How to fill the water tank of the CLATRONIC DB 2709 iron?

First unplug the iron. Open the slider of the filling opening (6) and pour tap water up to the MAX mark. For very hard water, use distilled water with the supplied funnel.

Which temperature to use for ironing silk or synthetic?

Set the thermostat to the lowest setting (dot). This temperature is suitable for synthetic fabrics and silk. Always start with the lowest temperatures to avoid burning garments.

How to activate the vertical steam function?

Fill the tank halfway, set the temperature to maximum and wait for the indicator light to turn off. Hold the iron vertically in front of the garment and press the steam jet button (9) to remove wrinkles without direct contact.

What to do if the iron does not produce steam?

Check that the tank has enough water and that the steam control (5) is not set to 0. Make sure the temperature is high enough (cotton/linen). If the problem persists, clean the soleplate and run a self-cleaning cycle.

How to clean the iron's soleplate?

Unplug the iron and let it cool down. Clean the soleplate with a slightly damp cloth. Never use abrasive products. Make sure the slider of the filling opening is closed to prevent overflow.

WARNING! The ironing base becomes hot very quickly and takes a long time to cool down. Please do not touch it.
- When the iron is not in use it should be placed on its stand.
- Before filling the water tank remove the mains lead. Please do not fill the water tank higher than the MAX mark.

Clean the ironing base with a slightly damp cloth.
- Fill the water tank through the filling hole (6) with normal water (up to a hardness degree of 2). In case of water with a higher degree of hardness, use distilled water. Use the filling container.

Using the Device

ATTENTION: Only garments are to be ironed with this device.

Ironing without steam (steam jet regulator on 0).

1. Place the device on its stand.
2. Electrical connection

Make sure that the iron voltage (see name plate) and the line voltage match.

1. Sort the laundry according to ironing temperature. Start from the lowest temperature to be set with the thermostat:

synthetics,silk

(low temperature)

wool

(medium temperature)

(high temperature)

1. Insert the plug in a duly installed 230V/50Hz socket with protective contact.
2. The LED lights up. As soon as it shuts off, the set temperature is reached (approximately 3 min.). Now you can start to iron.
3. Always pull the plug out of the socket after using the iron.

Steam ironing

• Open the filler opening. Then fill the tank with water and close the filler hole.
• For this a high temperature is needed (cotton, linen).
• The quantity of steam can be regulated using the steam quantity regulator (5).
• Extra steam can be added with the steam jet function (9).

Vertical Steam: This can be used to produce a jet of steam in a vertical direction.

Self-Clean

1. Fill about half the water tank with water.
2. Heat the device to the max. temperature. When the LED shuts off, unplug the device.
3. Now hold the machine horizontally above a sink, turn the steam quantity control to the self-cleaning symbol and rock it to and fro until the tank is empty. Then turn the control back to "0".
4. Place the iron back on the stand and heat it again. To clean the soleplate, pass the iron on a clean cotton cloth.

Spray function

to dampen a spot to be ironed, press the spray button (5).

Cleaning and Storage

Always remove the mains lead before cleaning!
Clean the casing with a slightly damp cloth.
Clean the iron with a slightly moist cloth.
- In order to prevent the water from leaking, always ensure that the sliding mechanism of the filler hole is closed.

The guarantee services do not entail an extension of the life of the guarantee nor do they give rise to any right to a new guarantee!

Proof of the guarantee is provided by the proof of purchase. Without proof of purchase no free replacement or repair will be carried out.

If you wish to make a claim under the guarantee please return the entire machine in the original packaging to your dealer together with the receipt.
