What is the maximum towing capacity of the AL-2-DROP8 model?

The capacity depends on the ball used: with the 1-7/8 in ball, the maximum gross trailer weight is 8,000 lb; with the 2 in ball, it is 10,000 lb; with the 2-5/16 in ball, it is 15,000 lb. Never exceed the capacity recommended by your vehicle manufacturer.

What ball sizes are included with the hitch?

The AL-2-DROP8 model comes with three interchangeable balls: 1-7/8 in, 2 in, and 2-5/16 in. They can be changed quickly thanks to the quick-release design.

How do I install the mounting system?

Installation is done in several steps: 1) Install the ball mount into the receiver. 2) Insert the chosen ball. 3) Tighten the bolt by hand then with a tool. 4) Adjust the desired height and secure with the trailer lock. Refer to the manual for complete details.

How do I change the trailer ball?

To change the ball, remove the safety lock, loosen the center bolt, then rotate the ball to remove it. You can then insert another ball and tighten again. For the 2 in and 2-5/16 in balls, simply flip the entire assembly without disassembling the individual balls.

Yes, the AL-2-DROP8 model is designed to fit a 2-inch receiver. Make sure your vehicle is equipped with this type of receiver before installation.

WARNING:

1. Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The ratings of the mounting system are intended to represent the product's capability and in no way reflect the ratings or capacity of the towing system it is being used with. The consumer or operator is strongly advised to learn the ratings of the various components of the towing system and never exceed the limits of the lowest-rated component being used.
2. Use of any pin other than that of the mount system manufacturer can be a serious safety hazard and will void the warranty. Never hook up safety chains to the mounting system.
3. Installing a safety chain between the vehicle and accessories is highly recommended.
4. Be aware of the danger of "dynamic loading." This situation arises when a load is dropped onto the product, resulting in an excessive short-term load. Dynamic loading can damage and fail the product and/or the attached accessory and cause personal injury to people nearby.
5. Ensure the safety chains operate freely around the mounting system and do not become entangled.
6. This product is not a toy and cannot be used as a toy for children.
7. Remember that the previously discussed warnings cannot cover all possible events and circumstances. The person setting up and using the product must always use common sense.

INSTALLATION

This product has a unique design, the ball head can be quickly and easily replaced! It can prevent the ball head from being stolen.

The following installation procedure uses the model AL-2-drop6" as an example. Other models are similar.

NOTE: Please check you have the key parts as shown below.

STEP 1: Install the ball seat.

STEP 2: Install the ball.

Note: If the hole pair is not compatible, turn it over and try again.

Rotation alignment

STEP 3: B goes through A, spins into the ball, and twists with your hand until it is slightly tight.

STEP 4: Use A to continue tightening bolt B.

STEP 5: A goes out, and rotate to line up with the tee hole.

STEP 6: Fix with the trailer lock after moving to the appropriate height.

NOTE: Rubber rings are placed on both inner sides as needed to reduce noise.

STEP 7: Installation complete. If you need to remove and replace other ball heads, refer to the preceding steps.

NOTE!

The conversion of 2" and 2-5/16" ball heads does not require separate removal of the ball heads, only the whole component is turned over and installed.
