RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
The voltage of the power source must tally with the details given on the rating plate of the appliance.
- To avoid potential risks, arrange for a defective appliance to be checked and possibly repaired by qualified technicians, or contact our Customer Service Department.
- To avoid risks, arrange for defective power plugs and/or cables to be replaced at once by qualified technicians or our Customer Service Department.
Always disconnect from the mains power socket by pulling only on the plug itself, never on the cable.
- Never bend (kink) or crush the power cable, always lay it in such a way that it cannot come into contact with hot surfaces and lay it such that no-one can step on or trip over it.
After every use, before cleaning and when refilling with mains water, always remove the plug from the mains power socket.
Do not use extension cables.
- Never touch the power cable or the plug with wet hands.

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
Under no circumstances should you submerse the steam iron in any liquid or permit liquids to penetrate into the housing of the steam iron.
- Do not expose the appliance to humidity and do not use it outdoors. Should liquids enter the housing, unplug the appliance from the power socket immediately and arrange for it to be repaired by a qualified technician.
- Never use the steam iron adjacent to water contained in a bath, shower, wash basin or other vessels. The proximity of moisture presents a danger, even when the appliance is switched off.
- You may not open the appliance housing of the steam iron. Permit only authorised technicians to repair a defective appliance should repairs be necessary.
Under NO circumstance should you use the appliance if it shows visible signs of damage, has fallen or leaks water. Arrange for it to be repaired by qualified specialists.
Always disconnect the plug from the mains power socket after use.

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

Ensure that the appliance, the power cable and the plug are NEVER submersed in water or other fluids.

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
- Grasp the steam iron only by the handle when it is hot.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. - Never place your hands in the steam spray or on hot metal parts.
- You may not open the filler opening of the water reservoir while the iron is in use. First allow the steam iron to cool down and remove the plug from the power socket.
The iron and its connecting cable must, when it is switched on or cooling down, be kept out of the reach of children who are younger than 8 years old. - Discontinue use of the appliance if the anti-kink protection on the power cable is damaged!
WARNING!RISKOFINJURY!
- This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years or more and by individuals with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised, or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and have understood the potential risks. Children may not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance by children should not be carried out without supervision of them.
WARNING! RISK OF FIRE!
- Never leave the steam iron unattended when it is connected to the mains power supply.
Put the steam iron into storage only when it has cooled down completely. - Use only the ironing temperatures given in the care instructions for the material, or those suitable for it. Otherwise, you could damage the textiles. Should care instructions not be given or known, start with the lowest temperature setting.
The iron must be used and parked on a stable surface. - When you want to put the steam iron down, place it only on its stand.
Attention! Appliance Damage!
- Should the clothing care instructions forbid ironing, the clothing item may not be ironed. If you do so, the clothing item could be permanently damaged.
The water tank is to be filled exclusively with mains or distilled water. You will otherwise damage the steam iron.

