1. Description

The party radiator is used outdoors to heat nearby areas.

A burner inside the perforated plate body produces the necessary heat, which is radiated to the immediate surroundings by an aluminium reflector as well as by the perforated plate itself.

The party radiator has to be set up on a level, incombustible surface with no - or only a very slight - gradient. To make it easier to change the gas bottle, the body can be raised and locked in place on the appliance itself. The party radiator is designed to work only with propane-butane (liquefied gas). It is connected directly to the gas bottle by means of a DVGW-tested and approved hose pipe and a liquefied gas regulator (for outlet see nameplate, capacity 1.5 kg/h). The following regulations have to be observed and adhered to when making the connection:

●Technical regulations concerning liquefied gas (e.g. TRF)

● Guidelines published by liability insurance associations concerning the use of liquefied gas in special applications

The burner and all sheet-metal parts and tube parts visible from the outside are made of rust-proof steel. To start the radiator, open the gas bottle, „turn“ the knob to high setting, „press“ the knob (for approx. 10 sec.) and „actuate“ the piezo igniter.

The regulator knob has the settings „zero“, „high“ and „low“. Infinitely variable intermediate settings are possible. A thermoelectric ignition cut-out prevents gas escaping if there is no flame.

The foot, body, connecting pieces and top are made of powder-coated steel for outdoor duty.

The perforated plate body, burner and screws are made of ground high-grade steel.

The reflector shade is made of aluminium.

3. Assembly

● Before you start to assemble the party radiator, remove the protective plastic coverings.

●Carry out the assembly work on a clean surface where the parts will not be scratched.

●The assembly steps are illustrated on page 6.

● First screw three stems (Item 2) loosely to the base (Item 1) and fit the wheels (Item 11).

- Insert the connecting piece (Item 5) from the side and fasten from underneath. Important: Observe the layout assignment!

- Put on the framework case (Item 3) and fasten loosely with the raised cheesehead screws (layout assignment!).

- Slide the framework lid (Item 4) over the connecting piece and the framework case. Arrange the position of the holes in the framework lid, the framework case and the blind rivet nuts size M5 of the stems so that they coincide and tighten.

●Now tighten all the screws.

- Mount the burner group (Item 6), inserting the hose pipe in the connecting piece (Item 5) as you do so. Be careful not to kink the hose pipe or damage the setting mechanism.

- Now fasten the burner group with the hex screw size M6 x 16 and the washer (12.5. Finally, put on the reflector (Item 7) and screw it in place.

- Insert the gas bottle. Connect the hose pipe to the pressure regulator and the pressure regulator to the

gas bottle - N.B.: 2x left-hand thread. Use leakage spray or a foaming agent to test the joints for leaks.

Never test with a naked flame!

4. Safety instructions

- Set up the party radiator on a level surface with either no or only a very slight gradient (max. 5°).

●Caution: The radiator may be used only under supervision.

●Do not touch the reflector or perforated plate when in use - Risk of burns!

- Keep a safe distance between the radiator and combustible objects during use.

●Do not fasten any objects to the party radiator.

●Use the radiator only outdoors.

●Use the radiator only for heating purposes.

- In strong winds it is advisable to secure the foot with extra weight or to fasten it to the ground or to stand it in a safe place.

- If you are not going to use the party radiator for some time, cover the perforated plate and top with foil in order to prevent dust and insects getting inside.

●Always turn off the party radiator before you move it.

- Check that the seal on the bottle valve is present and in good condition. Do not use additional seals.

- At the first sign of any trouble, close the shut-off valve on the gas bottle at once.

- The party radiator may be operated only in conjunction with a pressure regulator set to the permissible outlet pressure (see the radiator nameplate and factory setting).

- It is imperative to carry out the start-up and ignition procedures as described in section 6.1.

Maintenance: The gas pipe has to be inspected by a specialist workshop every 5 years.

Notes on commercial use:

Various regulations and standards (BGV D34 (VBG 21), DIN 4811-3 and TRF 96) require the installation of a safety pressure regulator with integrated excess pressure cut-out if the party radiator is used commercially (e.g. on fairgrounds). Your party radiator is not supplied with such a safety pressure regulator.

Before you put the radiator into operation it is imperative to use a leak detection spray or a foaming agent to test for leaks at all the connections. Never use a naked flame. Never test for leaks when the radiator is in operation.

5. Connecting to the gas bottle (5 or 11 kg)

To connect the radiator to a gas bottle you need the following parts:

●A standard gas bottle.

- A non-adjustable, DVGW-approved pressure regulator for a maximum capacity of 1.5 kg/h (delivered with the radiator) to match the gas bottle used. Operating pressure as per the factory setting.

● A DVGW-approved hose pipe of sufficient length that can be installed without any kinks.

●A DVGW-approved leak detection spray or a foaming agent.

6. Operating the radiator

6.1 Starting up

Open the gas bottle valve. Turn the button 90° (anti-clockwise) to high setting. Then press the button and at the same time actuate the piezo igniter (a maximum of 5 attempts). Keep the button pressed for approx. 10 seconds after ignition until the burner remains on. If the flame goes out you must wait at least five minutes before making a second attempt at ignition. This is vital to avoid detonations which could put your health at risk

The setting mechanism has the following settings: zero, high (large flame) and low (small flame). Infinitely adjustable setting of the heat output is also possible between these two settings. A thermoelectric ignition cut-out prevents gas escaping when there is no flame.

Ignition

Open the gas bottle valve.

Turn the button 90° anti-clockwise from „closed“ position. Then press the button and ignite the burner by actuating the piezo igniter.

Keep the button pressed for approx. 10 seconds after ignition until the burner remains on.

If the flame goes out you must wait at least two minutes before making a second attempt at ignition.

You can turn the button from the symbol of the small flame (low setting) to the symbol of the large flame (high setting) according to your requirements. Infinitely adjustable setting of the heat output is also possible between these two settings.

Taking out of operation

To turn off the radiator, move the button to „closed“ position and close the gas bottle valve.

7. Cleaning / Maintenance / Repair

7.1 Cleaning / Maintenance

The party radiator is best cleaned with special stainless steel cleaning agents. A weak alkaline solution can be used for minor cleaning jobs. Under no circumstances are you to use preparations containing salt, sulfur, chlorine or abrasive. Avoid contact with rusting objects - use foil, a piece of carpet or similar to protect the gas bottle and base from such contact.

The party radiator can be cleaned with all standard, non-abrasive and incombustible liquids.

Be sure to turn off the radiator and allow it to cool before commencing with the cleaning.

Caution! Never clean the radiator with pressurized water (using a water hose, steam jet or high pressure)!

7.2 Repair

Have only approved gas fitters carry out repairs and maintenance work on the party radiator.
