Frequently Asked Questions - VT-4206 R Vitek

How do I use the rice cooking program?
Select the Rice program using the menu button. Add washed rice and water according to the rice-to-water ratio (usually 1:1.2). Press Start. The multicooker will automatically switch to keep warm when done.
Can I open the lid during cooking?
It is not recommended to open the lid during cooking as it releases steam and heat, affecting cooking time and results. Some programs like Steam allow brief opening, but always use caution to avoid steam burns.
How do I clean the multicooker?
Unplug and let cool. Remove the inner pot and wash with warm soapy water or place in dishwasher. Wipe the lid, gasket, and steam valve with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water.
What does the delayed start timer do?
The Delayed Start function allows you to set a timer so the multicooker starts cooking at a later time. For example, set it at night to have breakfast ready in the morning. Use the Timer button to adjust hours and minutes.
Why does my food burn at the bottom?
Possible causes: insufficient liquid, too high heat setting, or non-stick coating damage. Ensure you follow recipe quantities and use the recommended program. Try adding a bit more liquid or stirring occasionally.
Can I cook frozen meat directly?
It is safer to thaw meat before cooking to ensure even cooking and avoid bacterial growth. However, some programs like Stew can handle frozen meat if you increase cooking time by 20-30 minutes.
What is the maximum capacity for rice?
Do not fill the inner pot more than 2/3 full. For rice, the maximum raw rice quantity is about 8 measuring cups (approx. 1.5 kg), which yields about 16 cups of cooked rice.
How do I replace the gasket?
Purchase a compatible gasket for VT-4206 R. Remove the old gasket by gently pulling it out of the groove. Clean the groove, then press the new gasket into place evenly. Ensure it sits snugly.
Can I use metal utensils?
No, metal utensils can scratch the non-stick coating. Use only wooden, silicone, or plastic utensils to prolong the life of the inner pot.
The display shows an error code. What should I do?
Common error codes: E1 (sensor issue) - unplug and wait 5 minutes; E2 (overheat) - let cool before reuse; E3 (lid not closed properly) - check lid and gasket. If persists, contact Vitek support.