Operation
Filling with mains water
Attention! Appliance Damage!
Under no circumstances should you use water from the clothes dryer, scented water, air-conditioning water or rain water for steam ironing. These waters contain minerals, organic substances or particles that can lead to a spraying out of the water, brown discharges and a premature aging of the appliance.
Do not put any additives in the water tank. These can damage the appliance!
1) Hold the steam iron at a slight angle.
2) Open the water fill opening: for the water tank 10.
3) Using the measuring beaker 12, fill the water tank with water to the "Max" marking, but no further.
Should the mains water at your locality be rated as hard, it is recommended that you mix the mains water with some distilled water. Otherwise, the jets for the steam blast function could calcify (become blocked) prematurely.
To extend the optimal steam blast function, mix mains water with distilled water as per the following table.
| Water hardness | Ratios - distilled water to mains water |
| very soft / soft | 0 |
| medium | 1:1 |
| hard | 2:1 |
| very hard | 3:1 |
The water hardness level can be queried at your local water works.
4) Close the water tank. The lid must tangibly engage.
Dry Ironing
Dry ironing without steam is possible at all temperatures, steam ironing is first possible from the adjustment setting on the temperature regulator ①.
1) Insert the plug into a mains power socket.
Attention! Appliance Damage!
- Should the clothing care instructions forbid ironing, the clothing item may not be ironed. If you do so, the clothing item could be permanently damaged.
2) Check the care instructions on the labels in the garment to see if it is suitable for being ironed, and at which temperature setting.
| Temperature Regulator Symbol⑦ | Type of Material |
| Synthetic | |
| Silk, Wool | |
| Cotton, Linen | |
| Max | Linen |
TIPS
The iron takes longer to cool down than to heat up. Therefore, first iron delicate fabrics at lower temperature settings.
With mixed fabrics, always set the temperature for the more sensitive fibre.
3) Adjust the steam regulator 1 to _M^ .
4) Select the best suitable temperature setting with the temperature regulator ⑦. The control lamp "Temperature" ④ glows.
5) When the set temperature has been reached, the control lamp "Temperature" 4 goes out. Wait until the control lamp "Temperature" 4 goes out.
NOTICE
To help with ironing severely wrinkled or very dry materials, you can dampen them by using the fine water spray 2 button.
6) You can now start ironing.
Steam ironing
The temperature regulator ±b must be at least at level or higher. Otherwise it cannot produce any steam.
1) Set the steam regulator ① to the desired steam setting.
2) Wait until the control lamp "Temperature" 4 goes out.
3) You can now start ironing.
Ironing with steam blast
The steam blast is especially suitable for smoothing difficult to reach parts of a garment.
The temperature regulator ⑦ must be in the red marked setting range at the least in order to produce a steam blast.
1) Slightly raise the steam iron..
2) Press the steam blast button
Vertical steam blast
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
NEVER direct the steam blast at people or animals!
The vertical steam blast is particularly suitable for smoothing hanging textiles, such as curtains.
NOTICE
If you want to smooth sensitive materials, hold the steam iron at a distance of 10 - 20cm away, so as to avoid damaging the material.
1) Hold the steam iron upright with the soleplate 9 directed at the textile.
2) Press the steam blast button 3 for a blast of steam.
Temporarily setting the steam iron aside
WARNING! RISK OF FIRE!
- Never leave a steam iron that is hot, switched on or connected to the mains power supply unattended.
1) Place the temperature regulator ① into the position "MIN".
2) Stand the steam iron only on the appliance base 6.
Taking the steam iron out of service
1) Disconnect the plug from the mains power socket.
2) Empty the water tank and clean the sole of the iron 9.
3) Stand the steam iron only on the appliance base 6.
Drip-Stop Function
With conventional steam irons it can happen that water drips from the iron sole at low temperatures. This iron however possesses a new feature characteristic, the DRIP-STOP function:
The iron automatically cuts off the supply of water for steam generation (for steam blast and steam ironing) at low temperatures.
When this happens, a "CLICK" is to be heard. Thus, no water can drip from the soleplate ⑨. You must then re-set a suitable temperature with the temperature regulator ⑦. As soon as this is reached, steam production is continued.
Also when you put the steam iron down or simply let it cool down, the DRIP-STOP function prevents dripping from the soleplate 9.
Cleaning
Self-cleaning function
NOTICE
We recommend carrying out the self-cleaning every 2 weeks. If the water in your area is very hard, you should carry out the self cleaning more frequently.
1) Check to ensure that the plug has been disconnected from the mains power socket.
2) Adjust the steam regulator to the position .
3) Fill the water tank to the marking MAX.
4) Insert the plug into a mains power socket.
5) Set the temperature regulator ⑦ to the position MAX and let the iron heat up until the control lamp "Temperature" ④ goes out.
6) Disconnect the plug from the mains power socket.
7) Hold the iron with one hand horizontally over a collecting bowl.
8) With the other hand press and hold the button Self Clean ⑧. Move the iron gently back and forth. Thereby, steam and boiling water flows from the steam exit holes in the sole of the iron ⑨. Impurities that may be present are washed out.
9) Release the Self Clean 8 button after about 5 - 10 seconds.
10) Clean the soleplate ⑨. To do this, pass the sole plate ⑨ a few times back and forth over a towel or piece of old cloth.
11) Allow the steam iron to cool down before putting it to one side.
Housing and soleplate

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
- ALWAYS remove the plug before cleaning the appliance. There is a danger of electric shock!

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning it! Risk of Burns!

Attention! Appliance Damage!
- Do not use aggressive, abrasive or chemical cleaning agents. These could damage the surfaces.
Clean the housing and the sole plate with a damp cloth. For stubborn soiling use a mild detergent on the cloth.
Safety switch-off
This iron is equipped with a safety switch-off:
The iron switches off automatically when...
... the iron stands on its soleplate 9 for longer than 30 seconds without being moved.
... the iron lies on its side for longer than 30 seconds without being moved.
... the iron stands on the appliance base 6 for longer than 8 minutes without being moved.
6 signal tones sound prior to the automatic switch-off. During the period when the safety switch-off is active, the control lamp "Power" ⑤ blinks. The iron is re-activated once it has been moved.
NOTICE
- Do not use the safety switch-off intentionally to take the iron out of service! The safety switch-off is for emergencies only, should the instructions for closing down be forgotten!
