Auto power function
The auto power function enables you to set the device so that it switches back on automatically and connects to a known mobile phone as soon as the built-in vibration sensor is activated. The auto power function also works if you have switched the device off manually. If you no longer want the device to switch on automatically, deactivate the auto power function.
The auto power function is switched on by default when supplied. Further information is available in the operating instructions.
Activate the auto power function
◆ Press and hold the button for about 2 seconds to activate the auto power function.
The operating/charging LED lights up orange briefly.
Disable the auto power function
◆ Press and hold the button again for about 2 seconds to disable the auto power function.
The operating/charging LED flashes orange three times.

You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information about safety, usage and disposal. Intended use
The Bluetooth® hand-free set SBTF 10 D4 is an information technology device for use in vehicles with an on-board power supply of 12–24 V. The device is designed to create an hands-free connection with a mobile phone via a Bluetooth® connection in order to allow the user to make telephone calls while travelling by car without having to hold the mobile phone in his or her hand. This device may only be used for private domestic purposes, it is not suitable for industrial or commercial applications.
The device is not intended for any other purpose, nor for use beyond the scope described. The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for damage caused by failure to observe these instructions, improper use or repairs, unauthorised modifications or the use of unapproved replacement parts. The risk shall be borne solely by the user.

Safety
This section contains important safety instructions for using the product. Improper use may result in personal injury and property damage.
Basic safety instructions
To ensure safe operation of the product, follow the safety guidelines set out below:
This device may be used by children aged 8 years and above and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how to use the device safely and are aware of the potential risks. Children must not play with the device. Cleaning and maintenance tasks may not be carried out by children unless they are supervised.
DANGER! Do not allow children to play with the packaging material! Keep all packaging materials away from children. There is a risk of suffocation!
- Check the device for visible external damage before use. Do not operate a device that has been damaged or dropped.
If you notice smoke, unusual noises or smells, disconnect the device from the power supply and switch the hands-free set off. Have the device checked by a qualified specialist before using it again.
■ Never open the housing of the device. None of the components in the device can be serviced or replaced by the user.
- Do not make any unauthorised modifications or alterations to the device.
All repairs must be carried out by authorised specialist companies or by the Customer Service department. Improper repairs may put the user at risk. It will also invalidate any warranty claims.
■ Repairs to the device during the warranty period may only be carried out by a customer service department authorised by the manufacturer. Otherwise, no warranty claims will be held for any subsequent damages.
■ Defective components must always be replaced with original replacement parts. Compliance with the safety requirements can only be guaranteed by using these replacement parts.
■ Never operate the device in the vicinity of naked flames (e.g. candles), and do not place burning candles on or next to the device. This will help to prevent fires.
- Do not expose the device to water spray or dripping water, and do not place liquid-filled objects such as vases or open drinks containers on or near the device.
■ Never subject the device to extreme heat or humidity. This particularly applies to storage in a car. If the car is at a standstill for longer periods and the weather is warm with solar irradiation, high temperatures occur in the car interior and the glove compartment. Remove electrical and electronic devices from the vehicle.
- Always unplug the charging cable by pulling on the plug – do not pull the cable itself.
■ Do not place any items of furniture or other heavy objects on the charger cable and ensure that it cannot become kinked.
The charger cable must be routed so it does not interfere with the operation of the vehicle. The charger cable may not be routed through the deployment area of the airbag, as this could cause serious injuries if the airbag is triggered.
The device has an integrated lithium-polymer battery. Improper use of lithium polymer batteries can cause fires, explosions, leakages of hazardous materials or other hazards! Do not throw the device into an open fire.
ATTENTION! Comply with all local laws. Your hands must always be free to operate the vehicle safely when you are driving. Traffic safety must always take priority whilst driving.
■ Only operate the hands-free set on those occasions in which the traffic situation permits it and in which you will not endanger, injure, obstruct or cause annoyance to other road users. Therefore you should only operate the hands-free set in a stationary vehicle.
