Frequently Asked Questions - DB 2709 CLATRONIC

How to fill the water tank of the CLATRONIC DB 2709 iron?
First unplug the iron. Open the slider of the filling opening (6) and pour tap water up to the MAX mark. For very hard water, use distilled water with the supplied funnel.
Which temperature to use for ironing silk or synthetic?
Set the thermostat to the lowest setting (dot). This temperature is suitable for synthetic fabrics and silk. Always start with the lowest temperatures to avoid burning garments.
How to activate the vertical steam function?
Fill the tank halfway, set the temperature to maximum and wait for the indicator light to turn off. Hold the iron vertically in front of the garment and press the steam jet button (9) to remove wrinkles without direct contact.
What to do if the iron does not produce steam?
Check that the tank has enough water and that the steam control (5) is not set to 0. Make sure the temperature is high enough (cotton/linen). If the problem persists, clean the soleplate and run a self-cleaning cycle.
How to clean the iron's soleplate?
Unplug the iron and let it cool down. Clean the soleplate with a slightly damp cloth. Never use abrasive products. Make sure the slider of the filling opening is closed to prevent overflow.
What does the auto shut-off mean on the CLATRONIC DB 2709?
The auto shut-off cuts the heating if the iron remains still for too long. An indicator light (4) turns on to indicate that the function is active. To resume ironing, simply move the iron.
How to use the spray function?
To locally moisten a fabric, press the spray button (3) located on the handle. This function is useful for stubborn wrinkles or for dry ironing.
What is the warranty period of the DB 2709 iron?
The warranty is 24 months from the date of purchase, against any defect in material or workmanship. Keep your receipt as proof. The warranty does not cover wear parts or damage due to misuse.
Can I use the iron with scented water or additives?
It is recommended to use only tap water or distilled water. Additives or scents may clog the steam circuits and void the warranty.
How to perform the self-cleaning cycle?
Fill the tank halfway, set the temperature to maximum and wait for the indicator light to turn off. Unplug the iron, hold it horizontally over a sink, set the steam control to the self-cleaning position and shake it until the tank is empty. Reset the control to its initial position.
