Why does the pump turn off after 1-2 seconds of starting?

If your SAGE BAMBINO pump starts and then stops immediately, here are the most common causes:

1. Insufficient water level

The removable tank has a capacity of 1.9 L. Make sure you have filled it up to the MAX mark. A low level will trigger the pump's safety shut-off. Also, ensure that the tank is properly secured in place.

2. Improperly prepared water filter

If you have recently replaced the water filter (to be changed every 3 months), it must first be before installation. A dry or improperly inserted filter will cause the pump to stop immediately. Check that the filter holder is properly aligned with the tank adapter.

3. Cleaning cycle in progress

After every 200 extractions, the 1 CUP and 2 CUPS buttons will blink. The machine then activates its automatic cleaning cycle with the provided tablets. Wait for the cycle to finish.

4. Descaling needed

When the 1 CUP, 2 CUPS, and STEAM buttons blink alternately, descaling is necessary. Fill the tank up to the DESCALE mark with water and descaling product, then press 1 CUP + STEAM simultaneously for 5 seconds. A buildup of limescale can also prematurely block the pump.
