Instructions for use

READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE AND KEEP THEM FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. IF YOU GIVE THE APPLIANCE TO SOMEONE ELSE, MAKE SURE YOU ALSO PASS ON THE INSTRUCTIONS.

When using electrical appliances, the basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of a fire, electric shock and/or injury to people.

  • This appliance is intended for domestic use only. It must be used in accordance with the instructions in this leaflet.
  • This appliance is not intended for use in the following cases which are not covered by the warranty:

DESCRIPTION OF THE DISPLAY SCREEN

Selection of the browning level of the waffles:

7 levels: from the lightest (1) "LIGHT" to the darkest (MAX) "DARK".

Before first use

  1. Unpack the appliance and put it on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
  2. Wash the cooking plates with a soft sponge (non-abrasive), hot water and some washing-up liquid. Rinse with clear water and dry carefully with a soft cloth.
  3. Wipe the outer surfaces of the appliance using a clean, soft cloth.
  4. Dry all the parts before using the appliance.

  5. There may be a slight odour and a little smoke when the appliance is used for the first time. This is normal and does not affect the operation of the device.

Use

  1. Unwind the power cord completely and plug into the appliance.
  2. Press the on/off switch The display lights up.
  3. Press the MENU button one or more times to choose a program:

  1. Press the "TEXTURE" button one or more times to choose the required texture:

  1. Turn the "COLOUR" button to choose the level of browning of the waffles. There are 7 levels of browning: from level 1 "LIGHT" to MAX level "DARK".

The appliance preheats to reach the selected adjustments. The browning level flashes. When the appliance is ready, the display turns continuous.

  1. Pour the waffle batter onto the cooking plates and close the lid immediately.

Note: any excess dough will be discharged into the recovery channel.

  1. The cooking of the waffles starts automatically for the set time in accordance with the program selected and the browning level (see tables below).

  1. The countdown timer is displayed on the screen. When the waffles are ready, the appliance beeps.
  2. Open the lid and remove the waffles with a wooden or heat-resistant plastic utensil.

Note: if you don't remove the waffles immediately, they will continue to cook.

Note: do not cut the waffles when they are still on the cooking plates.

  • WARNING! THE APPLIANCE BECOMES HOT DURING OPERATION AND CAN CAUSE BURNS. DO NOT TOUCH THE HOT SURFACES OF THE APPLIANCE (HOTPLATES): ONLY USE THE HANDLE AND KNOBS.
  • DO NOT USE SHARP OR METALLIC OBJECTS AS THEY CAN DAMAGE THE NON-STICK COATING OF THE PLATES.

  • Repeat the steps above to make the following waffles.

  • When you have finished using the appliance, switch it off, unplug it from the mains power and then leave it open until it has completely cooled down.

TO CHANGE THE SETTINGS

Given that the settings cannot be changed once cooking has started, you have to wait for the end of the current cooking cycle of the two waffles or stop the appliance (by pressing the on/off button) and turn it back on again.

THE "CUSTOM" PROGRAM (PERSONALISED)

  1. Press the MENU button several times to choose the "CUSTOM" program.
  2. Choose the texture and the browning level.
  3. Pour the waffle batter onto the cooking plates and close the lid.

WARNING: for this program, there is no predefined cooking time, therefore, no audible signal to let you know that the waffles are ready. You must control and stop the cooking yourself.

  1. After removing the first waffles, you will need to press the "MANUAL START" to restart the timer in order to start cooking the following waffles.

THE "MANUAL START" BUTTON

  • For any program, it is used to start cooking manually. (By default, cooking starts automatically when you pour the dough and close the lid).
  • For the personalised program, it is used to restart the timer for cooking the following waffles.

LOCKING MECHANISM

It is only used to store the appliance.

Please leave the locking mechanism open when cooking. If you close it, the waffle batter will not be able to spread evenly or expand properly.

Cleaning and maintenance

  • WARNING! UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE FROM THE POWER SOCKET AND WAIT FOR IT TO COOL DOWN COMPLETELY BEFORE CLEANING.
  • NEVER IMMERSE THE APPLIANCE, POWER CORD OR PLUG IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
  • Do not put any part of this appliance in the dishwasher.
  • Never use scouring powder or an abrasive pads as this can damage the coating.

CLEANING THE PLATES

  • In order to prevent the accumulation of residues, remove them between each cooking cycle.
  • After use, remove the residues with a wooden spatula.
  • Then, clean the plates with a soft sponge dampened with hot water and some washing-up liquid. Rinse with clean water, and then dry thoroughly using a soft cloth.
  • Be careful not to let water get inside the appliance, especially at the power cord.

CLEANING THE BODY OF THE APPLIANCE

  • Wipe the body of the appliance with a soft cloth or a slightly dampened sponge.

Storage

  • Switch off the device, unplug it and make sure it is completely cool.
  • Turn the locking mechanism to the closed position.
  • Wind the power cord in the grooves provided under the appliance.
  • Store the waffle maker upright in a cool, dry place.
