How to install the Synthesis car seat in the car?

Follow the instructions in the manual. Place the seat rear-facing up to 13 kg, then forward-facing up to 18 kg. Use the seat belt or Isofix connectors (if your car is equipped). Make sure the seat is well secured and does not move.

How to adjust the harness to my child's size?

To adjust the harness, loosen the straps by pressing the adjustment button, then position the straps at the correct height (at or below shoulder level depending on the position). Then tighten the straps by pulling the adjustment strap until the harness is snug against the child's body.

Can I use the Synthesis seat with an Isofix system?

Yes, the seat is compatible with the Isofix system. You will need specific Isofix connectors (sold separately). Consult the manual for correct installation.

How to clean the seat cover?

The cover is removable. Remove it from the seat and machine wash at 30°C with a mild detergent. Do not use bleach. Air dry, do not tumble dry.

Up to what weight and age can my child use this seat?

The seat is designed for children from birth to about 4 years (up to 18 kg). Rear-facing up to 13 kg, then forward-facing up to 18 kg.

How to adjust the seat recline?

The seat has multiple recline positions. To adjust, pull the adjustment handle located at the front of the seat and recline the backrest to the desired angle. Make sure the position is locked.

Is the Synthesis car seat compatible with Chicco strollers?

Yes, the seat can be used as a carrycot on some compatible Chicco strollers, using adapters. Check compatibility in the manual or on the Chicco website.

Where can I download the full user manual?

How to check if the seat is correctly installed?

After installation, ensure the seat does not move more than 2.5 cm front to back. Check that the belt is tight and the child's harness is snug without twists. Use the installation indicators if present.

What to do if the seat has been involved in a car accident?

After an accident, even minor, it is recommended to replace the car seat. The stresses sustained may compromise its safety. Contact Chicco for more information and do not reuse the seat.

1. Please follow carefully these instructions on how to assemble and fit the product. The product must not be used by anybody who has not read these instructions.
2. Keep this instruction booklet for future use.
3. Each country has different safety laws and regulations for the transportation of children in cars. For this reason, it is recommended that you should contact your local authority for further information.
4. WARNING! According to car accident statistics, the rear seats of a car are generally safer than the front seat: it is therefore recommended to fit the child car seat into the rear seats of the car. In particular, the central rear seat is the safest, if it is fitted with a 3-point safety harness: in this event, it is recommended to fit the child car seat into the central rear seat of the car.
5. WARNING! DANGER! Never fit this child car seat into a front seat equipped with frontal airbag. Fit the child car seat into the front seat only if the frontal airbag has been deactivated: check with the car manufacturer, or in the car instructions manual, whether the airbag can be deactivated.
6. If the child car seat is fitted in the front seat of the car (only if the frontal airbag is not present or it has been deactivated), it is recommended to push the seat back as much as possible, bearing in mind the comfort of the passenger sitting in the seat directly behind it.
7. Never use this child car seat on side-facing or rear-facing car seats.
8. Fit the child car seat only in front-facing seats that are correctly secured in the car. Never leave folding or rotating car seats unsecured, they may be a source of danger in the event of an accident.

9. Pay attention when fitting the child car seat into the car to avoid that a mobile car seat or car door may interfere with it.

10. No child car seat can guarantee the total safety of your child in the event of an accident, but the use of this product reduces the risk of serious injuries or death.

11. The risk of serious injuries to the child increases, not only in the case of accidents, but also in other circumstances (i.e.: sudden braking, etc.) if these instructions are not followed carefully: always check that the child car seat is secured correctly to the car's seat.
12. If the child car seat is damaged, deformed or worn out, it must be replaced: it may no longer comply with the original safety standards.
13. This product must not be modified in any way, unless the modification is approved by the manufacturer.
14. Do not install accessories, spare parts or components not supplied or approved by the manufacturer.
15. Never leave your child unattended in the child car seat for any reason.
16. To avoid the risk that the child may fall, secure the child to the child car seat also when carrying the child car seat by hand.
17. When it is not used in the car, it is dangerous to place the child car seat onto raised surfaces.
18. Never leave the child car seat unsecured in the car seat, it may hurt or injure the passengers.
19. Do not insert anything between the car seat and the child car seat, or between the child car seat and the child, unless it is an accessory approved by the manufacturer: in case of accident the child car seat may not operate correctly.
20. In case the car is left under direct sunlight, it is recommended to cover the child car seat.
21. An accident, even a minor incident, may cause damages to the child car seat, which are not visible to the naked eye: it is therefore necessary to replace the child car seat.
22. Before carrying the child car seat by hand, ensure that the child is fastened with the safety harness, and that the handle is correctly locked in a vertical position.
23. This child car seat can be used only with CHIC CO strollers featuring the CLIK CLAK system. Always check the type of hooks the stroller is equipped with in the instructions booklet, and whether they fit the child car seat.
24. Ensure that the child car seat is fitted correctly on the stroller before placing the child in it.
25. Do not use second-hand child car seats: they may have suffered structural damages not visible to the naked eye, which could compromise the safety of the product.
26. Artsana declines all responsibility for any inappropriate use of the product.
27. The fabric cover can be replaced only with another fabric cover approved by the manufacturer, because it is an integral part of the child car seat. The child car seat must never be used without the fabric cover.
28. Check that the safety harness strap is not twist

ed to avoid that the strap or any parts of the child car seat remain trapped between the car doors, or rub against cutting edges. If the safety harness is cut or frayed, it must be replaced.

