HOW SOLAR POOL HEATING WORKS
1.Using your pool pump, water is automatically pumped through the solar collectors.
2. The water is then heated by the sun as it moves through the collector
3. The heated water is returned back to the pool, through your return line

CAUTION:
a) Solar collectors are often installed on the roofs of buildings. Unless you are very familiar with working on roofs and have the proper ladders and safety equipment for such work, you should someone with the necessary experience to do the installation. Fa to observe safe practices on a roof or other elevated structure result in falling, leading to serious injury to you.
b) When installing collectors on the ground, do not build a rack support that could allow children access into the pool.

To install your solar heating system you will require 2 hoses - that will reach from the pool equipment to the collector and one reaches from the collector back to the pool.
INSTALLATION
- Provide an area that is free of any sharp objects with at least 6 full sunlight a day.
- Allow the collectors to relax in the sun (30 minutes to an hour). LAY COLLECTORS ON THE GRASS IT CAN DAMAGE THE LAWN UNDERNEATH! DO NOT WALK ON COLLECTORS.
- Join the header pipes together using one black rubber connector h and two 2" hose clamps. Position 2"Hose clamp in from each end of connector hose and tighten (as shown). Do Not Over tighten. Do not connector hose against tubes of collector.
- Cover the rubber end caps on the ends of the header pipe with
clamps. Position 2" hose clamps and tighten (a shown).
5.Cover the rubber elbows on the other ends of header pipe with a 2" hose clamps. Position 2" clamps and tighten(as shown).
6.1 If connect to the soft hose, insert the D32 hose adapter the rubber elbow. Position 2.5" ho clamps and tighten(as shown).
6.2 If connect to D50mm PVC pipe, do not in theD32-38mm hose adapter to the rubber elbow can connect to the PVC pipe directly. Then pc 2.5'hose clamps and tighten(as shown)

Turn off the pool pump.

Go to pool and plug the round return fitting pool wall from the inside so the water won't d through(a winter plug works well).
9.Connect a hose from the filter to the lower connector.Always fill the system from the bottom 10.Connect the other hose from pool return fitting the other elbow connector.
- From the inside of the pool wall, remove the plug you placed in round return fitting.
- Turn on the pump. Check for leaks and tighten the connections need attention.
Note: Upon start-up you will see air bubbles come through the return hose. This is normal and will stop after all the air has been purged for solar heating system.
How Well Does Solar Heating Work?
A properly sized and installed system will raise pool temperatures up 10F during the season. You will only want to circulate water through solar collector when the sun is shining. When it's cloudy or rainy, so won't work as well(and you probably won't be swimming during those
times), but your water will be back up to temperature after one or two days.
Where Can I Put The Solar Collectors?
Anywhere you get at least 6 hours of full sun during the day. The collectors are in full sun, the better they will work. If you are mountain solar on an angle(like a roof or rack), the collectors should face a solid direction. If mounting on a rack placed on the ground, position the rack that it does not provide access to the pool for children.
Operation
- The collectors should feel cool to the touch when the sun is shin them and water is passing through. This means that the heat is being transferred to the water.
- The water returning to your pool will be a few degrees warmer than pool itself. This is the most efficient way to heat a large body of water pool. Keep circulating the water which adds a few degrees each past 3. Circulate water though the solar collectors at least 6 hours per day during the daylight hours on sunny days. If you circulate your water therm them at night, or when it's overcast or on chilly days you will cool up water rather than heat it. If you need to run your pump at night, open diverter valve so that water goes directly back to the pool, bypassing solar system.
Winterization
Your solar system must be drained for winterization! Freeze damage is covered under warranty! You must drain your solar collectors just like drain the rest of your pool equipment! Remove the vacuum relief valve the top of the solar system.Remove the rubber end cap at the bottom be sure ALL the water is drained out of the system, Replace end cap blow pressurized air in the reverse direction of normal water flow .Th the most effective way to drain your system. You can leave the collec place(as long as they completely drained)and they will withstand even
harshest winters. Of course, you can store your collectors inside in a dry place. If you like.
