Frequently Asked Questions - Rview S2 Tracer

How do I install the Tracer Rview S2 rearview camera?
Installation involves connecting the camera to your vehicle's reverse light circuit and routing cables to the monitor. It is recommended to have a professional car service perform the installation. If you do it yourself, follow the manual carefully and ensure all connections are secure.
What vehicles is the Rview S2 compatible with?
The Rview S2 is designed for vehicles with a 12V electrical system and a standard license plate mounting area. It can be installed on cars, SUVs, vans, and trucks. The camera frame fits most license plate sizes and can be secured using screws or zip ties.
How does the night vision work?
The camera features 4 IR (infrared) diodes that automatically activate in low-light conditions, providing a black-and-white image with sufficient clarity for reversing at night. The IR range is limited, so be cautious in complete darkness.
Can I adjust the camera angle?
Yes, the camera has a mechanical inclination adjustment of up to 30 degrees. You can tilt the camera up or down to optimize the viewing angle for your vehicle's height and parking needs.
What is included in the box?
The box contains: a license plate frame with integrated camera, a folding monitor with 4.3-inch screen, a 6-meter connecting cable (camera to monitor), a 1-meter power supply cable, two quick connectors, and a user manual.
How do I clean the camera lens or monitor?
Use a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth to gently wipe the lens and screen. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, alcohol, or ammonia-based products as they may damage the coating.
Does the monitor come with a bracket for mounting?
The monitor is designed to be placed on the dashboard. It comes with a foldable stand that allows you to position it conveniently. For a more permanent installation, you may use adhesive pads (not included) or purchase a compatible mount.
I'm not getting any image on the screen. What should I check?
First, ensure the vehicle is in reverse gear and the reverse light is functioning. Check all cable connections: the camera-to-monitor cable, power connections, and ground wire. Verify the fuse for the reverse light circuit. If the problem persists, contact support.
Is the Rview S2 waterproof?
The camera is housed in the license plate frame and is weather-resistant but not fully submersible. It can withstand rain and car washes, but avoid high-pressure water jets directed at the camera.
What is the warranty period?
The Tracer Rview S2 typically comes with a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects. For specific terms, refer to the warranty card included in the package or contact Tracer customer support.

INSTALLATION OF THE SET

CABLE 6 m VIDEO-POWER SUPPLY — GROUND

MOUNTING THE CAMERA FRAME ON THE CAR

  1. Remove the original plate along with the frame.
  2. Locate the point (trunk handle, any other technical opening) where you can insert the cable (50 cm length) into the trunk.
  3. If there is no factory-made inlet available, it is necessary to drill a hole with diameter allowing to insert first the yellow, and second – the red cinch cable fitted at the end of the frame wiring.
  4. Before installing the frame, you have to decide how to fix the plate frame (see sec. 5)!
  5. The plate is fixed at the top by the UPPER PLATE CLIP; however, at the bottom, it should be fixed individually by the user:

a. You may fix it using screws used to fix the frame to the body of the car.
b. You may fasten the plate to the frame using additional screws (not supplied), using MULTI-PURPOSE MOUNTING HOLES in the frame.
c. You may fix the plate to the frame using zip ties (not supplied), using MULTI-PURPOSE MOUNTING HOLES in the frame.

MULTI-PURPOSE MOUNTING HOLES:

• Fixing the registration plate
• Fastening the frame to the body of the car

  1. Fasten the frame using original fixing of the factory-made plate frame; but first remember to insert the cables through the specially made hole in the car body.
  1. Find the power cable connected to the taillight using the wiring diagram of the vehicle or using the 12V electric meter (not supplied).
  2. Using the supplied QUICK CONNECTOR/CONNECTOR, fasten the taillight power cable to the red wire in the 6M CABLE (it will power the camera and the LCD screen).
  3. The black wire from the 6M CABLE should be connected to the car ground.
  4. Connect the red end of the FRAME WIRE to the black end of the 6M CABLE.
  5. Connect the yellow end of the FRAME WIRE to the yellow end of the 6M CABLE.

  1. Plan the route of the cable from the trunk (taillight area) to the car dashboard, i.e. the point where you will install the screen.
  2. It is recommended not to guide the cable on the surface – it will be exposed to wear and tear.
  3. Guide the wire under the car liner, headliner, or plastic elements of the car.

CONNECTING THE SCREEN

SCREEN CABLE CABLE 6 M
GROUND —

  1. Place the screen in the desired location on the dashboard.
  2. Connect the red wire of the 6M CABLE to the red wire of the SCREEN POWER SUPPLY CABLE. You can use the supplied (QUICK) CONNECTOR for that purpose.
  3. Connect the red plug of the SCREEN CABLE to the black plug of the SCREEN POWER SUPPLY CABLE.
  4. Connect the yellow plug of the SCREEN CABLE to the yellow plug of the 6M CABLE.
  5. Connect the black wire of the POWER SUPPLY CABLE to the car ground (e.g. in the compartment under the steering wheel, or in the fuse box area).

If you have performed all the steps correctly, when you put the car in reverse, the power supply from the taillight should activate the rearview camera and the screen; as a result, the screen should display the camera image.
