If your Airforce F0 D2 hood is not sucking properly and is producing a whistling noise, the problem usually comes from a clogged filter or an obstruction in the exhaust duct. Here’s how to diagnose and resolve the malfunction by following the specific instructions for your model.

Check and clean the grease filter as a priority. This metal filter should be cleaned once a month with a non-aggressive detergent, either by hand or in the dishwasher at low temperature during a short cycle. A clogged filter drastically reduces suction capacity and can generate a characteristic whistling noise. After cleaning, reinstall it correctly and test the device. Washing in the dishwasher may cause slight discoloration, but this does not affect filtering performance in any way.

Inspect the exhaust duct if you are using the extraction version. Your Airforce F0 D2 hood comes with a top air outlet B for venting smoke outside (exhaust duct not included). Check that the duct is not obstructed by grease deposits, debris, or bird nests. The connections should be well secured without air leaks, as poorly fitted connections can cause whistling. A partially obstructed duct limits suction and can create a characteristic noise.

Check the operating mode and suction power. Your hood has three power levels: minimum (1), medium (2), and maximum (3).