- Do not allow yourself to be distracted from the traffic situation by operating the hands-free set or reading its display. Before starting your journey, familiarise yourself with how to use the device and practice how to use it safely.
■ Always position the hands-free set in your vehicle so that it does not obstruct your view and is not mounted in a personal impact zone or the deployment area of the airbag. Read the instruction manual of the vehicle manufacturer.
■ Always position the hands-free set in your vehicle so that it does not interfere with your operation of the vehicle, ideally on the sun visor.
Notes on the radio interface
- Keep the device at least 20 cm away from a pacemaker or implanted defibrillator, as the proper functioning of the pacemaker or the implanted defibrillator could be affected by radio waves.
■ The transmitted radio waves can cause noise interference in hearing aids.
- Do not use the device with the radio components switched on in the presence of flammable gases or in a potentially explosive atmosphere (e.g. in a paint shop), as the transmitted radio waves can cause an explosion or ignite a fire.
■ The range of the radio waves is dependent on the environment and the ambient conditions.
■ Data transmissions via a wireless connection can be intercepted by unauthorised third parties.

- Unpack all parts of the device from the packaging and remove all packaging materials.
NOTE
▶ Check the package for completeness and signs of visible damage.
▶ If any items are missing or damaged as a result of defective packaging or transportation, contact the service hotline (see section "Service").
Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the device from damage during transport. The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness and ease of disposal, and are therefore recyclable.
Returning the packaging to the material cycle conserves raw materials and reduces the amount of waste that is generated. Dispose of packaging materials that are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.
Charging the hands-free set
CAUTION
▶ Charge the hands-free set only in dry interior spaces.
▶ Use only the supplied charger cable 15 or the car charger adapter 14 to charge the hands-free set!
▶ Always disconnect the charger cable 15 or also the car charger adapter 14 when charging is complete!
Before using the device, the integrated battery must be completely charged.
Connect the micro USB plug on the charger cable 15 to the micro USB charging port 9 in the hands-free set.
Connect the USB plug on the charger cable 15 to the USB charging socket 12 on the car charger adapter . 14
Plug the car charger adapter 14 into a suitable socket in your vehicle. The operating LED lights up green. The operating/charging LED lights up orange during recharging. Once charging is completed (around 2.5 hours at 1 A), the operating/charging LED goes out.
◆ Unplug the car charger adapter 14 from the vehicle socket. Disconnect the charging cable 13 from the car charger adapter 14 and the hands-free set.
NOTE
If the operating/charging LED ⑦ starts flashing orange every 6 seconds and there is a series of beeps every 5 minutes, the charge level of the battery is low and the battery needs charging.
CAUTION
▶ To preserve your car battery, charge the battery only when the motor is running.
▶ Do not charge the battery while the hands-free set is attached to the sun visor as the connecting cable may interfere with the operation of the vehicle.
CAUTION
▶ Alternatively, you can also charge the battery on an external USB mains adapter. Use only USB mains adapters with an output voltage of 5 V and an output current of at least 1 A to charge the battery. Use the supplied charging cable 15 for this.
▶ Due to the high power consumption, the battery should not be charged on a computer.
Handling and use
This section provides you with important information on handling and using the appliance.
Display charge level
You can also check the charge level of the hands-free set when it is not charged or while it is being used for charging.
- Press the button 📄 briefly. The charge level LEDs show the current charge level of the hands-free set for a few seconds.

Switching the hands-free set on and off
Press the 📋 button ④ for about 3 seconds until you hear a short, high-pitched beep and the operating/charging LED ⑦ lights up blue. The hands-free set is now in standby mode. The operating LED now flashes blue every 10 seconds.
NOTE
▶ If no mobile phone is paired with the hands-free set, it automatically switches into pairing mode after a short time.
- Press the button 4 gain for about 3 seconds to switch off the hands-free set. You will hear a low beep and the operating/charging LED 7 lights up briefly orange before going out completely. The hands-free set is now switched off.
Pairing the hands-free set with a compatible mobile phone
Before you can use the hands-free set, you must pair it with a compatible mobile telephone.
