IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS

Before using the electrical appliance, you should comply with the following basic precautions:
1. Read all the instructions.
2. Before using the appliance, check that the output socket voltage corresponds with the estimated voltage indicated on the measuring plate.
3. This electrical appliance has an earthed plug. Please make sure that your home's socket is properly earthed.
4. To prevent burns or electric shocks and so that people are not injured, do no immerse the cable or the plug in water or other liquids.
5. Take the plug out of the socket before cleaning it and when the appliance is not working. Leave the electrical appliance to cool down completely before removing it, adding parts or cleaning it.
6. Do not operate any electrical appliance with a damaged cable or plug, it does not work correctly or is faulty or the damaged. Return the electrical appliance to the nearest Authorised Technical Service for them to examine or repair it or adjust electric or mechanical parts.
7. The use of any accessory that has not been recommended by the manufacturer of the electrical appliance may cause a fire, electric shocks or injuries.
8. Place the electrical appliance on a flat surface or table, and make sure that the cable does not hang over the edge of the table or worktop.
9. Make sure that the cable is not in contact with the hot surface of the electrical appliance.
10. Do not put the coffee maker on hot surface or near to fire to prevent it from being damaged.
11. To disconnect it, remove the cable from the socket. Pull the plug, never the cable.
12. Do not use this electrical appliance for any other use than that what it is been designed for and keep it in a dry place.
13. This appliance is not designed to be used by people (including children) with physical, sensory or mental disabilities or who have no experience or knowledge, except when supervised or have been given instructions on the use of the appliance by the person looking after them. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
14. Be careful not to be burnt by the steam.
15. Do not touch the electrical appliance's hot surface.
16. Do not turn the coffee maker on without water.
17. Do not remove the filter holder when the coffee is being made or when steam or hot water is coming out of it.
18. Plug the electrical appliance in before use and turn all the switches off before unplugging it.
19. If the electric cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its authorised technical service or by a qualified engineer to prevent dangerous situations.
20. Do not use it outdoors.
21. Keep the instructions.

ONLY FOR DOMESTIC USE

BEFORE USING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME

To guarantee a delicious first cup of coffee, you should clean the coffee maker with tepid water as indicated below:

1. Pour water into the water tank. The water level should not exceed the "MAX" mark on the tank. Then close the water tank cover.

Note: The electrical appliance has an easy-to-clean, removable tank. First, fill the water tank and then put it into the electrical appliance.

1. Put the filter into the filter holder.
2. Put a coffee cup on the tray. Make sure that the steam selector is in the minimum position.

Note: The electrical appliance does not come with a jug. Please use a jug or coffee cup.

1. Plug it in; turn the I/O button to the "I" on position. The red light will turn on.
2. The first time you use the electrical appliance, leave the water to run activating the pump control button.
3. When the water stops running, in other words, there is no water left in the tank, the coffee maker is ready to make coffee.
   Note: The coffee maker may make a noise the first time water is pumped. This is quite normal; the electrical appliance is letting off air. This noise will disappear after 20 seconds.

PREHEATING

To make a good espresso coffee, we recommend preheating the electrical appliance before making coffee, including the filter holder, the filter and the cup, no that the cold parts do not spoil the coffee flavour.

1. Remove the tank and open its cover to fill it with the required amount of water. The water level should not exceed the "MAX" mark on the tank. Then put the tank into the appliance properly.
2. Put the filter into the filter holder, and make sure that the filter holder handle is lined up with the front of the appliance. Then put the filter holder into the electrical appliance in the "Insertar" and release the pressure flange, and place it inside the coffee maker turning it anticlockwise until it snaps shut.
3. Put a coffee cup on the detachable tray.
4. Then plug the electrical appliance in. Make sure that the steam selector is in the minimum position.
5. Turn the I/O to the lowest position. The red light will turn on. Make sure that the coffee/steam button is in the highest position, position
6. The preheating has finished when the green light turns on.