1. Do not transport loose or unsecured objects or baggage on the back shelf of the vehicle: in the event of an accident or sudden braking, they may injure the passengers.
2. Ensure that all the car passengers fasten their seat belt, for their own safety and because, during the journey, they may injure the child in the event of an accident or sudden braking of the car.
3. On long journeys, it is recommended to make frequent stops: children tire very easily. Do not remove the child from the child car seat while travelling. If the child needs attention, it is necessary to stop the car in a safe place.
4. Premature babies, born after less than 37 weeks of pregnancy, may be at risk in the child car seat. These newborn babies may have breathing difficulties when seated in the child car seat. We recommend to consult your doctor, or the hospital's staff, to have a medical opinion on your child, and whether it can be carried in the child car seat when leaving the hospital.
5. Ensure that all the passengers of the vehicle always know how to release the child from the child car seat in case of emergency.

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

The child car seat is approved for "Group 0+", which includes children from birth up to 13kg of weight.

IMPORTANT WARNING

1. This is a "Universal" child restraint. It is approved to Regulation No. 44.04 series of amendments, for general use in vehicles, and it will fit most, but not all car seats.
2. A correct fit is likely if the vehicle manufacturer has declared that the vehicle is capable of accepting a "Universal" child restraint for this age group.
3. This child restraint has been classified as "Universal" under more stringent conditions than those that were applied to earlier designs not displaying this notice.
4. Only suitable if the vehicle is fitted with a 3-point static or 3-point retractor safety belt approved to UN/ECE Regulation No. 16, or other equivalent standards.
5. If in doubt, consult either the child restraint manufacturer or the retailer.

USE RESTRICTIONS

CAUTION! Please read the following instructions carefully when using the product with the car seat. Failure to comply with these introductions may affect the safety of your child.

1. The child car seat is intended for children weighing up to 13 Kg.

2. Never fit this child car seat into a front seat equipped with frontal airbag. Fit the child car seat into the front seat only if the frontal airbag has been deactivated: check with the car manufacturer, or in the car instructions manual, whether the airbag can be deactivated.

If the Synthesis model features the mini insert: WARNING! To ensure maximum safety to your child, never use the mini insert with children of over 6 Kg of weight.

- The child car seat has a mini insert to ensure maximum protection and comfort to children from birth up to 6 Kg of weight.

Before fitting the mini insert, check that the safety harness is inserted into the lowest hole: this is the only position allowed for using the child car seat with this accessory.

Make sure that the buckle seat belt is not too high (Diag 10). Otherwise, try to install the car seat for your child on another car seat in the car.

CAR SEAT AND SAFETY BELT REQUIREMENTS

The child car seat may be fitted to the front passenger seat or any rear seat, but with the following restrictions. The vehicle seat must:

• be fitted in a front-facing position (diag.1)
• be fitted with a 3-point static or 3-point retractor safety belt (diag.2A).

CAUTION! Never fit the child car seat into a car seat if it is only equipped with a lap belt (diag. 2B).

HOW TO ADJUST THE SAFETY HARNESS

WARNING! The safety harness must always be adjusted to the size of the child's body.

Before fitting the child car seat into the car, it is necessary to adjust the height of the child's safety harness.

The correct position of safety harness is slightly below the child's shoulders (diag. 3). The height can be adjusted to 3 positions (diag. 4).

If the Synthesis model features a mini insert: Before fitting the mini insert, check that the belts are inserted into the hole located in the lowest position: this is the only position allowed for using this accessory.

HOW TO ADJUST THE HEIGHT OF THE SAFETY HARNESS

1. Unfasten the safety harness, pressing the red button located on the buckle (diag. 5).
2. Remove the two straps from the belts and the two edges of the safety belt as shown in fig. 6.
3. Remove the two parts of the safety harness from the rear of the child car seat, and insert them into the hole which is most suitable to the child's height (diag. 7).
4. Re-insert the shoulder straps, if present.

