Frequently Asked Questions - AF1500B GORENJE

How do I use the Gorenje AF1500B air fryer?
Place the appliance on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Insert the basket into the pan. Add food to the basket, then slide the pan into the appliance. Set the temperature (80-200°C) and timer (0-30 min). The appliance will start automatically. Shake ingredients if recommended halfway. When done, press the basket release knob and empty the food.
Can I use oil in the air fryer?
No, do not fill the pan with oil. The appliance uses hot air for frying. For crispy results, you may lightly coat food with oil before placing it in the basket.
What is the maximum amount of food I can cook?
For potatoes, the recommended maximum is 700 g. For other foods, refer to the cooking table in the manual (e.g., meat up to 500 g). Overfilling may cause uneven cooking.
How do I clean the air fryer?
Always unplug and let it cool completely. Wash the pan and basket by hand with hot water and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or put them in the dishwasher. Wipe the interior and exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth.
What should I do if the food is not cooked properly?
Possible causes: too much food in the basket (reduce amount), temperature too low (increase), or cooking time too short (set longer time). Check the food and adjust accordingly.
Why is my food not crispy?
Some foods are designed for conventional deep frying. For better crispiness, lightly coat the food with oil before air frying.
How do I insert the basket correctly?
Place the basket into the pan and push down until you hear a click. The basket must be properly seated for the pan to slide into the appliance smoothly.
Is it safe for children to use?
Children aged 8 years and above can use the appliance under supervision. They should not perform cleaning or maintenance unless supervised.
What should I do if dark smoke comes out?
Immediately switch off the appliance and unplug it. Do not open immediately; wait for smoke to subside. Then check for food residue or oil buildup. Ensure the interior is cleaned regularly.
Can I wash the pan and basket in the dishwasher?
No, do not wash the pan and basket in the dishwasher. They should be hand washed only to avoid damage.
