Frequently Asked Questions - Blumodular 3 Ferplast

How to install the Blumodular 3 filter in my aquarium?
Position the filter inside the tank at the desired location (laterally or at the edge). Use the brackets with suction cups by inserting 1 or 2 brackets into the upper and lower part. If you have a Cayman aquarium, use the guides on the top frame. Then connect the desired accessories (spray bar, diffuser, Venturi).
How to adjust the filter flow?
Turn the flow regulator clockwise to increase flow, and counterclockwise to decrease it (Fig. G).
How often should the filter foams be cleaned?
It is recommended to rinse all foams every 2-3 weeks. For models 02 and 03 used as main filter, do not clean all foams at the same time, but alternate at intervals of at least 15 days to preserve bacteria.
When should the foams be replaced?
Replace all mechanical filtration foams at least every 6 months. Use only original Ferplast spare parts. The absorbent foam (activated carbon) should be replaced every 2-3 weeks if used, otherwise it can remain as mechanical function.
Can I use the Blumodular 3 filter in a saltwater aquarium?
Yes, the filter is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater. Follow the same maintenance and safety instructions.
How does the Venturi effect work?
Insert the Venturi connector at the filter outlet, then connect the small silicone tube with regulator to the air intake. The system creates an emission of air bubbles that oxygenates the water (Fig. E).
What to do if the pump does not start or makes noise?
Unplug the device. Remove the filter from the aquarium, disassemble the pump cover, extract the rotor and clean it with a soft brush to remove limescale deposits. Reassemble in reverse order. If the problem persists, replace the rotor with an original Ferplast part.
How to replace the pump rotor?
Unplug the pump. Remove the filter from the aquarium, remove the cover by pressing the side buttons, extract the rotor and replace it with an original Ferplast spare part (Fig. M). Reassemble the group in reverse order.
Can I use activated carbon or other filter media?
Yes, the filter accepts different media: BLUCARBON activated carbon, BLUZEOLITE zeolite, BLUFIBRE wool, resins. Place dense media in the last module (top) to avoid reducing flow. The supplied foams can be replaced as needed.
What to do in case of water leak?
Check that the closing device at the bottom of the filter is correctly positioned (Fig. N). Make sure the seals and foams are properly in place. If the leak comes from the pump, check the rotor and cover. Use only original Ferplast parts.