HOW TO MAKE AN EXPRESSO

1. Remove the filter holder turning it clockwise. Put ground coffee into the filter with the measuring spoon and then flatten it with the flattening spoon.
2. Put the filter into the filter holder. Make sure that the filter holder tube is lined up with the front of the electrical appliance. Then put the filter holder into the electrical appliance in the "Insertar" and release the pressure flange (17), and place it inside the coffee maker turning it anticlockwise until it snaps shut.
3. Put a preheated cup on the drip tray (9).
4. The green light will turn on at this moment. If the green light turns off, wait for a moment. When the green light has come on, you should turn the pump control button to the lowest position, position "P". If you wait for a moment, the coffee will come out.

Note: If the green light turns off with the machine working, you should close the pump and stop making espresso coffee, as the machine is heating up. If the green light turns on again after a few seconds, you can continue to make coffee turning the pump control button to position "P". The green light will turn on and off to tell you when the water temperature is high enough.

1. You should manually turn the I/O to the highest position, position "O", when the required amount of coffee has been obtained or when the colour of the coffee is slightly different.

WARNING: Do not neglect the coffee maker when it is operating as you may have to intervene manually.

1. When it finishes making the coffee, remove the filter holder clockwise, and then empty the coffee grounds pushing the filter with the pressure flange (17).
2. Leave it to cool down completely. You can now clean the coffee maker and its accessories.

HOW TO MAKE A CAPUCCINO

1. First prepare the espresso with a big enough cup, and make sure that the steam selector is in the minimum position.
2. Turn the coffee/steam button to the lowest position, position , and wait until the green light turns on.

Note: If the green light turns off when the machine is working, you should turn the steam selector to the minimum position. Then turn the coffee/steam button to the highest position, position , and turn the pump control button to the lowest position, position "P". After 30 seconds, turn the coffee/steam button to the lowest position, position again. Wait until the green light turns on and turn the steam selector anticlockwise. The steam will come out again.

1. Fill a jar with around 100 ml of milk per cappuccino you are going to make. We recommend using milk from the fridge (not hot milk!).
   Note: When you have to choose the size of the jug, bear in mind that the milk doubles its volume, so make sure that the jug is tall enough.
2. Put the steam rod with the rubber nozzle a couple of centimetres into the milk. Then slowly turn the steam selector anticlockwise. The steam will come out. Pour the froth moving the jug whilst making circles.
   Note: Never turn the steam selector off abruptly, as the steam quickly accumulates in a short time and could cause a potential explosion.
3. When you have finished, you can turn the steam selector to position "O".
   Note: Clean the steam outlet with a damp sponge immediately after making steam.
4. Pour the frothy milk into the espresso coffee. The cappuccino is now ready, and you can sprinkle a little ground chocolate on top of the froth if you wish.
5. Turn the I/O button to the highest position, position "0", to unplug the machine from the generator.

The steam rod (without the rubber nozzle) can be used for making hot drinks such as hot chocolate, hot water or tea.

1. Open the upper cover, remove the removable tank and fill it up with the required amount of water. The water level should not exceed the "MAX" mark on the tank. Then put the tank into the electrical appliance properly.
2. Put the cover on again, and plug the electrical appliance in.
3. Turn the I/O to the lowest position. The red light will turn on.
4. Turn the pump control button to the lowest position, position "P", and turn the coffee/steam button to the lowest position, and wait for a moment. The machine will start to heat up until the green light turns on, which means that the heating has finished.
5. Put the steam rod into the liquid you are going to heat up. Turn the steam selector anticlockwise to start to make steam.
6. When you have obtained the required temperature, you can turn the steam selector to position "O".
7. Turn the I/O button to the highest position, position "0", to unplug the machine from the generator.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE:

1. Unplug the coffee maker and leave it to cool down completely before cleaning it.
2. Clean the coffee maker body regularly with a sponge, regularly clean the water tank and the detachable drip tray and rack. Dry them after cleaning.

