Rechargeable bodyshaver

Dear Customer,

Before using the appliance, the user should read the following instructions carefully.

Connection to the mains supply

Make sure that the supply voltage corresponds with the voltage marked on the rating label on the adapter. This product complies with all binding CE labelling directives.

Important safety instructions

• Prevent the adapter and charging base from getting wet at all times. The shaver itself is splash-proof. It may be exposed to splashing water (e.g. from a shower), but must not be immersed.
• In case of any malfunction during the charging process, remove the adapter from the wall socket.
• This appliance should only be charged by means of the adapter and charging base provided by the manufacturer.

• Before the appliance is used, the main unit (including the adapter and charging base) as well as any attachment fitted should be checked thoroughly for any defects. Should the appliance, for instance, have been dropped onto a hard surface, it must not be used any longer: even invisible damage may have adverse effects on the operational safety of the appliance.

• Do not leave the appliance unattended. Keep it out of the reach of children.

• Caution: do not use the appliance for shaving facial skin or scalp hair areas.

• Caution: the shaving-head with foil and the blades are extremely sharp: there may be a risk of injury.
  Always switch off

• before cleaning the appliance.

• When removing the plug from the wall socket, never pull on the power cord; always grip the plug itself.

• This appliance is not intended for use by any person (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lacking experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• No responsibility will be accepted if damage results from improper use, or if these instructions are not complied with.
• This appliance is only intended for domestic use and not for commercial applications.
• In order to comply with safety regulations and to avoid hazards, repairs of electrical appliances must be carried out by qualified personnel, including the replacement of the power cord. If repairs are needed, please send the appliance to one of our customer service departments. The address can be found in the appendix to this manual.

Charging process

Before using the appliance for the first time, the battery must be fully charged. An initial charging time of approximately 15 hours is required. Any subsequent charging cycles will take around 12 hours. However, the appliance can remain on charge for a longer period without damage or danger.

Should you experience a considerable decrease in trimming performance, switch off the appliance and recharge the battery.

• Fit the connecting plug into the corresponding jack on the charging base.
• Insert the adapter into a suitable wall socket.
• Ensure that the appliance is switched off and place it in the charging base. The mains-power indicator light shows green.
• The charging process begins automatically. The mains-power indicator light stays on as long as the appliance remains in the charging base with the base connected to the mains power.
• Whilst charging, the transformer within the adapter will become warm. This is perfectly normal and safe and does not indicate a malfunction of any kind.
• If the appliance has not been used for a long period of time, the capacity of the battery may decrease by a certain amount. However, full capacity will be restored after several charging/discharging cycles. Every three months or so, the appliance should be completely discharged.

Use

General

The appliance is designed for dry as well as wet shaving of body areas below the neckline.

Shaving

• Remove the push-on comb if necessary.
• Use the On/Off switch to turn the appliance on.
• Place the shaving head on the skin.
• Using only light pressure, move the appliance over the skin against the natural growth of the hair, while keeping the skin tight. For best results, the shaving head should have maximum contact with the skin.

Trimming longer hair

• Fit one of the push-on combs on the shaving head.
• Use the On/Off switch to turn the appliance on.
• Place the comb with the shaving head on the skin.
• Move the appliance against the natural growth of the hair with the tips of the comb leading.

Push-on combs

The combs allow for adjusting the cutting lengths in two stages. The smaller comb increases the cutting length by 2mm , the larger one by 4mm .

To fit the comb, place it over one side of the shaving head and then push it down until it locks into place. To remove the comb after use, push one of the two side catches away from the main unit.

Cleaning and care

• Before cleaning, remove the plug from the wall socket and switch the shaver off.
• To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the appliance with water and do not immerse it in water.
• Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions.
• The shaving head can be taken off for cleaning by gently pushing it off the main unit by its blades. The head may be cleaned with a suitable brush or under running water, but without the use of detergent.
• The charging base and the main housing may be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth.

Disposal of the battery pack

• This appliance contains a nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) rechargeable battery pack, which cannot be removed. It must be disposed of together with the appliance.

Ni-Cd

• Remember to protect the environment. Never dispose of old battery packs in domestic garbage.

Old battery packs must be disposed of through the proper public collection points. This also applies to the battery packs of defective appliances.

Disposal

Do not dispose of old or defective appliances in domestic garbage; this should only be done through public collection points.

Guarantee

This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of purchase. Under this guarantee the manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace any parts found to be defective, providing the product is returned to one of our authorised service centres. This guarantee is only valid if the appliance has been used in accordance with the instructions, and provided that it has not been modified, repaired or interfered with by any unauthorised person, or damaged through misuse.

This guarantee naturally does not cover wear and tear, nor breakables such as glass and ceramic items, bulbs etc. If the product fails to operate and needs to be returned, pack it carefully, enclosing your name and address and the reason for return. If within the guarantee period, please also provide the guarantee card and proof of purchase.
