How to use the immersion blender?

Insert the motor unit into the blending shaft until it locks. Place the shaft into the container, then press the on/off button (B) or turbo button (C). To disassemble, press the release buttons (E).

How to use the chopper bowl?

Place the blade on the central axis of the bowl, add the food, put the drive system, insert the motor unit. Hold the bowl with one hand and the motor unit with the other. Use the on/off or turbo button. Disassemble after use.

What foods can be chopped?

Meat, cheese, onions, herbs, garlic, carrots, nuts... Do not chop extremely hard foods like ice, nutmeg, or coffee beans.

How to clean the appliance?

Always unplug. The motor unit is cleaned with a damp cloth. The drive system can be rinsed under water (without immersion). All other parts are dishwasher safe. Rinse the blending shaft immediately after use with salty food.

Can the motor unit be immersed?

No, never put the motor unit under water or immerse it. Clean it only with a damp cloth.

What safety precautions to observe?

The blades are very sharp: handle with care. Unplug the appliance before assembly/disassembly or cleaning. Do not let children use the appliance without supervision.

Can I blend directly in a pot on the stove?

First remove the pot from the heat to avoid excessive heat that could damage the blender.

How to make mayonnaise with the blending shaft?

Put 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice/vinegar, salt, pepper and 200-250 ml of oil in the bowl. Place the shaft at the bottom, use the turbo button until emulsified, then slowly lift.

How to avoid discoloration of plastic parts?

If you blend colorful vegetables (carrots), coat the plastic parts with vegetable oil before putting them in the dishwasher.

What to do in case of malfunction?

Contact a Braun Authorized Service Center (tel. [phone]). Do not repair yourself. Use only original Braun spare parts.

Setting the speed

When activating push button ⑧ , the processing speed corresponds to the setting of variable speed regulator A. The higher the setting, the faster the chopping results.

You can adjust the speed conveniently during operation using your thumb or index finger.

However, maximum processing speed can only be achieved by pressing the turbo push button ⑥ . You may also use the turbo switch for instant powerful pulses without having to manipulate the speed regulator.

How to operate your handblender

The handblender is perfectly suited for preparing dips, sauces, soups, mayonnaise and baby food as well as for mixing drinks and milkshakes.

1. Insert the motor part ① into the blender shaft F until it locks.
2. Introduce the handblender in the vessel, then press push button ⑧ or ⑤
3. To release the blender shaft after use, press buttons () and pull it off.

You can operate the handblender in the beaker ⑥ , and just as well in any other vessel.

When blending directly in the saucepan while cooking, take the pan from the stove first to protect your handblender from overheating.

How to operate your chopper attachment

The chopper is perfectly suited for chopping meat, cheese, onions, herbs, garlic, carrots, walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds etc.

For chopping hard goods (e.g. hard cheese), use the push button turbo

N.B.: Do not chop extremely hard food, such as ice cubes, nutmeg, coffee beans, and grains.

Before chopping ...

• pre-cut meat, cheese, onions, garlic, carrots (see table page 5)
• remove stalks from herbs, un-shell nuts

• remove bones, tendons and gristle from meat.

• Caution: Carefully remove the plastic cover from the blade (b). The blade is very sharp! Always hold it by the upper plastic part. Place the blade on the centre pin of the chopper bowl (c). Press it down until it locks. Always place the chopper bowl on the anti-slip base (d).

• Place the food in the chopper bowl.
• Put the gear box (a) on the chopper bowl.
• Insert the motor part ① into gear box (a) until it locks.
• Press push button ⑧ or ⑤ to operate the chopper. During processing, hold the motor part with one hand and the chopper bowl with the other.
• After use, press buttons to remove the motor part.
• Then remove the gear box.
• Carefully take out the blade.
• Then remove the processed food from the chopper bowl. The anti-slip base also serves as an air-tight lid for the chopper bowl.

Cleaning

Unplug the motor part before cleaning.

Clean the motor part ⑥ with a damp cloth only. The chopper gear box (a) may be rinsed under the tap. Do not immerse the gear box (a) in water.

All other parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher. However, after processing very salty food, you should rinse the blades right away. Also, be careful not to use an overdose of cleaner or decalcifier in your dishwasher. When processing foods with colour (e.g. carrots), the plastic parts of the appliance may become discoloured. Wipe these parts with vegetable oil before placing them in the dishwasher.

Recipe examples

Mayonnaise (use handblender)

200-250 ml oil

1 egg (yolk and white)

1 tbsp. lemon juice or vinegar salt and pepper to taste

Put all ingredients into the beaker according to the a.m. order. Introduce the handblender to the base of the beaker. Pressing the turbo button , keep the handblender in this position until the oil emulsifies. Then, without switching off, slowly move it up and down until the mayonnaise is well combined.

Ice cream (use chopper)

100 g raspberries (deep-frozen)

10 g powdered sugar

80 g cream

Put all ingredients into the jar, press the turbo button and blend for about 30 seconds. Serve at once.

Anchovy dip (use chopper)

30 g drained anchovy files

200 g cream cheese «Philadelphia»

2 tbsp. olive oil

Put all ingredients in the chopper bowl.

Adjust the variable speed setting to the minimum.

Press the push button ⑧ until the paste becomes homogeneous.

Finish the dip by pressing the turbo button ⑥ . Variations of this recipe can be done by using salmon, Roquefort or blue cheese instead of anchovy files.
