Frequently Asked Questions - VT-4212 BK Vitek

How do I set the delayed start?
Select the desired program and set cooking time. Then press the DELAYED START button (18) and use the - and + buttons (15/20) to set the time (in hours) when you want cooking to finish. The unit will start automatically so that it finishes at that time. Note: This function is not available for Baking, Roasting, and Yogurt programs.
What cooking programs does the Multicooker have?
The VT-4212 BK offers 13 automatic programs: Rice, Soup, Jelly, Heating, Boiling, Roasting, Milk Porridge, Porridge, Yogurt, Bakery, Steaming, Stewing, and Multicook (adjustable temperature 35-150°C). Additionally, it has a Keep Warm function.
Can I use the Keep Warm function for Yogurt?
No, the Keep Warm function automatically activates after cooking, but it is not available for the Yogurt program. Also, for the Multicook program, if you set a temperature below 75°C, Keep Warm will not activate. To avoid spoiling, turn off Keep Warm immediately after Bakery and Yogurt programs finish.
How do I clean the steam valve?
First, unplug the multicooker and let it cool down. Remove the steam valve (6) by pulling it upward. Open the valve by turning its lower part to the 'LOOSEN' position. Wash it in warm water with a neutral detergent, rinse, and dry thoroughly. Reassemble by turning the lower part clockwise until it clicks ('T' position) before reinstalling.
Is the cooking bowl dishwasher safe?
No, the bowl (12) is not intended for washing in a dishwasher. Hand wash it with a soft sponge and neutral detergent, then rinse and dry. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or metal utensils that could damage the non-stick coating.
What should I do if the multicooker does not turn on?
Check that the power cord is securely plugged into both the multicooker and a working wall socket. Ensure the bowl is properly installed and the lid is closed. If it still does not turn on, press the STOP button (19) to reset. If the issue persists, contact an authorized service center.
Can I cook without any liquid in the bowl?
No, never operate the multicooker without sufficient liquid in the bowl. Dry heating can damage the unit and the non-stick coating. Always add at least the minimum amount of water or other liquid as specified in recipes.
How do I adjust the cooking time manually?
After selecting a program, use the - (15) and + (20) buttons to increase or decrease the cooking time. Press and hold for faster adjustment. Note: Time adjustment is not available for the Rice program; it uses a preset time.
What is the Multicook program?
The Multicook program allows you to set your own cooking temperature (from 35°C to 150°C) and time (from 5 minutes to 10 hours). Press the MULTICOOK button twice, then use -/+ to set temperature first, then time. This is ideal for recipes that require specific heat levels.
How can I prevent burning or scorching?
Avoid using too little liquid, especially for programs like Porridge or Milk Porridge. Stir ingredients occasionally with the plastic spatula. For the Roasting program, watch the process and stop when ready. After cooking, turn off Keep Warm for Bakery and Yogurt to prevent overcooking.
