Frequently Asked Questions - TK 2020 ECG

What is the recommended temperature setting for optimal efficiency?
For optimal efficiency and safety, set the thermostat to 60 °C. This prevents bacterial growth while minimizing heat loss.
How often should I replace the anode rod?
Check the anode rod annually and replace it every 2-3 years or if heavily corroded to prevent tank rust.
Can I install the water heater myself?
Installation must be carried out by a qualified professional to ensure compliance with local plumbing and electrical codes.
What does the safety relief valve do?
The temperature and pressure relief valve automatically releases water if the temperature or pressure exceeds safe levels, preventing tank rupture.
How do I drain the water heater?
Turn off power and water supply, attach a hose to the drain valve, open the valve and a hot water tap to allow air in, and drain completely. Refer to manual for details.
My water heater is not heating properly. What could be wrong?
Possible causes: tripped circuit breaker, faulty thermostat, or burned-out heating element. Check power and consult a technician.
Is the ECG TK 2020 suitable for hard water?
It is compatible, but in hard water areas, periodic descaling is recommended to maintain efficiency.
What is the standby power consumption?
Standby heat loss is approximately 0.8 kWh per 24 hours, depending on ambient temperature and insulation.
Can I use an extension cord?
No, the water heater must be directly connected to a dedicated circuit. Extension cords may overheat and cause fire.
Where can I find replacement parts?
Authorized service centers or online stores carrying ECG parts. Use only genuine parts for safety.

REQUIREMENTS ON INSTALLATION

  • Place the convector on a flat surface with a sufficient amount of space around the appliance to ensure the proper function of exhaust vents.
  • The distance between the device and surrounding objects must be at least 50 cm.

WARNING:

To prevent the device from overheating, do not cover the heater. The heater must not be placed directly under an outlet.

INSTRUCTIONS

This convector uses hot air technology with temperature regulation via thermostat.

The power level can be set via heat element switches:

Switch 1 = power of 750 W

Switch 2 = power of 1250 W

Switch 1+2 = power of 2000 W

Activating the convector and temperature control

  1. With respect to the above defined safety instructions, select a proper location to place the convector.
  2. Plug the power cable into a proper electric socket.
  3. Turn the THERMOSTAT CONTROL completely to the right for maximum power.
  4. Activate the heat elements via the SWITCHES on the side panel. The activation of heat elements is indicated by switch indicator lamps. Activate both switches to achieve maximum heat power.
  5. When the required temperature is achieved in the room, turn the thermostat controller slowly to the left until you hear the thermostat click and the lamps on the heat element switches go off. The convector will now maintain the temperature in the room at the value set by automatically switching the heat elements on and off.

Note: An odour or smoke may emit from the heat elements during the first use of the appliance or when turning on after a longer period of time. This effect is normal and will go away after a short while.

Turning off the convector

  • First switch off the convector and set the thermostat controller to "MIN", then unplug the power cord from the socket!
  • The device shall only be handled when turned off via the switches and disconnected from the network outlet.

Protection against overheating

  • The internal heat fuse protects the heater against overheating and switches off the appliance automatically. In this case, the operating lamp will switch off.
  • If the appliance switches itself off, unplug the power cable from the socket. After cooling down (about 15 minutes), the appliance is again ready for use. Plug the power cable back into the socket.
  • If the situation persists, first make sure the thermostat controller is properly configured and whether the air vents are not covered.

CLEANING

  • Prior to cleaning, unplug the convector and leave the appliance to completely cool down.
  • Clean the outer surface with a moist cloth and wipe dry using a towel. Do not use detergents or abrasive cleaning agents and prevent water from entering the appliance.

STORAGE

If you do not plan to use the appliance for a longer period of time, it should be placed in a clean and dry location protected against dust.
