of electric shock), do not expose it to rain or humidity, do not insert metal objects, do not block ventilation openings. If problems occur, contact your dealer.
How to use parallel mode on the VX200?
Set the rear selector to Parallel. Connect the speakers to the left channel terminal (both channels are internally connected). The total impedance should be about 2 ohms. Send a signal only to the left input. This mode doubles the output power in mono.
What to do if the CLIP indicator stays on?
The CLIP indicator indicates maximum output level without distortion. If it stays on for a long time, reduce the sound level by lowering the gain controls or the source volume. Prolonged saturation can damage the speakers.
What type of cable to use for XLR inputs?
For a balanced source, use an XLR/XLR cable with wiring: pin 1 (ground), pin 2 (+), pin 3 (-). For an unbalanced source (RCA), use an XLR/RCA cable. JB Systems recommends its cables (ref. 7-0061 or 7-0063).
How to replace the fuse?
Disconnect the device from the mains. Open the fuse compartment near the power connector. Replace the 20 mm glass fuse with a fuse of the same type and rating (indicated on the rear panel). Never use a fuse of a different value.
