Solution: Open the filter compartment and gently rinse the foams with aquarium water (never with tap water to preserve beneficial bacteria). Depending on usage, the mechanical foams need rinsing every 2-3 weeks.

3. Blocked suction grids

The Bluwave 05 has surface suction grids (designed to prevent oily film accumulation). Debris, algae, or sand can block them.

Solution: Check that the suction grids are clear. Clean them gently with your finger or a soft brush.

4. Insufficient water level

If the level has dropped, the pump head may emerge and suck in air instead of water.

Solution: Ensure the filter is fully submerged and restore the normal water level.

5. Damaged impeller

Even if turning, the impeller may not create flow if its shaft is broken or the blades are cracked.