HOW TO FIT THE CHILD CAR SEAT INTO THE CAR

1. Position the handle of the child car seat vertically, by pressing the two lateral adjusting buttons (fig. 8) and extract the stabilizer foot (9a).
2. Place the child car seat onto the car seat where you wish to fit it (diag. 9b).
3. Pull the car safety belt and lock it into the appropriate buckle, sliding the lap belt into the two side guides of the child car seat marked with the blue arrows (diag. 10).
4. Hold the diagonal belt and pull it, until the lap belt is tensioned correctly (diag. 11). At the end of these operations, check that the lap belt is still locked correctly into the appropriate guides marked with the blue arrows.
5. While keeping the diagonal belt tensioned, slide it into the guide marked with the blue arrow, located on the rear of the backseat (diag. 12). Tension the belt as much as possible, checking that it is not slack or twisted.
   WARNING! After fitting the child car seat, always

check that car safety belt is tensioned correctly, and that it is safely locked into its buckle. Also check that the buckle of the car safety belt does not come into contact with the points where the safety belt fastens the child car seat: it could make the child car seat unsafe in the event of an accident.

CAUTION! For your child's safety: Do not fasten the child car seat with the car safety belt in any other ways than as indicated in this instructions booklet!

1. Turn the handle, as shown in diag. 13.

HOW TO PLACE THE CHILD INTO THE CHILD CAR SEAT

1. Press the grey button located at the front of the child car seat and, while pressing the button, loosen the two belts of the child car seat (diag. 14).
2. Unfasten the buckle of the safety belts pressing the red button (diag. 15).
   baby Place horse child into the child car seat and fasten the harness (diag. 16). The shape of the buckle prongs does not allow you to insert and lock a single harness strap only.
3. Tension the safety harness, pulling the appropriate adjustment belt (diag. 17), and make sure that it fits the child correctly.

HOW TO ADJUST THE HANDLE

The handle of the child car seat can be adjusted to 4 positions (diag. 18):

A Position for car transportation
X Middle position: Never use this position
B Position for hand transportation
C Rocking and stroller position
D Baby chair position

USING THE CHILD CAR SEAT IN A FIXED OR ROCKING POSITION (BABY ROCKING CHAIR USE)

When it is not used in the car, the child car seat can also be used as a bouncing or baby chair. To use it in the rocking position, place the handle in the "C" position. To fix it, position the handle in position "D" and extract the stabilizer foot (fig. 9a). Important! Please keep these instructions for future reference.

WARNING: Never leave the child unattended WARNING: Do not use the Reclined Cradle once your child can sit unaided.

WARNING: This reclined cradle is not intended for prolonged periods of sleeping.

WARNING: It is dangerous to use the Reclined Cradle on an elevated surface, such as tables, chairs, etc..

WARNING: Always use the restraint system.

The Reclined Cradle does not replace a cot or a bed. Should your child need to sleep, then it

should be placed in a suitable cot or bed.

Do not use the reclined cradle if any components are broken or missing.

Do not use accessories or replacement parts other than those approved by the manufacturer.

Wash by hand in cold water; Do not bleach; Do not tumble dry; Do not iron; Do not dry clean.

Age: From birth to approximately 6 months (up to 9kg.). Only place the reclined cradle on flat, stable surfaces.

WARNING: Before carrying the rocking chair, always place and lock the handle in the vertical position "B".

HOW TO REMOVE THE FABRIC COVER

To clean the fabric cover of the child car seat, unfasten the harness and remove the fabric cover. During these operations, make sure that you remove the fabric cover from the adjustment button of the safety harness, as shown in diag. 19. Please refer to the care label for instructions on cleaning the fabric cover.

Clean the safety belts, buckle and plastic parts with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use solvents or bleaching agents: they may damage the components or make them unsafe.

To fit / remove the sun canopy, it is necessary to operate as shown in diag. 20.

HOW TO FIT THE CHILD CAR SEAT TO THE STROLLER

The Synthesis child car seat can be fitted to Chicco strollers equipped with the standard open/close "CLIK CLAK" system.

Always check the type of hooks the stroller is equipped with in the instructions booklet, and whether they fit the child car seat.

1. Open the stroller following the instructions provided in the stroller's booklet.

2. Place the Child Car Seat on a flat, stable surface and turn the handle to the horizontal position (C, see diag. 18).

3. Remove the two locking pins from the handle, pulling and turning the two knobs that lock the seat to the stroller (diag. 21).

4. Fit the Child Car Seat to the armrests of the stroller (diag. 22), making sure that it is locked on both sides (a click will be heard, indicating that the child car seat is locked correctly on both sides).

5. To release the Child Car Seat from the stroller, simply press the two buttons located on the handle (diag. 23).

6. Place the product on a flat, stable surface; then turn the handle to the vertical position and reinsert the locking pins.

WARNING! The child car seat can be fitted to the stroller also with the child sitting in the seat, although the child's weight could make the operations more difficult.