Switch the hands-free set on. After a short time, the operating/charging LED ⑦ flashes alternately blue and orange. You will hear two high beeps. The hands-free set is now in pairing mode for about 2 minutes. If the pairing does not happen within this time, you will hear a low beep and the hands-free set switches off.
- Set the mobile telephone so that it scans for Bluetooth® devices. A detailed description of how to do this can be found in the operating instructions for your mobile telephone.
Select the entry SBTF 10 D4 from the list of found devices on your mobile phone to pair the two devices. The name of the hands-free set SBTF 10 D4 now appears on the list of paired devices on your mobile phone.
NOTE
▶ If you are asked to enter a PIN during pairing, enter 0000.
▶ If the pairing is successful, you will hear a short beep.
The hands-free set is now in standby mode and the operating/charging LED ⑦ flashes blue every 10 seconds. If the connection to the mobile phone is lost, the operating/charging LED ⑦ flashes briefly blue every 10 seconds.
Auto power function
The auto power function enables you to set the device so that it switches back on automatically and connects to a known mobile phone as soon as the built-in vibration sensor is activated. If the device has lost its connection to a mobile phone, e.g. due to excessive distance, and it has not been restored within 10 minutes, it will switch to auto power function (if this has been previously activated).
If there is a vibration, e.g. caused by opening the car door, the device switches back on and automatically attempts to connect to known mobile phones for about 2 minutes. If there is no known mobile phone in range, the device switches back to auto power function. The auto power function also works if you have switched the device off manually.
NOTE
If you deactivate the Bluetooth® function on your mobile phone, the hands-free set switches to the auto power function after around 2 minutes.
▶ Depending on the mobile phone used, it is possible, however, that the automatic connection cannot be made. If this happens, press the ⏻ button 4 briefly to restore the connection. You will hear a beep.
▶ With some mobile phones, the connection must also be confirmed on the mobile phone itself. Please also refer to the operating instructions for the respective mobile phone.
▶ You can only switch on the auto power function if the hands-free set is not in pairing mode.
If you do not always have your phone with you during your journey we recommend switching off the auto power function. In this way you will prevent the hands-free set from switching itself on and off due to vehicle movements, and prevent the battery from discharging.
◆ Press and hold the (●) button 1 or about 2 seconds to turn on the auto power function. The operating/charging LED lights up orange briefly.
◆ Press and hold the 🎯 button 1 gain for about 2 seconds to turn off the auto power function. The operating/charging LED 7 ashes orange three times.
Multipoint function
The multipoint function allows you to use the hands-free set with two mobile phones simultaneously. This is useful for users with a private and a business mobile phone.
The pairing of additional mobile phones is carried out in the same manner as described in the section "Pairing the hands-free set with a compatible mobile phone". Start the pairing process for each phone with the hands-free set switched off. The Bluetooth® function must be switched off on all already paired devices.
NOTE
▶ Alternatively, press the button for 3 seconds to deactivate the active connection. The hands-free set does not need to be switched off for this and switches directly to pairing mode.
If you have paired several mobile phones, the hands-free set will now have several "known" devices available. This status is a prerequisite for an active connection between the hands-free set and other mobile phones. A maximum of 8 mobile phones can be saved as "known" devices. The number of devices that can be actively linked to the hands-free set is limited to two. As soon as one or two of the known devices come into range of the hands-free set, the connection to the devices is made automatically. In some cases, you must confirm the connection manually on your mobile phones.
If a third "known" device comes into range of the hands-free set, the connection to this device will remain blocked until one of the two active connections is broken or one of the two devices leaves the transmission range. If the connection of one of the paired devices is broken, the link becomes free for the third (waiting) device.
If two mobile phones are linked to the hands-free set, different ring tones are used for incoming calls.
NOTE
▶ With some mobile phones, it is possible that the hands-free set must be restarted if several mobile phones are connected.
Accepting/ending a call
When there is an incoming call, the operating/charging LED flashes blue every 3 seconds and you can hear a ring tone via the hands-free set. Even if the call tone is switched off on your mobile phone, you will still hear the ring tone via the hands-free set.
