How to adjust the cutting height of the Vevor HS-GT1603B mower?

The cutting height is adjusted by moving the adjustment levers located next to the small wheels. There are 5 positions: pull the levers one by one and move them to the desired position. Position 1 is the lowest (1.37 inch) and position 5 the highest (2.44 inches). Both levers must be set to the same height.

How to calibrate the mower blades?

Remove the plastic knobs and screws from the Side bars and seaside for later use.

Assembly Instructions:

1. Attach the Handle top with Foam Grip to the Side Bars using provided knobs, bolts at labeled points A and B.
2. Attach the Handle bottom bar (labeled points C and D) to the mower.
3. Attach the Side bars to the handle bottom bars using the provided knobs, bolts and washers at labeled points D and C.

Assemble the Handle bottom bars with the Push Reel Lawn Mower.

Assemble the Net bag onto the Push Reel Lawn Mower.

Push Mower Safety Guidelines

Never place hands, fingers or feet inside the reel. Although motor does not power this mower, when the wheels turn the reel of the mower spins and can cut.

Never mow when the grass is wet enough to be slippery.

Do not use the push mower while barefoot or while wearing sandals.

Walk slowly, never run. Always be sure of your footing when using the push mower.

Never intentionally strike or ram trees, fences, etc. This can cause injuries or severely damage the push mower mechanisms.

Make sure that the push mower is in a safe operating condition. Do not attempt to operate this reel mower if it is damaged. If the push mower is damaged, have it repaired before using.

Cutting Height Adjustments

The cutting height of the push mower can be adjusted from 1 3/4 inches by moving the height adjustment levers to the required position.

To achieve the lowest cutting position, pull the adjustment levers located next to the smaller wheels one at a time and move them to the highest positions (position 1).

To achieve the highest cutting position, move the adjustment levers one at a time to their lowest position (position 5).

NOTE: The two height adjustment levers must be set to the same height position.

Mower Blade Calibration Adjustments

The blades on the push mower are all calibrated prior to leaving the factory and generally do not require adjustments. However, adjustments may be required only if you notice a rough, uneven cut, the mower is difficult to push, or the mower simply does not cut the grass. Please note before proceeding that adjusting the blades is a very sensitive procedure. A 1/16 inch turn is considered a major adjustment. Carefully follow the procedures below.

Proper calibration is achieved when the cutting blades (see figure) are adjusted so that the rotating cutting reel ever so slightly comes into even contact along the entire length of the cutting bar, creating a shearing or scissor-like effect.

WARNING: The cutting bar and rotating reel blades can be damaged if they are adjusted too close to each other.

Loosening the Blades

To loosen the blades, the cutter bar

must be moved away from the cutting reel by turning the spring

loaded screws equally counter

clockwise. Be sure to loosen both

spring loaded screws on both sides

of the mower the same amount.

Tightening the Blades

To tighten the blades, the cutter bar must be moved closer to the cutting

reel by turning the spring-loaded screws equally clockwise.

Be sure to tighten the spring-loaded screws

On both sides of the mower the same amount.

Checking the Adjustments

1. Turn the mower upside down.
2. Insert a piece of paper between the cutter bar and the reel blade, carefully turn the reel blades by hand.
3. All blades should slice the paper evenly along the entire length of the cutter bar while the reel turns smoothly.
4. If the mower has an intermittent cut, adjustment should be made on appropriate sides of the blades to attain proper cutting action.

General Care

To extend the life of the mower, store the mower during inclement weather. Minimum care is required to ensure smooth operation of your mower. To avoid damage to the mower or cutting blades, keep the area free from any debris. For best results, regularly apply oil or lubricant to the mower's cutting reel, bearings, and other moving parts.
