IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES:
Before using the XG-31 trimmer, check that the amperage setting on the device corresponds to the power outlet. When using electrical equipment - especially with children nearby - basic safety measures must be observed.
Intended use: The device may only be used for cutting human hair. The device is designed for indoor use only. The device was developed for professional use in hair salons.
All safety instructions should be read carefully before use.

CAUTION!
Electric shock:
- Unplug the device after use.
- Keep the device away from moisture, water and other liquids.
- Do not use the device in the bathtub, shower, over a sink filled with water or with wet hands.
- Do not immerse the device under water or rinse the device under water.
- Do not use the device after it has fallen into water. Do not touch a device that has come into contact with water - immediately remove the mains plug.
- The device must be disconnected from the mains for cleaning, care and maintenance.
- If an error occurs during charging or cable operation, immediately disconnect the device from the power supply.
- Do not use the device if the hair clipper, cutting head, battery, charging station or connecting cable are damaged. Disconnect the device from the mains immediately and inform the EFALOCK customer service.
WARNING:

Do not use this device near bathtubs, washbasins or other objects containing water.
CAUTION!
Risk of injury from the cutting head:
- Do not grasp into or onto the cutting head when the device is switched on.
- Switch off the device when you put it down or when you attach or remove a comb attachment.
Swallowing of small parts:
- Keep the device out of the reach of children. Also keep the packaging material, such as foil, away from children.
Material damage:
- The device may only be operated with the original power supply unit.
- Do not expose the device to temperatures below 0^ or above 40^ for longer periods of time.
- Avoid direct sunlight.
- The device must not be used for any other than the intended purpose.
- Repairs may only be carried out by an authorised service centre.
- Do not use spare parts that have not been recommended or sold by the seller.

Protect the connecting cable from damage. Never pull on the connecting cable.

Never leave the cable wound up while the device is in use to avoid heat generation.
• The cutting head is a precision part. Protect it from damage. - Do not disassemble the cutting head.
- Never attempt to remove dust or foreign objects from the inside of the device with a pointed object.
- Protect the device, especially the cutting head, from dust.
- Store the device properly and protect it during transport in a means of transport suitable for Li-Ion batteries.
NOTE!
Persons (including children) who are unable to use the device safely due to their physical, sensory or mental abilities or their inexperience or lack of knowledge should not use this device without supervision or instruction from a responsible person. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
NOTE!
- As additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) with a rated trip current of no more than 30 ~mA in the bathroom circuit is recommended. Ask your installer for advice.

Charging the battery
This device contains a lithium-ion battery. When the device is delivered, it is not yet ready for battery operation. Fully charge the device before first use. The battery only reaches its full capacity after a few charging cycles. After initial charging, the device can be used without cable connection.
Charging in the charging station:
- Make sure that the charging station is on a level surface. Insert the adapter into the charging station.
- Plug the adapter into a functioning power outlet.
- Insert the switched off device into the charging station.
To charge the device without a charging station, use the supplied mains adapter.
▷ Lay the cable of the power supply unit so that nobody can trip over it.
▷ Keep the connecting cable away from hot surfaces.

▷ Before maintenance, switch off the device and disconnect it from the power supply.

Occasionally wipe the device with a damp (not wet) cloth. Then dry it with a clean cloth.

Hold the hair clipper with one hand with the front facing up and press the blade down with your thumb as shown in the illustration above (1). Take the blade in your other hand so that it does not fall down.
Maintenance of the cutting head:
Press and hold the upper side of the blade (2). Use the cleaning brush to remove hair between the upper blades. Keep the hair clipper tilted towards the ground to prevent oil from flowing into the motor. Use 1-2 drops of lubricating oil at the points shown in illustration (3).
Inserting the cutting head:
Hold the hair clipper with one hand, face down, and position the bottom of the blade so that its centre is aligned with the hair clipper. Push the front of the blade down until it clicks into place (4).
Storage
If you do not use the device for a longer period of time, store it only when charged. Store it in a cool and dry place. Make sure that the device is protected against dust and other environmental influences.
DISPOSAL

This device is marked in accordance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive 2012/19/EU. This electrical device must not be disposed of in the general waste bin at the end of its service life. It should either be handed in at a collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment or returned to the distributor. This also applies to electrical devices that are not used in the private sector, but for example in trade or crafts. If the responsible local public waste disposal facilities do not accept electronic devices that are not used privately, their waste advice centre will provide information on environmentally friendly disposal.
The symbol on the product, the operating instructions or the packaging indicates this. The materials are recyclable according to their labeling. With the reuse, material recycling or other forms of recycling of old devices, an important contribution is made to protecting the environment.
COMPLIANCE WITH EU DIRECTIVE 2006/66/EC

This electrical device contains a Li-Ion battery.
The battery must never be disposed of in the residual waste bin. Owners of waste equipment must generally separate waste batteries and rechargeable batteries that are not enclosed by the waste equipment from the latter before handing them in at a collection point. This does not apply if the waste equipment is handed in at public waste management facilities (recycling centre, reusable materials centre etc.) and separated from other waste equipment for the purpose of preparation for reuse. For more information, please contact your local waste disposal office or dealer.
WARRANTY
EFALOCK grants the statutory warranty on its small electrical devices for all device parts not subject to wear and tear. The rights arising from this warranty supplement the statutory and/or contractual warranty claims to which the buyer is entitled vis-à-vis the seller.
The warranty period begins with the delivery of the device. Proof of the time of delivery shall be provided by presenting the receipt, invoice, delivery note or similar.
The warranty period depends on the duration of the statutory limitation period for material defects under the national law of the country in which the device is purchased, but does not exceed 2 years.
Defects which occur within the warranty period and which are reported to us in writing within three weeks of their occurrence will be remedied by us without charge, subject to inspection with regard to proper use. Repairs must be carried out in our factory or in a sales outlet authorised by us. Further claims of the customer under this warranty do not exist.
Excluded from the warranty are defects caused by:
- misuse or insufficient care
- excessive strain, improper handling, maintenance or damage by unauthorised persons
- non-observance of the user manual
- a repair or attempted repair not carried out by EFALOCK or an authorised service partner
If repairs are carried out under warranty, the replaced parts shall become our property.
EFALOCK shall be entitled to remedy the defect by delivering a device identical in construction.
Further claims of the customer under this warranty, in particular for reimbursement of expenses, reduction, damages or the right to withdraw from the contract, do not exist. Legal or other contractual material defect claims remain unaffected.
The provision of warranties does not extend the warranty period.
If our customer service is requested with an unjustified warranty claim, we reserve the right to charge the customer for the costs incurred.
If any defects have occurred, please contact the seller of the device or the EFALOCK service partner in your country.
SPARE PARTS
Use only original spare parts that can be ordered from your EFALOCK service partner.