◆ Press the button once briefly to accept the call.
◆ Press the button once briefly to end the call.
Handing over a call between the hands-free set and the mobile phone
During a call you can hand over a call between the hands-free set and the mobile phone.
◆ Press the +6nd - but? ns simultaneously during a call. You will hear a beep and the call will be transferred to the mobile phone.
- Pressing the + find but ?ns again will transfer the call back to the hands-free set.
Managing calls
If you have connected two mobile phones to the hands-free set simultaneously, you can put one call on hold, take a call on the second mobile phone and toggle between the two calls.
- Press the button briefly to accept a call on the second mobile phone while talking on the first mobile phone. The first call is put on hold.
◆ Press the button 4 again briefly to toggle between the two calls. When the current call is finished, the hands-free set switches automatically to the second ongoing call.
◆ Press the button 4vice briefly to end the current call and automatically accept the second call.
Automatic call answering
If automatic call answering is activated on your mobile phone, it will automatically accept incoming calls after a preset time and re-route them to the hands-free set. For more information on automatic call answering, refer to the instruction manual of your mobile phone.
Rejecting a call
Reject an incoming call by pressing the button twice briefly.
Setting the volume
You can set the volume for the hands-free set using the +button ⑥ and the —button ②.
During the call, press the + button to increase the volume. You will hear a beep when you reach the maximum volume.
◆ Press or hold the button ? during the call to decrease the volume. You will hear a beep when you reach the minimum volume.
Muting the microphone
You can temporarily mute the microphone ⑤ during a call so that the other caller cannot hear you.
◆ Press the 🎯 button ① You will hear a beep and the operating LED ⑦ lights up orange. The microphone is now muted.
◆ Press the((●)) button ①gain to reactivate the sound. You will hear a beep and the operating/charging LED ⑦ lights up blue every 6 seconds. The microphone is now reactivated.
Call function
◆ Use your mobile phone to make a call in the usual way.
To redial the last used number, press the 📋 button twice in quick succession. You will hear a beep.
◆ To activate voice dialling, press the 🎨 button 4 once briefly. You will hear a beep.
NOTE
▶ Voice dialling is only available with mobile phones which support this function. For more information on voice dialling, refer to the instruction manual for your mobile phone.
Resetting the hands-free set
The hands-free set can be paired with up to 8 mobile phones. To delete the pairing list and reset the hands-free set to the factory defaults, proceed as follows:
◆ Switch the hands-free set off and on again.
- Press and hold the + 📋 and buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds. The operating/charging LED ⚫ashes blue and you will hear a series of beeps. The pairing list is deleted and the hands-free set is reset to the factory defaults.
Afterwards, the operating LED 7 flashes alternately blue and orange. The hands-free set is now in pairing mode and can be paired with a new mobile phone.
Music playback
You can also used the hands-free set to play music in mono quality. Simply use the music playback function on one of the mobile phones connected via Bluetooth®. You can only control the playback using the respective mobile phone. Please also refer to the operating instructions for the mobile phone.
Attachment to the sun visor
You can attach the hands-free set to your car's sun visor using the supplied mounting clip ⑪
To do this, fix the mounting clip 11 in the mounting clip recess 3 on the rear of the hands-free set. Now you can easily fix the hands-free set to the sun visor of your vehicle.
DANGER
The hands-free set must be attached so that it does not impair your line of sight while driving.
Troubleshooting
The hands-free set does not function.
◆ Check whether the hands-free set is charged. Recharge it if necessary.
Check whether the hands-free set is switched on and that the connection to the mobile phone is functioning.
The hands-free set does not charge.
◆ Check whether the car charger adapter 14 is correctly inserted into the socket.
◆ Check whether the micro USB plug on the charger cable 15 is correctly inserted into the micro USB charging port 9
◆ Check whether the USB plug on the charger cable 15 is correctly inserted into the USB charging socket 9 on the car charger adapter 14
Switch on the car's ignition as the sockets in some vehicles only deliver power when the ignition is switched on.
