4. OPERATION

Food location

  • There should always be some space between the food inside to allow air to circulate.
  • Food should be kept in airtight containers to avoid drying out or giving off odours.
  • Hot food must be cooled before being placed in the refrigerator.
  • Reducing the frequency of door opening can reduce electricity consumption.

Warning:

Do not use electronic equipment inside the refrigerator.

Operating instructions

  • Use the temperature knob to adjust the temperature inside the refrigerator. However, the number displayed on the temperature knob does not represent the actual temperature. The higher the number, the lower the interior temperature. Fig. 11
  • Number 0 on the knob means that the refrigerator is switched off, i.e. it is not generating any cold. On the other hand, the highest level is represented by number 7, indicating the coldest temperature setting available.

NOTE: it is important to know that, if you choose this high temperature level, it is possible that some parts of the refrigerator may reach temperatures below 0 °C. This detail is crucial to ensure proper food preservation, as too low temperatures may freeze certain food, which can affect their texture, taste and nutritional quality. Therefore, when manipulating the temperature knob, this relation between the numbers and the intensity of the cold generated inside the refrigerator must be considered.

Packaging and transport

  1. When unpacking the refrigerator, pay attention to where all the parts are placed. If you repack it, make sure everything is in place before transporting it.
  2. Do not pull on the door or door handle during transport.
  3. When transporting, the refrigerator must not be tilted by more than 45 degrees. Avoid strong vibrations and shocks.

Energy saving tips

- Fridge: placing the drawers at the bottom of the refrigerator and the shelves evenly

distributed ensures efficient use of energy. The position of the shelves on the door does not affect energy consumption.

  • Do not open the door frequently or leave it open longer than necessary.
  • Do not set the temperature too high to save energy, unless required by the characteristics of the food.
  • If the room temperature is high, the selected temperature is also low and the refrigerator is full, the compressor may run continuously, causing frost or ice to form on the evaporator. If this happens, increase the refrigerator temperature.
  • Ensure good ventilation. Do not cover grilles and ventilation openings.

Fresh food refrigeration tips

  • To ensure that fresh food is well preserved, it is recommended to choose a temperature lower or equal to +4 °C. A higher temperature inside the refrigerator may shorten the life of the food.
  • Cover food to preserve freshness and aroma.
  • Always use airtight containers for liquids or cooked food to avoid smells.
  • To avoid cross contamination between cooked and raw foods, cover or pack cooked foods and separate them from the raw ones.
  • Do not place hot ingredients inside the appliance.
  • Make sure they have cooled to room temperature before inserting them.

Food refrigeration tips

  • Meat (all types): wrap in suitable packaging and place on the glass shelf/lid above the crisper drawer. Keep meat for a maximum of 1-2 days.
  • Fruits and vegetables: clean them thoroughly (remove dirt thoroughly) and place them in the crisper drawer. It is not advisable to store exotic fruits like bananas, mangoes, papayas, etc., as well as tomatoes, potatoes, onions, or garlic in the refrigerator.
  • Butter and cheese: place in an airtight container, wrap in aluminium foil or place in a polyethylene bag.
  • Bottles: seal them with a cap and place them in the bottle compartment on the door or, if available, in the bottle holder.
  • Always check the expiry date on products to find out how long you should keep them.

5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before carrying out any maintenance and cleaning task, turn off the appliance and unplug it.

Cleaning

The refrigerator must be cleaned regularly. For your safety, unplug it before cleaning. Carry out the following steps:

  1. Inside cleaning:
Clean the inside of the refrigerator with clean water or neutral soap. Then, wipe it with a dry cloth.
  2. Door seals cleaning:
It is easy to damage the door seals if they are stained with oil, sauce, etc., so it is advisable to clean them carefully.
  3. Cleaning the exterior:
Wipe off dust with a dry cloth and, if necessary, with a little neutral soap.
  4. This refrigerator has a maintenance-free LED light. Light repairs must be carried out by qualified personnel.

Defrost

If a lot of frost has formed, the efficiency of the refrigerator will decrease, and energy consumption will increase. Therefore, if the frost reaches a thickness of 5 mm, a defrosting process is necessary. The manual defrosting processes are as follows:

  1. Remove all food from the refrigerator.
  2. Remove the crisper drawer and shelves.
  3. Unplug the power cable.
  4. Open the door and wait for it to defrost.
  5. Clean the water with a dry cloth.

Disconnecting the refrigerator

After a power cut, even in summer, the refrigerator can store food normally for several hours.

  1. Interruption during a power cut:

  2. After a power cut, do not put any more food into the product and reduce the frequency of opening the door. Prepare several ice cubes in a container if you know in advance that the power cut will occur and place it on top of the refrigerator.

  3. Holidays:
  4. Take perishable food out of the fridge before the holidays.
  5. Afterwards, be sure to close the door securely. If you are going on holiday for a long period of time, remove all food from the refrigerator and disconnect it from the mains.
  6. Stop using the refrigerator

If you are not going to use the refrigerator for a long time, empty it, unplug it and clean it. The door should be kept open to avoid odour caused by food residues.

Note:

  • In general, do not unplug the refrigerator, as this may reduce its lifetime.
  • After unplugging the refrigerator from the power supply, allow at least 5 minutes to elapse before plugging it in again.
  • Do not splash water on the refrigerator. This could cause it to rust and stop working

ENGLISHENGLISH

properly. Electronic components must be dry cleaned.

  1. To clean the refrigerator, do not use products that could damage the exterior, such as: abrasive products, chemicals, thinners, alcohol, etc.

  2. Stains can damage the inner plastic component, so clean them as soon as possible.

  3. Check the following points after maintenance:

- Has the electronic cable been damaged or lost?

- Can the plug be placed in the socket reliably and without problems?

- Does the plug get too hot?

WARNING: please dispose of the door seal before discarding the refrigerator. Discarded appliances should be handled by professional personnel, as they may be harmful to the environment.
