How do I fill the water tank?

Unplug the appliance, turn the tank counterclockwise, remove it, open the flap and fill it with distilled water. Close it again and reinsert the tank by turning it clockwise until it clicks.

Why is it necessary to use distilled water?

To prevent the water lines from being blocked by limescale deposits. Do not use additives such as perfumes.

How long does it take for the appliance to be ready?

Preheating takes approximately 35 seconds. The On/Off button flashes during preheating and then stays on continuously.

Can I steam clothes while wearing them?

No, the steam is very hot and can cause burns. Never direct steam at people and do not steam clothes being worn.

How do I remove residues on the steam outlet?

Rub the steam outlet openings with a woolen or fabric cloth soaked in a mixture of water and vinegar.

Does the appliance need to be descaled?

No, the appliance must not be descaled. Never pour vinegar or descaling agent into the tank.

What should I do if steam does not come out?

Check that the tank is correctly inserted and filled with distilled water. Press the Steam button several times before use to remove residues from the openings. If the problem persists, contact SEVERIN after-sales service.

Before using the appliance, please read the following instructions carefully and keep this manual for future reference. The appliance must only be used by persons familiar with these instructions.

Connection to the mains supply

The appliance should only be connected to an earthed socket installed in accordance with the regulations. Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label. This product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.

Important safety instructions

- Do not leave the steam iron unattended while connected. Always remove the plug from the wall

socket, even if you leave the room only for a short while.

• Do not use the iron if it has been dropped onto a hard surface, or if it shows any sign of damage or leakage.
• In order to avoid hazards, repairs to this electrical appliance or its power cord must be carried out by our customer service. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to our customer service department (see separate warranty statement).

- Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.

- To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.

• Before refilling or emptying the water reservoir, remove the plug from the wall socket.
• This appliance may be used by children (at least 8 years of age) and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance and fully understand all dangers and safety precautions involved.
• Children must not be permitted to play with the appliance.
• Children must not be permitted to carry out any cleaning or maintenance work on the appliance unless they are supervised

and at least 8 years of age.

- The appliance and its connection cable must always be kept out of reach of children under 8 years of age, both while it is in use and during cooling.

• Caution: Keep any packaging materials well away from children – these are a potential source of danger, e.g. of suffocation.
• Do not operate the appliance if excessive force has been used to pull the power cord. Damage cannot always be detected from the outside; the entire unit should therefore be checked by a qualified technician before it is used again.
• During operation, the housing and the steam outlet become very hot and may cause burns if touched. Additional hazards may result from escaping steam or hot water. Never direct the steam towards people.

Always handle the appliance using the handle provided.

• The iron should only be placed on heat-resistant surfaces, never near hot surfaces (eg hot-plates) or in the vicinity of open gas flames.
• Do not allow the power cord to touch hot surfaces. Do not coil the power cord round the appliance.
• Always remove the plug from the wall socket

• When unplugging, do not pull on the connection cable; grip the plug itself.

Folding/unfolding the appliance

Unfolding the appliance:

• Slide the folding function switch downwards and hold it in place.
• Rotate the handle clockwise until it clicks into position.
  Folding the appliance:

• Rotate the handle counterclockwise until it clicks into position.

Filling with water

Before using the appliance, fill the water tank with water. Always unplug the appliance before filling.

Attention! To prevent limescale buildup and blockages in the water channels, use distilled water only. Do not use heavily mineralised or contaminated water (for example, from a tumble dryer) or add any perfumes or fragrances.

• Turn the water tank counterclockwise and remove it from the main unit.

• Open the water inlet, which is secured with a flap.

• Fill the water tank with water.

• Close the water filling opening, insert the water tank into the main unit, and rotate it clockwise until it locks into place.

General instructions for use

Check the garment for an ironing care label before use.

• If the label indicates “Do not iron,” test the steam on a small, inconspicuous area of the garment first.
• If the label reads "Iron without steam," do not use steam on the garment.

Start up

Before first use, clean the appliance as described in the “Cleaning and Care” section. This removes any dust residues from the steam outlet and eliminates the appliance’s initial odour.

Ensure the area is well ventilated during use.

Steam styling

Attention! Always hold the appliance vertically during operation to ensure a steady supply of steam. For example, garments can be hung on a clothes hanger while steam styling.

Caution! The upper part of the appliance and the steam outlet become very hot during use and may cause burns. Always handle the appliance by the handle.

Caution! The escaping steam is extremely hot and can cause burns. Never direct steam towards people, and do not steam garments while they are being worn. Operate the appliance with care.

• If necessary, attach the brush attachment and unfold the appliance.
• Plug the appliance into the socket.
• Press the On/Off button. The On/Off button will flash.
• Wait approximately 35 seconds for the appliance to preheat. The On/Off button will remain steadily lit once preheating is complete.
• Before styling garments, press the steam button ⚙️ several times to remove any residue from the steam outlet openings.
• Hold the appliance vertically and press the steam outlet away from yourself and onto the garment surface. Keep the steam button ⚙️ pressed and glide the steam outlet over the fixed garment until all creases are removed.
• For continuous operation, slide the lock switch on the steam button downwards to lock the steam button.
• Release the steam button ⚙️ and press the On/Off button again. The On/Off button will go out.
• Unplug the mains plug and allow the appliance to cool down completely.
• Always empty the water tank after use to prevent residue buildup.

General Care and Cleaning

• Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
• For electrical safety, the appliance must not be immersed in liquid or treated with liquids.
• Remove the brush attachment and wipe it with a damp cloth. For heavy soiling, rinse the brush attachment under cold water and clean the bristles.
• Wipe the appliance, if necessary, with a damp, lint-free cloth only.
• To remove starch residues and grease from the steam outlet, wipe the steam outlet openings with a wool or fabric cloth moistened with a vinegar-water solution.
• Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
• The appliance does not require descaling. Never fill the water tank with vinegar or any other descaling agent.
• After cleaning, switch on the appliance and press the steam button several times to remove any residues from the steam outlet openings. Switch off the appliance and allow it to cool afterwards.
