20. OPERATION
Introduction
The fan heater is intended exclusively for use in households, garages, private halls or home workshops. The device has a thermostat for monitoring and controlling the ambient temperature and a self-resetting overheating protection. The thermostat continuously measures the room air temperature and controls the heat output accordingly. When the preset temperature is reached, the thermostat switches off the heating element, which also automatically stops the fan motor. In the event of overheating, the thermal safety device interrupts operation of the appliance and restores it automatically as soon as a safe temperature is reached.
When you operate the fan heater for the first time, a slight amount of smoke may be emitted. This is normal and will disappear after a short time. The heating element is made of stainless steel and has been coated with a protective oil at the factory. When heated, this oil vaporises and causes the brief development of smoke.
Description of the system control (switch mode)
The fan heater has a clear user interface with the following controls:
FX-EH3-3KW
-
- Operating indicator light: There is a control light on the top of the device that indicates whether the fan heater is in operation.
-
- Right rotary knob (thermostat control): Allows you to continuously adjust the desired room temperature. The thermostat automatically adjusts the heating output to maintain the set temperature.
-
- Left rotary knob: Used to select the desired heating output. Depending on the setting, different operating modes can be selected, for example fan operation without heating, heating mode 1 (low output) or heating mode 2 (full output).

- The fan heater is not suitable for use outdoors in damp weather, in bathrooms or in other wet or humid environments.
- Please note that the appliance can become very hot during operation. Always place it at a sufficient distance from flammable materials such as furniture, curtains or similar objects.
• Caution: Do not cover the appliance - risk of overheating!
• The appliance must not be operated directly under a socket outlet.
- Do not connect the fan heater to timers or other control devices that could switch it on or off automatically if left unattended.
• Do not operate the fan heater in rooms where flammable liquids or gases are stored or used.
• If an extension cable is used, it should be as short as possible and completely unwound.
• Do not connect any other appliances to the same socket as the fan heater.
• Do not use the fan heater in the immediate vicinity of bathtubs, showers or swimming pools.
- If the mains cable is damaged, it may only be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorised customer service agent or a suitably qualified specialist.
- Do not leave the appliance running unattended. Keep children and pets away from the fan heater.
• Do not place the appliance on moving or unstable surfaces that can easily tip over.
- Disconnect the fan heater from the power supply if you are not going to use it for a longer period of time. Always pull the plug straight out of the socket and never by the cable.
- Keep the appliance away from curtains or other materials that could block the air inlet or outlet.
- The mains plug is only splash-proof when it is not connected. Do not use the device with wet hands and do not operate it if there is moisture on the power cable.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
• Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Application
Position the fan heater upright on a firm, level surface. Ensure that the appliance is positioned at a safe distance from wet areas and flammable materials.
Connect the fan heater to the mains.
The appliance starts operating as soon as the heating selector is set to one of the available power levels. As soon as the desired room temperature is reached, the heating element switches off automatically. The fan remains active to maintain air circulation. If the room temperature falls below the set value again, the heating element is reactivated. The fan heater operates independently in this mode to keep the room temperature constant.
21. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply before cleaning and allow it to cool down completely. Clean the housing regularly with a soft, slightly damp sponge. For more stubborn dirt, use a sponge dipped in lukewarm water (maximum 50 °C) with a mild detergent. Then wipe all cleaned surfaces with a clean, dry cloth. Ensure that no water penetrates the inside of the appliance. Do not use liquids for direct spraying and avoid aggressive cleaning agents such as petrol or solvents to prevent damage to the housing.
Clean the mains cable and plug carefully and dry them thoroughly.
If the fan heater is not to be used for a longer period of time, allow it to cool down completely before storing it. Store the appliance in a dry and well-ventilated place. Cover it with a plastic bag to protect it from dust and ideally store it in a cardboard box.
22. MAINTENANCE
Only use original accessories and original spare parts.
Only a regularly maintained and treated appliance can provide satisfactory assistance.
Inadequate maintenance and care can lead to unforeseen accidents and injuries.
23. ACCESSORIES AND SPARE PARTS
Only use original accessories and spare parts to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the appliance. Further information can be found at www.FUXTEC.com.
