- You may hear slight cracking noises due to differences in temperature and stress. This does not cause any damage to the appliance.
NOTE
Only pour on the dough once the crêpes plate is preheated.
Starting up Cloer-6620/Cloer-6625
- Uncoil the power cable fully.
- Plug the plug into a socket.
• The red indicator light will come on. - Turn the temperature control to the highest level.
- The green indicator light will come on now too.
- Caution! The appliance will now get hot!
- Wait until the green indicator light turns off. The appliance is now preheated.
- Use the ladle to pour a small amount of dough, around 60-80 ml, onto the crêpes plate.
- Fill the pancake batter into the four molds of the bottom baking plate using the ladle. (Cloer-6625)
- Use the Dough Spreader to spread the dough with a rotating movement, from the inside outwards, so that it is thin and even on the plate.
- Remember that the dough may spill over the edge if you use too much.
- The dough is easiest to spread if it is very thin and runny.
- The batter for the pancakes should not be too thin.
- Tip: Dip the Dough Spreader in water before spreading so that less dough stays stuck to it.
- Bake the crêpe until the surface is no longer fluid and it can be easily slid.
- Carefully slide the Crêpes Turner under the crêpe, lift it up and flip it.
- Let the crêpes bake a little longer until it is ready. Lift it up briefly with the Crêpes Turner to check if it is done. The crêpe should be visibly baked all through, but should not be too brown so that it is easy to fold or roll.
- If your crêpe has got too brown, reduce the temperature level somewhat.
- Now you can fill the crêpe with the ingredients of your choice.
• Finally, roll or fold it together with the Crêpes Turner
Recipes
Crêpes basic recipe (about 14 crêpes) Ingredients:
- 250 g flour
- 500 ml milk
- 50 g butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
Preparation:
First mix the eggs with the almost melted butter. You can warm the butter slightly so that it becomes slightly liquid. But it shouldn't get hot, otherwise the eggs will curdle. You can also add the salt now. Mix all ingredients into a homogeneous mass.
Now add milk and flour alternately and mix carefully. You can now add a splash of milk to the base and then add as much flour as you can mix in completely. Only when the flour is completely mixed should you add a little more milk so that no lumps form.
Vegan crêpes recipe (about 14 crêpes)
Ingredients:
• 250 g flour
- 1 pinch of salt
• 2 Tbsp. oil
• 250 ml soya or oat milk
• 250 ml sparkling water
• 1 Tbsp. vanilla sugar
Preparation:
Put the flour in a bowl. Add the milk an water, little by little, stirring constantly. Stir all the ingredients together until you obtain a lump-free dough. Leave to stand, covered, for an hour or longer.
The dough should be as thin and runny as possible; add more vegetable milk if necessary. For savoury crêpes, simply leave out the vanilla sugar.
Real pancakes made with "real butter"
Ingredients:
2 eggs
1 tablespoon (ca. 20 g) of sugar
40g butter
150g flour
1 pinch of salt (0.4g)
125ml milk (3.5%)
75 ml sparkling water
Preparation: 1. Cut the refrigerator-cold butter into narrow slices and place on the bottom of the mixing bowl. Place the mixing bowl in a bain-marie (e.g. a saucepan) with warm water to melt the butter until it is soft but not liquid. Stir with a whisk. If you want to use sugar, it can be added at this point.
- Remove the mixing bowl from the bain-marie, add the eggs and beat with the whisk to form a homogeneous mass, the base of the dough.
- Mix 2-3 tablespoons of flour into the base until smooth. This will help to melt any remaining solid butter and distribute it evenly. Add the salt and stir well.
- Add the flour and milk alternately and stir until smooth. You can avoid lumps by not mixing the flour directly with milk or water, but by adding it alternately to the base. Start with a good third of the flour, followed by half of the milk. Then flour, milk and flour again. This method is quicker than pouring everything into the pot at once and then stirring until the flour lumps have dissolved.
- Finally, stir in the mineral water. The carbonic acid in the mineral water has the same effect as baking powder and ensures that the pancakes turn out beautifully light and fluffy. Now, don't stir the dough for too long, otherwise all the carbon dioxide will escape again. The pancake batter is prepared.
Cleaning
• Always disconnect the mains plug before cleaning.
- Use a paper towel to clean the appliance while still warm.
- Clean Crêpes Turner and Dough Spreader with a damp cloth.
- Do not use any harsh cleaning agent, cleaning spray or scouring sponges.
