6. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Cleaning the dust container

To maintain optimal performance of your vacuum cleaner and ensure consistent suction, it is important to empty and clean the dust container regularly, preferably after each use or when it reaches the maximum fill mark.

  1. Make sure the vacuum cleaner is switched off and disconnected from the power supply.
  2. Locate the release button on the top of the dust container. Press it to release the dust container from the vacuum cleaner body and carefully remove it. Fig. 6.
  3. Locate the opening mechanism at the bottom of the dust container. Open it to completely empty the contents into a waste bin. Fig. 7
  4. Once empty, you can clean the inside of the container with a slightly damp cloth if necessary to remove fine dust.

Cleaning the filter

To ensure optimal performance of your vacuum cleaner and extend the filter's service life, it is important to clean the foam filter regularly. It is recommended to clean it when you notice that it is dirty or that the suction power decreases.

Follow these steps to clean the foam filter:

  1. Once you have removed the dust container from the vacuum cleaner, locate the foam filter.
  2. This is located at the top of the container, under the lid.
  3. Remove the foam filter by gently pulling upward or following the arrow direction. Fig. 8
  4. Wash the foam filter with cold or warm water. If needed, you can use a small amount of mild soap.

VERY IMPORTANT:

  • Allow the foam filter to air dry completely before replacing it in the vacuum cleaner.
  • Do not use tumble dryers or expose to direct sunlight or heat sources.
  • A damp filter can damage the vacuum cleaner motor. Make sure it is completely dry (may take 24 hours or more, depending on ambient humidity) before next use.

  • Once the filter is completely dry, place it back into position inside the dust container.

  • Make sure it is securely in place before closing the dust container lid and reinstalling it on the vacuum cleaner.

Caution:

  • Due to frequent use, dust will accumulate in the vacuum cleaner filters. This is normal and will not affect filter performance. If the amount of dust accumulated in the filtration system affects the suction power and vacuum cleaner performance, it is recommended to remove the filters and replace them with new ones. This should be done once every six months or when suction power has noticeably decreased.
  • Keep the suction inlet free from any obstruction at all times. Otherwise, the motor may overheat and become damaged.
  • Frequently check all filters for possible damage, preferably after each cleaning task. If the filters are damaged, replace them immediately. Always unplug the vacuum cleaner from the mains socket when checking filters.
  • Do not wash filters in the washing machine or dishwasher.

Note: If filters are worn or if you cannot remove the dirt, replace them with new ones. Do not use the vacuum cleaner without installing the filters or if the filters are damaged. Otherwise, vacuumed dust will enter the appliance and could damage the motor.
