Frequently Asked Questions - AirCook Q60 XL TESLA

What should I do if white smoke comes out of the appliance?
On first use, a small amount of white smoke is normal. Ensure the baskets are clean and free of grease. Cooking fatty foods may cause oil to leak and produce white smoke; this is normal and does not affect cooking. Handle the container with care.
What do error codes E1, E2, or E3 mean?
These indicate an appliance fault. Please contact the TESLA service department for assistance.
Why is my food not crispy after frying?
Spraying the food with a small amount of oil can increase crispness. Also avoid overcrowding the basket, and shake or turn food during cooking for even browning.
How does the preheat function work?
The appliance automatically preheats to the set temperature. The timer starts counting down only after the set temperature is reached, ensuring optimal cooking results.
Can I wash removable parts in a dishwasher?
Yes, removable parts that come into contact with food are dishwasher safe. However, hand washing with warm water and mild detergent is recommended to preserve the non-stick coating.
What is the maximum amount of food I can cook?
Do not exceed the MAX mark inside the removable basket. For reference, frozen fries can be cooked in quantities of 300–500 g. Overfilling may affect cooking quality.
How do I shake food during cooking?
You can either pull the outer container out by its handle (cooking pauses) or press the Start/Pause button, shake the ingredients, then reinsert the container and press Start to resume.
Can I cook frozen food directly without thawing?
Yes, the appliance has preset programs for frozen French fries and chicken nuggets. Cooking times for frozen items are provided in the recommended cooking table.
Why does the appliance stop heating when I remove the basket?
This is the automatic heat recovery function. The appliance suspends cooking when the outer container is removed and resumes automatically when it is reinserted.
What should I do if dark smoke comes out?
Switch off the appliance immediately. Dark smoke indicates burning food. Remove the inner basket and let the appliance cool down. Clean any burnt residues before reuse.

SHAKE/STIR FOOD FOR BEST COOKING RESULTS

For best results, we recommend meat and poultry dishes, shaken/stired once or twice during cooking, so that they do not dry on the upper side, they are evenly cooked and crispy. You can also reverse dishes such as steak to ensure even browning and cooking. The sound signal only reminds you that it is advisable to shake/stir the food, the heating is not interrupted after the signal sounds and continues to count down the time for heating.

There are two ways to shake/stir:

  • Pull the outer container out of the appliance directly by the handle and the appliance will stop working immediately. Shake/stir the ingredients and then slide the outer container back into the appliance and the appliance will automatically heat again.
  • Push ▶II to stop the appliance, remove the outer pot from the appliance, shake the ingredients, and then slide the outer pot back into the deep fryer, press again to continue cooking.

Shaking/mixing usually requires smaller foods that are stacked, such as chips or nuggets.

CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE HOPPER BUTTON WHEN SHAKING!

OTHER FUNCTIONS

EASY TO CLEAN

  • Allow the appliance to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Clean the appliance after each use and before long storage.
    • We recommend cleaning the appliance as soon as it has cooled down before the food remains dry.

  • Clean the base of the appliance with a damp cloth and detergent.

  • Removable parts that are intended for contact with food can be washed in the dishwasher, but we still recommend hand washing for longer protection (durability) of the non-stick surface. Wash these parts under warm running water with the addition of neutral kitchen detergent. Then rinse them with clean water, wipe them dry thoroughly and put them back in place.
  • Do not use sharp objects or any abrasive cleaning materials to keep the non-stick coating on the outer container and inner removable basket for as long as possible.
