KOHLER® INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

TRILOGY K-5800

SELF-RIMMING ENAMELED

CAST IRON SINK

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

• Observe all local plumbing and building codes.

• Prior to installation, unpack the new sink and inspect it for damage. Return the sink to its protective carton until you are ready to install it.

• Inspect the waste and supply tubing; replace if necessary.

• When the sink backsplash is against the wall, a gap about 3/16" (5mm) wide at the base will need to be sealed with caulk.

TOOLS AND MATERIALS

•Sealant
•Pencil
•Tape measure
- Putty knife
- Scissors

•Keyhole or saber saw
- Safety glasses
- Masking tape
•Rags or paper toweling

INSTALL THE NEW SINK

NOTE: Any countertop with a built-in backsplash must not be secured to the cabinet until after the sink cutout is cut.

• Check the desired sink location for clearance between the faucet, fixture, and cabinet.
• Cut out the sink and backsplash templates.
• Position and trace the backsplash template on the backsplash (if present) as directed on the template.
• Cut out the backsplash with a saber or keyhole saw. Use extreme care and patience when cutting the backsplash; these cut lines will be visible after the sink is installed.
• Position and trace the sink template on the countertop as directed on the template.

TEMPLATE

•Cut out the countertop with a saber or keyhole saw.•Permanently secure the countertop to the cabinet using established installation methods and materials.
⚠️ CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or property damage.Cast iron sinks are very heavy.Get help lifting the sink.•Temporarily position the sink in the countertop opening. Verify the fit and position.•Trace a pencil line,orapply a border of masking tape around the outside edge of the sink.•Remove the sink from the countertop opening.•Install the faucet to the sink.
•Clean the countertop, and carefully position the sink in the countertop opening so the sink edges line up with the pencil line or masking tape border.
NOTE: When the sink back-splash is against the wall, a gap about 3/16” (5mm) wide at the base will need to be sealed with caulk.•Apply a thin, continuous bead of quality caulking around the sink edges, including the sink backsplash.•Immediately wipe away any excess caulking, and fill any voids as needed.•Verify that the sink has not moved out of position.•Allow the caulking to cure at least 30 minutes before proceeding.

• Install the sink strainers, and connect to the drain assembly.
• Install the garbage disposal, if used.
- Connect the faucet supply lines and complete the faucet installation. Be sure to follow all instructions packed with the faucet.
- Clean up with a non-abrasive cleaner.