Check whether the fuse of the car charger adapter 14 is defective and replace this if necessary (see section "Changing the fuse in the car charger adapter").
The hands-free set cannot be paired with a mobile phone.
◆ Check whether the Bluetooth® function is activated on your mobile phone.
◆ Check whether the hands-free set is switched on.
If you use multiple mobile phones, ensure that there are not more than two active connections with mobile phones.
Make sure that the hands-free set is no more than 10 metres from the mobile phone and that there are no barriers or electronic devices between them.
◆ Reset the hands-free set to its factory settings, if necessary (see section "Resetting the hands-free set").
It is not clear whether the auto power function is switched on or not.
Press the (●) button 1 or about 2 seconds and check the operating/charging LED 7 to see whether the auto power function is switched on or not (see section "Auto power function").
The mobile phone does not connect automatically even though the auto power function is switched on.
- Depending on the mobile phone used, it is possible that the automatic connection cannot be made. If this happens, press the ⏻ button 4 briefly to restore the connection.
With some mobile phones, the connection must also be confirmed on the mobile phone itself. Please also refer to the operating instructions for the respective mobile phone.
Changing the fuse in the car charger adapter
There is a fuse in the car charger adapter 14 to protect the vehicle's on-board power supply. If the device no longer works, check the fuse and replace if necessary.
- Open the car charger adapter 14 by turning the screw insert (C) carefully anticlockwise with a pair of pliers and carefully removing it.
◆ Remove the plug tip (B) from the fuse (A) and pull out the fuse.
Now insert a new type F2AL 250 V fuse into the car charger adapter 14, fit the plug tip (B) onto the slightly protruding end of the fuse and screw the previously removed screw insert (C) back in.

Pure electrical circuit lines without any symbols
DANGER
▶ Replace the fuse only with another of the same type. Fuses with a different rating could cause a fire.
NOTE
If the device still does not work or the fuse blows again immediately, the device is defective. In this case, please contact the Service Hotline (see section "Service").
Cleaning
CAUTION
▶ Disconnect the device from the power supply during cleaning to prevent risks.
▶ To avoid irreparable damage to the device, ensure that no moisture can penetrate the device during cleaning.
▶ Do not use caustic, abrasive or solvent-based cleaning materials. These can damage the surfaces of the device.
- Clean the surfaces of the device with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth with a mild detergent.
Storage when not in use
CAUTION
The temperatures inside the vehicle can reach extreme values in summer and winter. Therefore, to avoid damage to the device, do not store it in the vehicle.

Disposal of the device
The adjacent symbol of a crossed-out wheelie bin means that this device is subject to Directive 2012/19/EU. This directive states that this device may not be disposed of in the normal household waste at the end of its useful life, but should be handed in to specially set-up collection locations, recycling depots or disposal companies. The integrated battery is not removable. You must return the entire device.
This disposal is free of charge for the user. Protect the environment and dispose of this device properly.

This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If this product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below.
Warranty conditions
The validity period of the warranty starts from the date of purchase. Please keep your original receipt in a safe place. This document will be required as proof of purchase.
If any material or production fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you at our discretion. This warranty service is dependent on you presenting the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) and a short written description of the fault and its time of occurrence.
If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the beginning of a new warranty period.
Warranty period and statutory claims for defects
The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee.
Scope of the warranty
This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guidelines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery.
The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or fragile parts such as switches, batteries, baking moulds or parts made of glass.
The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the product regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are discouraged in the operating instructions or which are warned against must be avoided.
This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use of force and modifications/repairs which have not been carried out by one of our authorised Service centres.
Warranty claim procedure
To ensure quick processing of your case, please observe the following instructions:
■ Please have the till receipt and the item number (e.g. IAN 12345) available as proof of purchase.
■ You will find the item number on the type plate, an engraving on the front page of the instructions (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of the appliance.
If functional or other defects occur, please contact the service department listed either by telephone or by e-mail.
■ You can return a defective product to us free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure that you enclose the proof of purchase (till receipt) and information about what the defect is and when it occurred.
