How to install the grinding dust shroud on the grinder?

First disconnect the power. Loosen the clamp band nut, slide the shroud onto the grinder collar aligning the grooves, tighten the clamp, then attach the diamond wheel. Adjust spacing with washers if necessary.

Can this dust shroud be used without a vacuum?

No, it is essential to use a vacuum suitable for concrete dust. The shroud is designed to be connected to a vacuum hose via the supplied universal adapter.

How to clean and maintain the dust shroud?

Regularly clean the shroud with mild soap and a damp cloth. Never use flammable solvents (gasoline, thinners) or chlorinated ones. Keep it clean and dry.

What types of grinding wheels are recommended?

Use only 4 to 5 inch diamond grinding wheels (cup or dish type) for dry grinding. Do not use cut-off wheels or bonded abrasive wheels.

How to adjust the wheel depth relative to the shroud?

If the wheel does not protrude beyond the shroud edge, remove it and add spacers (washers) around the spindle. Tighten or loosen the three clamp collar screws to adjust the spacing.

What to do if the dust shroud does not hold properly?

Prior to use, thoroughly review this instruction sheet, the guidelines for both the tool and grinding accessory, as well as all labels affixed to shroud, tool, and grinding accessory. Neglecting to adhere to the provided warnings and instructions could lead to severe injury. Retain all warnings and instructions for future reference.

- Use the proper shroud for the power tool. The shroud must properly fit the tool. The inset on the tool collar must fit the ridges on the shroud. - Only use 4"/5" diamond cup wheels with the 4"/5" shroud.

The incorrect size or type accessory may cause personal injury, or damage to the shroud or tool.

Your concrete surface grinding shroud has been meticulously designed for efficient dust removal during various applications, including grinding, leveling, and polishing concrete surfaces. It effectively eliminates dust when removing surface paint, epoxy, and glue. By utilizing the appropriate grinder, diamond grinding wheel, and dust extractor vacuum, this shroud can significantly reduce both static and airborne dust. Without the use of this surface grinding shroud, such dust could otherwise contaminate the working environment or pose heightened health risks to the operator and

those nearby. It is imperative that this concrete surface grinder is always used in conjunction with a dust extractor vacuum specifically designed for concrete dust removal.

DO NOT use under wet conditions or in the presence of flammable liquids or gases. The surface grinding shroud is a professional tool.

DO NOT allow children to come into contact with the tool. Supervision is mandatory when inexperienced operators use this tool.

ASSEMBLY

WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury, always disconnect the power supply before attaching or removing accessories or making adjustments.

1. Unplug or remove the battery pack from the tool.
2. Remove all accessories and the tool's guard.
3. Ensure the tool meets the shroud's fit requirements.

1. Loosen the band clamp nut (1/4" for 4"/5" shroud) to make the clamp wide enough to slip over the tool's collar.
2. Fit the band clamp ridges into the tool's collar inset.

NOTE: Surface grinding shroud diameter is 51.5mm, so need to check your angle grinder diameter and choose different size clamping washer thickness (Fig.1G) to add angle grinder collar diameter (Fig.2) to 51.5mm.

1. Rotate the shroud to the desired position.
2. Center the shroud on the spindle and tighten the band clamp securely, making sure the ridges remain engaged with the inset.
3. Attach the diamond cup wheel according to the tool and accessory manufacturers' instructions.
4. If the diamond cup wheel does not extend above the lip of the shroud, remove the diamond cup wheel and place the spacers around the spindle. Reinstall the diamond cup wheel. To fine-tune the spacing, tighten or loosen the three band clamp screws. Be sure enough of the screw is engaged with the bolt to hold the clamp to the guard.
5. Insert the vacuum hose into the port. Secure the vacuum hose to the power cord (if necessary) using the releasable tie.

Mounting and Removing Surface Grinding Shroud

1. Follow the instructions for mounting and removing the guard in the manual to remove the guard from the grinder.
2. Open the clamping lever (C) on the surface grinding shroud and align a tab (J) on the shroud with the slots (I) on the grinder gear (G).
3. With the clamping lever open, rotate the shroud to the desired working position. The surface grinder shroud should be positioned between the spindle and the operator to provide operator protection.
4. Close the clamping lever to secure the surface shroud to the gear and tighten the clamp adjustment screw (B) to ensure the shroud is securely fastened to the gear case.

NOTE: Do not tighten the clamp adjusting screw (B) with the clamp in the open position. Undetectable damage to the surface grinding shroud or mounting hub may result.

1. To remove the surface grinding shroud, first open the clamp lever, rotate the surface grinding shroud to align the slots and tabs, and then remove the surface grinding shroud.
2. Connect the universal vacuum cleaner hose adapter to the dust extraction outlet. Our products come equipped with vacuum cleaner converter heads, allowing consumers to choose whether to utilize this component for enhanced practicality.

Dry diamond surface cup wheels serve as supplementary functional accessories, rather than standard components for all products.

Please consult the specific purchase model for accurate information.

Follow the mounting and using cutting wheel instructions in the tool manual and mount the grinding wheel. DO NOT use type 1 cutting wheel or abrasive wheel. Dry diamond surface cup (L) wheels are recommended for use with this shroud. The inner flange washer (K) should be installed behind the wheel, allowing free tool removal and proper fit.

DUST EXTRACTION

WARNING: This attachment must be used with a dust extractor system. Always wear certified safety face or dust mask.

CLEANING

Keep the shroud clean, dry, and free from oil or grease. Use only a damp cloth for cleaning, as certain cleaning agents and solvents can be detrimental to plastics and other components. Harmful substances include gasoline, turpentine, lacquer thinner, paint thinner, chlorinated cleaning solvents, ammonia, and household detergents containing ammonia. Never use flammable or combustible solvents near tools.
