Electrical safety

Connect the device only to an electrical supply of characteristics in accordance with the information on the data plate.

The power tool plugs must match the power sockets. Never alter the power cord plug in any way. Unmodified plugs and suitable electrical sockets reduce the risk of an electric shock. Avoid touching grounded or shorted to ground surfaces such as piping, radiators, radiators and refrigerators. If parts that are grounded or shorted to ground are touched, the risk of electric shock increases.

Do not expose electric devices to rain or humid conditions. If water enters the power tool, the risk of an electric shock increases.

Do not tighten the connection cables. Never use the connection cable to carry, pull electrical equipment or pull the

plug out of the socket. Keep the connection cable away from heat sources, oils, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled connection cables increase the risk of an electric shock.

Before starting the work, check the power cord before starting the work. Do not operate if the power cord or extension cord is abraded, cut or otherwise damaged. If the power cord is damaged during use, switch off the device and unplug it from the socket.

If the power tool is used outdoors, the connection cables should be extended with waterproof extension cords designed to operate outdoors. Using such an extension cord reduces the risk of an electric shock. The cross-section area of the extension cord conductors should be at least 1.5 mm when the length of the cable is less than 20 m, and if the length of the cable is between 20 and 50 m, the minimum cross-section is 2.5 mm. 2 A residual current protection device (RCD) must be used as protection against shock from the supply voltage. Using the RCD reduces the risk of electric shock. The equipment should be supplied through an RCD with a rated current not exceeding 30 mA.

Before starting the device:

  1. The cutting elements should always be free of dirt. Clean the blades after each use.
  2. Clean blades correctly interoperate with each other and reduce the risk of jamming on the cut plants.
  3. Keep the cutting element away from the body and the power cord when cutting. The device can easily cut off fingers or cut objects which gen in between the blades.
  4. Do not remove jammed material while the blades are operating. Before removing the jammed material, make sure that the device cannot be accidentally turned on. Although the device is fitted with a safety device against accidental start-up, there is always a risk of turning it on. Therefore, it is necessary to take an additional precaution in the form of removing the plug from the socket.

  5. Check the technical condition of the cutting blade before each use. Chipped, bent or otherwise damaged blades create additional danger. In case of any damage to the cutting unit replace it or buy a new device. Using the power tool with a damaged cutting bar is dangerous for the health and life of the operator.

  6. When cutting, hold the device only by the front handle and the rear handle as the cutting bar may cut the hidden electrical wires or its power cord.
  7. Before starting work, make sure that there are no objects in the hedge that are not part of the plant. - Wires, fence elements and other foreign objects may damage the cutting blades.
  8. Carry the hedge trimmer by the front handle and with the motor turned off. When transporting or storing fit the provided guard on the cutting element. - Proper operation of the device reduces the risk of injuries.
  9. Do not use the cutting bar as a lever for lifting or moving objects, as well as for shredding plants. - The device has been designed to perform specific activities. The use of the power tool for purposes for which it was not intended creates the possibility of hazardous situations.
  10. If the power tool falls or is hit hard, it is recommended to contact a service centre.
  11. Do not allow yourself for getting into a rut when using the device often. Getting into a rut may result in ignoring safety principles which may lead to accidents during work.