Note: Do not use surgical spirit or solvents to clean the machine. Never immerse all the coffee maker in water to clean it.

1. Remove the filter holder turning it clockwise, throw away the coffee grounds, and then clean it with non-abrasive cleaning products. Finally rinse it with water.
2. Clean all the accessories with water and dry them completely.

CLEAN THE MINERAL SEDIMENTS

1. To guarantee that your coffee maker works properly, you should clean all the inner pipes and to get the maximum flavour from the coffee, you should clean the mineral sediments every 2 or 3 months.
2. Fill the water tank with de-scaler to the MAX level (water and de-scaler ratio 4:1. This information can be found in the de-scaler usage instructions). Please use "domestic de-scaler". You can use citric acid (you can get it from the chemist) instead of de-scaler. Fill the coffee maker's tank with water and add a couple of tablespoonfuls of citric acid.
3. In accordance with the preheating programme put the filter holder (with no coffee in it) and the tank in their places. Prepare the water for "PREHEATING".
4. Turn the I/O to the lowest position. The red light is going to turn one, and you should turn the pump control button to the lowest position, position "P". Make sure that the coffee/steam button is in the highest position, position 心 and wait for a moment. The coffee maker starts to heat up.
5. The heating has finished when the green light turns on. Turn the pump control button to the lowest position, position "P", and leave the water to run for a few seconds. Then close the pump and wait for around 5 seconds.
6. Turn the coffee/steam button to the lowest position, position , and wait until the green light turns on. Leave it to emit steam for around 2 minutes and then turn the control button to the "O" position to stop it. Turn the I/O to the highest position, position "0" to immediately stop the machine, and leave the de-scaler in for 15 minutes.
7. Turn the machine on again and repeat steps 4-6 at least 3 times.
8. Then, turn the coffee/steam button to the highest position, position , and when the green light turns on, turn the pump control button to the lowest position, position "P", for it to settle until it descales.
9. Prepare the coffee (with no coffee in the filter holder) with the water at the MAX level. Repeat steps 4-6 at least 3 times (it is not necessary to wait 15 minutes like in step 6), and then leave it to settle until there is no water left in the tank.
10. Repeat step 9 at least 3 times to make sure that the pipes are clean.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Symptom	Cause	Correction
The tank loses water or water comes out of the jug cover.	The tank is not properly on.	Line the tank opening up well with the opening of the preparation container.
	The tank water level is higher than the MAX mark.	The tank water level should be below the MAX level.
The tank's metal parts are rusty.	An unsuitable de-scaler has been used. It may corrode the metal parts of the tank.	Use the de-scaler recommended by the manufacturer.
Water comes out of the lower part of the coffee maker.	There is too much water in the drip tray.	Please clean the drip tray.
	The coffee maker is not working properly.	Please contact the authorised service centre to repair it.
Water comes out of the filter outer part.	There is ground coffee on the edge of the filter.	Remove it.
The espresso coffee tastes acid (vinegar).	It has not been properly cleaned after cleaning the mineral sediments.	Clean the coffee maker's contents several times “before using it for the first time”.
	The ground coffee has been kept in a hot or damp place for a long time. It has gone off.	Please use freshly ground coffee or keep the unused ground coffee in a cold and dry place. Open packets of ground coffee should be closed well and kept in the fridge to keep it fresh.
The coffee maker is not working.	The cable is not plugged in properly.	Plug it in properly into a socket. If the electrical appliance still does not work, contact the authorised service centre to repair it.
The steam does not make froth.	The steam indicator (green light) is not on.	The steam can only make froth when the steam indicator (the green light) turns on.
	The cup is too big or its shape does not fit in.	Use a tall and thin cup.
	You have used skimmed milk.	Use full-cream or semi-skimmed milk.

Do not disassemble the coffee maker on your own if it is faulty.
